So Ash had finally said he loved me and I had walked away from that. Sebastian and I were still casually hooking up. Dosch had tried to reach out to me but I was done with his ass. Oak and I were getting really close lately. Having more in common than we ever realized. Jax was still working on the case and stalking Kai. My dream boyfriend had made things even more crazy.
In Poison Study I just tried to focus on the class but I couldn’t help but be hyperaware of the way too handsome guy next to me. He had lied to me, he was in bed with my enemy and he had double-crossed me for her. There was no way back. We had to be done.
He hadn’t received that memo though. He was oddly enough still pursuing me. Trying to get my attention at all costs. Like right now. Sitting so close to me our elbows touched.
I pulled mine back and gave him a death stare.
He chuckled. ‘Feisty. I like it.’
‘Shut the fuck up, Dominic.’
‘Carina, don’t be like this.’ He dropped a tone.
I glanced his way just as my phone pinged. It was Kai. What the fuck did he need from me? He hadn’t texted me in weeks.
Dosch had also seen his name. ‘What does he want?’
‘None of your business and I don’t know. We are not exactly on speaking terms.’ I opened the message and it said to meet me at the forest. There was something he wanted to discuss with me.
‘You are not meeting him right?’
I snorted. ‘And you get to decide who I meet… because?’ I wasn’t stopping.
‘Don’t be a brat, Lux. Look at me when I speak.’ He was not joking anymore and slapped his tatted hand down hard on the table.
I flinched and looked at him. Worry lacing his brow.
‘Maybe he has found something about my case… I mean. I was investigating his mom.’
‘No, he wouldn’t have.’ He growled.
‘Dosch, what are you not telling me?’
‘Just don’t go okay, promise me, amore mio. Don’t go.’ He tried to reach for my face but I slapped him off. He was done with getting touchy privileges.
He sounded so serious. I nodded and was now doubting going. He knew something.
