Finding Emery

Chapter Epilogue

It had been six long months since Emery returned to the Quake's. Uncle Mike had done what he set out to do and set up a room for Emery in the house as her safe space to run to, but for the first 2 months, she still ran to the shed when she felt unsafe. The Quake's had wanted to tear the thing down but Emery's therapists warned them against it saying it would only add to her trauma. As they added to Emery's safe room and safe space she felt more comfortable. The fact she had places to hide under things and that it held her dads photo and belongings helped Emery begin to use the room.

The room at school was also set up which all children could access if no one else was in there. It was right next to the school counsellor's office and she was able to see if anyone was in there or not. Emery had used the room a few times especially when there was relief teachers. The only people Emery would allow in the room when Emery was in there were Tucker, Lucas, Paulo, Kody and Tristan.

Tucker's father was dealt with over several days by the Quake's and was the reported missing. Tucker's mum looked after Tucker for three months before she took off with her new boyfriend. Tucker at first didn't tell anyone, but Michael had kept his word and checked up regularly on his members. He also had a soft spot for Tucker as he had helped Emery so much. So when he found Tucker alone he took care of the boy. He found a member who was willing to raise the boy like his own. Kody was now his offical guardian and he and Bentley had moved into their own place just next to the Quake house as Kody was still Emery's personal guard. Tucker was training to take over being Emery's personal guard when they headed to high school. Bentley was also Emery's personal nurse so it worked well. Kody, Bentley and Tucker were a great little family and very close with Emery.

Emery was doing well at school and Tristan moved up to teach her again. Michael wanted only trusted members around her and Emery felt comfortable with Tristan. The four kids were also still the best of friends and would often have sleep overs at the Quake's house as Michael refused to allow her to sleep anywhere else. He always said she didn't like to sleep anywhere else but the truth was none of the Quake's could bare to be away from Princess Emery. Even if they had to go away for work which had happened, one of the Quake's would stay behind to care for Emery. There was usually fights to see who got to stay behind until uncle Mike stepped down so Jasper could take over the Quake's gang permanently. Now when they had to go away for work uncle Mike remained home with Emery and enjoyed every minute of his time alone with Emmy. He hated to share the snuggles and fun with his nephew's and sons.

Jasper was happy being in charge and took to the position like a duck to water. He would ask for his fathers help when he needed it. He did leave his father in charge of checking up on the members and their families though. He and Emery would have sleep overs on Friday nights without the others knowing. Well they did know but Emery didn't need to know that. She liked having secrets from the others. Jasper and Emery would have a not so secret sleep over watching movies and snuggling together.

Emery also had secret donut runs with Seb. Saturday mornings she would sneak out of Jasper's room and Seb would be waiting for her. They would sneak off to have a donut for breakfast and then spend the morning doing something fun together. Of course, no one could know about what they did as it was all done behind her uncle's back and when he would catch them coming home, which he did every week, Emery would end up in fits of giggles because they had been caught. No one wanted to let her know that they all knew what was happening because of the joy it brought to Emery.

Taz and Chase would spend Sunday with Emery and have a sibling sleep over. It was a day for them all to catch up on the week and what was done. Emery enjoyed time with her siblings and them telling her all about her daddy. She had told them all how her mummy would hurt her and how the red snakes came over with the white powder. This upset Taz and Chase as they thought they had let Emery down a lot. She had let them know her daddy didn't even know because her mummy taught her a game to help cover the marks. They all knew then how much damage that her mother had caused and that it would take a while to help her come to terms with the fact that her mum was not actually playing a game. She would have to deal with the abuse and trauma of everything for years to come with they help of professionals.

Today Emery was self appointed flower girl. Bentley and Kody were getting married so they could legalise the adoption of Tucker. It was just a small service but Emery had insisted that she had to be the flower girl because if Kody didn't like boys he would of married her. She also made it clear it was practise for when her and Tucker were going to get married. Tucker just accepted it and went along with Emery. He would do anything to make her happy.

"Uncle Mike is my boyfriend walking me down the aisle?" Emery asked. "I'm sorry, what?" Uncle Mike spat. You see, they accepted Emery calling Tucker her husband but now she had a boyfriend as well? That was a hell no. "Well I can't walk down the aisle myself so will my boyfriend do it?" Emery asked. "Emmy who the hell is your boyfriend?" Jasper asked storming into the room followed by Seb, Taz and Chase. "Well Tucker is cause he hasn't give me a ring yet like mister Kody gave to Bentley" Emery explained. Uncle Mike breathed a sigh of relief. "You my dear are causing more grey hairs then all these boys combined, but I'm so glad we found you Emery" uncle Mike stated before kissing Emery on the head and shaking his head at the small girl. All of the Quake's were happy to have found Emery she truely brought the best out of all of them.
