Finding Lilibeth

Dj placed the call to his Gramps and told him everything that was happening. He explained what had gone down prior to him getting home and about Lilibeth's past. His a Gramps was furious and assured Dj he would be there in the morning. There was one thing that Gramps didn't like and that was people who abused children.

"Gramps will be here in the morning" Dj told Zac who nodded his head. Dj was still holding onto Lilibeth who was sound asleep when Beau came barging into the room. "What the hell Dj?" Beau yelled at his older brother causing Lilibeth to wake with a fright and cover her head out of instinct. Dj was furious "it's ok Lili, I'm going to go talk to this idiot and you are going to sit here with Zac. He won't let anything happen to you" Dj said placing Lilibeth in Zac's lap. Lilibeth went stiff as soon as she was in Zac's lap, she had never been affectionate with anyone but Dj and didn't feel comfortable with Zac because he had been involved in treating her badly when she first got here.

Dj pushed Beau out of the room into the hallway. "What's your problem?" Dj asked Beau. "You attack your brother over that" Beau yelled while pointing to Lilibeth's bedroom door. "That? Are you kidding me? She is your sister and he attacked her. So back the fuck off before I put you on your arse too" Dj yelled into Beau face. Beau was not going to back down though, Lilibeth wasn't his sister she was his half sister who shouldn't of been born according to his father so she didn't deserve the same things the boys did. "She isn't our sister she is a mistake and needs to learn her place" Beau screamed getting into Dj's face.

Dj swung punching Beau square in the face, how dare he speak like that about Lilibeth. She was there sister and didn't deserve how she was being treated. Beau was shocked, Dj had never lashed out like that to any of his brothers. He had always protected them and looked out for them even when there dad went off the rails after there mum died. "She is my sister and I won't tolerate you or your brothers disrespecting her. You want to blame someone, blame our father because he left her to be abused by her mother while he is pretending he played no part in it" Dj said before going back into Lilibeth's room.

Zac was trying to comfort Lilibeth and had heard everything Beau had said. "Lilibeth, he is an idiot. You are our sister" Zac told Lilibeth who was silently crying and shaking. She couldn't get her breath again either but made no noise. All she did was attempt to get out of Zac's hold but he wasn't letting her go. He saw she was struggling with the yelling and wanted to help.

Dj walked over to Lilibeth who was still in Zac's lap and looked at his sister. "Shit she is having a panic attack" Dj said alerting Zac to how bad Lilibeth was struggling. Dj scooped up his sister and placed her head on his chest. "Lili, I need you to listen to my heart beat and take some deep breaths ok?" Dj asked but Lilibeth didn't make a sound nor did she acknowledge Dj she continued to silently struggle to get oxygen in her lungs. "Lili take a deep breath in with me" Dj stated firmly and felt his sister take a breath with him. "Now let it out slowly" Dj said and felt his sister do exactly that. Zac watched on as his sister struggled to come back from her panic attack. He was so angry with his brothers and dad for how they were treating Lilibeth still. He couldn't understand it seeing they had been scared when she took off.

Once Dj had calmed Lili down he sat her back on the bed. "Right we are staying in here tonight. I'll order us pizza and we can have a sleep over" Dj told Lili and Zac. He didn't want Lili alone seeing his father and brothers were in the house. Zac smiled and jumped up saying "I'll get some snacks" before running out of the room. Lili looked up at Dj watching him, she didn't know what a sleep over meant at all and didn't know why they wanted to stay in her room.

Dj smiled at his sister, "we are going to sleep in here and maybe play some games and spend time together. Lili don't listen to anything they say ok. I love you, you are my sister and they are the ones missing out. You are so strong and brave and they just don't see it. You are eight and know how to take care of yourself and they can't even boil water. You are so special" Dj whispered to his sister bringing her into a gentle hug. Lilibeth finally relaxed when she was in Dj's arms. He smiled down at his sister when he felt her body relax. He knew he would have to get her out of this house, no child should ever be on alert all the time like she was. It was unhealthy especially for a child who had already experienced abuse at the hands of her mother.

Zac came back with bags of lollies, chips wnd freshly popped popcorn. He also had his laptop in his hands. "We are going to watch some movies" Zac declared. Dj let Lilibeth go and smiled at Zac "have enough food?" He teased his brother. "I didn't know what Lilibeth liked so I got some of everything" Zac replied while his cheeks tinged pink. Dj laughed at his brother and looked at Lilibeth "you better eat it all then" he joked causing Lilibeth to smile.

"Ok what pizza does everyone want?" Dj asked. "Meat lovers Zac called out startling Lilibeth in the process. "Sorry" he mumbled to his sister. She gave Zac a little smile. "What about you Lili?" Dj asked. "Cheese" Lilibeth whispered back. "Ok" Dj answered before ordering the pizza and sitting down on Lili's bed. "Pizza will be here in 30 minutes so let's play uno until then and once the pizza gets here we will watch a movie" Dj told his younger siblings before shuffling the uno cards and starting to play, Lilibeth was on Dj's team as she had no idea how to play uno.

When the pizza arrived Dj went down to grab it and was stopped by his father. "What do you think you are doing?" Darren asked his son. Dj shook his head at his father "something you should of done a long time ago" Dj answered before returning upstairs to his brother and sister. Beau, Leo, and Lex were shocked at how Dj spoke to his father. Dj spoke with such hate, something no one had ever heard before.

Dj hadn't even acknowledged his brothers or offered them pizza. They didn't understand why he had taken a liking to Lilibeth when she was just a nuisance, a mistake that there father made and now they were stuck with. Yeh they had felt bad for how they treated her but there father hadn't bothered with her so why should they?
