Fire On Fire

Chapter Chapter twenty three - I'm staying bitches

I woke up with a pounding in my head. The memory of all the drinks I had came rushing back to me. I groaned and covered my face with the covers.

"Ughhhhhhhhh whyyyyyyy"

"It's called a hangover, it happens when you drink too much mi Cielo"

At the sound of Ace's voice I shot up and twisted my body to the other side of the bed. He was laying there, shirtless with his arms behind his head, smirking.

My cheeks flushed and I averted my eyes away from his sexy torso.

The covers barely concealed the rest of him. Then a thought occurred to me. Oh my god...Did we..? Oh god please no, I mean if we did then YESS kudos but noo.

I didn't want my first time to be while I was drunk! I sat up and rubbed my aching head.

"Ace...did we...?" I asked softly, my heart pounding.

He chuckled and sat up. He leaned in and brushed a strand of hair out of my face.

He moved his face closer and whispered in my ear.

"Trust me mi Cielo, if we did...you wouldn't be sitting right now"

My cheeks flushed and heat crawled up my neck. He kissed my ear and went lower. He placed a soft kiss on my neck and I let out a soft moan.

"You like that Cielo?" he asked, his voice low and husky. God why, why is he doing this.

I couldn't take it anymore.

I breathed in sharply.

"Yes...yes I do" he raised his eyebrows and smirked.

"I love it when you talk to me like that" I said again. His eyes darkened.

In one swift move, he pulled me onto his lap. I gasped.

"Say that again" he said, his voice low, hoarse and husky.

"I said..." I whispered

"I love it..." I bit his ear

"When you talk to me like that" I finished and kissed his lips.

He growled and gripped my waist tightly. He deepened the kiss and slipped his tongue into my mouth.

We've kissed before but this was...different. There was something different, we were closer now, emotionally.

There was more aggression behind his kisses and his touch. I didn't mind the slight pain, I loved it.

Our bond opened up and so did our feelings. The air was thick and heavy with lust.

I could feel his every thought and that just turned me on even more.

I didn't even realize that I was moving against him until I heard him groan

"Ah...Ava..." he grunted. Even through my thick clothes I could feel his heat and his want, pushing up against mine. I moaned and pushed harder. He grabbed my hair pulled on it. I moaned.

"Ace..." I breathed out.

I stopped and rested my forehead on his. Our breathing was heavy and fast.

"What language is that?" I asked, curiosity getting the better of me.

"Spanish and Greek" I pulled back and scrunched up my nose.

"Greekish?" Ace laughed, for the first time I think, a loud, deep, genuine laugh.

"You're so weird" he said while he kissed my cheek.

"Hey! I was just wondering!" I shot back and stared into his eyes.

"Hey Ace..."

"Yes ?"

"Is your surname really Hellward?" I questioned.

"Fuck" was all he said and I burst out laughing.

"Falia can't keep her mouth shut"

"I like it! It's fitting!" He grumbled and frowned.

"What do you MEAN it's 'FITTING' ???" he growled.

I giggled.

"It's nice" I said while trying to suppress a laugh and failing miserably.

Ace scowled.

"You're making fun of my name aren't you ?"

"What!? me!? NO WAY!"

Ace started tickling me saying I should be 'punished' for my actions and we spent almost the whole morning just goofing around.

I grumbled as I accepted a glass of water from Falia.

"Ughh, I forgot about the consequences of getting drunk"

"Oh really? That headache didn't seem to bother you much when you were getting busy with Ace up in the bedroom" I choked and spluttered.

"What...how..."

"I hear everything sweetie , EVERYTHING" she whispered, then sauntered over to serve another customer. My cheeks flushed.

OH.MY.GOD.

I looked over at Ace who was in a very deep discussion with another gruff looking man on the other side of the bar.

He said he was going to get us horses.

It was weird, they had stoves but no cars?

I figured more or less how their world worked, they were just as advanced as us but they preferred to rough it when it came to certain things.

The memory of what happened earlier that morning made my cheeks flush. Ace caught my eye, and, although he was talking to the other man, he held my gaze for a very long time.

He licked his lips.

You're thinking about it too I heard his voice in my head.

WAIT WHAT!? I studied him, eyes wide. He looked pleased with himself because he just smirked.

He was still talking to the other man, and he was too far away, his voice sounded like it was in my head. Was I just imagining things? Or was this the bond...?

He stood up along with the other man, they shook hands and the man walked out the door.

Ace walked over to where I was seated and placed a hand on my shoulder. A bolt of electricity shot through me. I flinched and turned to look up at him, he offered me a toothy smile.

Oh I know you did that on purpose.

"I got us two horses" he stated. He walked around me and grabbed a seat beside me.

"If we leave now, we probably won't make it by nightfall"

"So what now?" I asked

"We'll leave tomorrow at dawn" Suddenly I remembered something.

"Hey Ace, earlier you mentioned you stole a map from the Elven queen, That would lead you to where the survivors might be?"

"Right, yes, I believe their location is in the demon kingdom, probably hidden behind some kind of cloaking spell."

"What happens after that...?" I asked hesitantly.

"After we find them ?" I nodded my head.

"Well...I would have to ensure their safety, rebuild the demon kingdom" I watched him as he said this. He really cared about his people. I could it see it in his eyes.

IF they're still alive.

I heard his voice resonate in my head.

"What about the evil elf-hag?" I questioned.

"Well..." he cleared his throat.

"I was hoping to avoid this conversation but since you asked. If it comes to it, I'd have to fight her"

"That's why I'm giving you the choice now Ava. Do you want to stay? If you do, you need to accept all the dangers that come with staying, if you would like to go back home, Falia could take you right now. You could go back and everything would be as it was"

For a second the thought of being home crossed my mind. Ace looked worried, worried that I would choose to leave. I chuckled.

"You kidding me? I just learnt I'm most probably half demon and that there's a whole new world to explore, I'm not about to leave anytime soon" I smirked. Ace seemed to visibly relax.

"Besides, what would you do without me?"

Ace rolled his eyes and he burst out laughing, soon I joined him, giggling and clutching my belly. Yeah like I could do anything to help fight the hag.
