Chapter 27
Chapter 27
“I’m an adult, but more importantly, I’m your teacher, I shouldn’t be swayed by money, it’s my fault”
“Wow, impressivel
Jonathan suddenly spoke up, looking at the two of them through the rearview mirror, “You guys are so loyal to each other? Why
don’t you become sworn brothers right now?”
Estelle and Henson both went silent.
Jonathan paused for a moment, then said to Henson, “It’s not wrong to stand up for justice and protect the weak when you are
sure of your own safety, but when it comes to your classmates, you don’t have to be so heavy-handed.”
Henson obediently responded with an “oh.”
“You didn’t do anything wrong overall, so I won’t scold you!”
Jonathan immediately beamed with joy. “Thank you, Uncle!”
“But, Jonathan’s tone darkened, “what about you having Ms. Macclain pretend to be your guardian? What do you have to say for
that?”
Estelle was about to speak when she saw Jonathan’s profound gaze from the mirror and immediately closed
her mouth.
Henson bowed his head, “I was wrong, and it won’t happen again!”
“Mmm, it’s not just about admitting your mistakes but also changing for the better!” Jonathan’s voice softened, then he said
casually. “There’s still one class left. Go to your class now!”
“Yes!” Henson responded, and before getting out of the car, he looked at Estelle worriedly. “Uncle, you’ve forgiven me, can you
also forgive Ms. Macclain?”
Estelle looked at Henson’s innocent eyes, and her heart suddenly softened.
“Don’t worry, I won’t fire her!” Jonathan said.
Henson felt relieved and said goodbye to them before getting out of the car and being escorted by bodyguards
into the school.
As he left, only Estelle and Jonathan were left in the car, and the atmosphere suddenly became delicate.
Just as Estelle was about to apologize again, she saw Jonathan’s lips curling in the mirror as he spoke. nonchalantly, “Has your
intelligence dropped to the level of an elementary school student? You said you were his aunt, and you just expect the teacher
would believe it?”
Estelle’s face turned pale, and she argued righteously, “First of all, elementary school students can have a high intelligence. It
was my mistake to lie and not set a good example for Henson. You can fire me, but your shouldn’t insult me or bring everyone
else down with it. Also...”
Her eyes flashed, but she didn’t continue.
Jonathan’s face remained impassive as he looked at her through the mirror, “Go on, what else?”
Estelle took a deep breath and put on a serious expression, “Henson said you like younger women, so having a young aunt is
not surprising.”
Jonathan couldn’t help but smile. He looked out the car window, his arm resting on the steering wheel, shirt cuffs rolled up,
revealing a part of his strong, elegant arm.
Estelle thought for a moment and then added, “Please don’t misunderstand. I have no intention of becoming
Henson’s aunt.”
“You’re just flattering yourself! The man interrupted her, seemingly amused, “Don’t worry, even if I do like younger women, I don’t
like underage ones. You don’t have to be afraid.”
Estelle frowned but didn’t say anything, as speaking would only lead to unnecessary suspicions.
Jonathan asked again, “You said you were bought by money, how much did Henson pay you?”
“Huh?” Estelle’s face changed slightly. Did she say such a thing?
Her intelligence must have really dropped, otherwise, why would she expose herself like this?
Feeling like she had already lost enough face today, Estelle decided to just let it out, “He said that once. everything was done, he
would persuade you to double my salary.”
Jonathan nodded, then said unhurriedly, “Henson’s study has indeed improved, and I did have plans to raise your salary before.”
Estelle’s face lit up.
“But now,” Jonathan continued, “I’ve changed my mind.”
Estelle, “...
