Chapter The Curse
Lux
To top it all off, now I also had some very erotic, strange memories of Oak through Raina. I dreamt about them every night and it didn’t really help much with the situation. Instead of my Paramirage classes Oak and I were working on removing me from my current predicament.
I was mindlessly walking around campus. Skylark blabbed in my ear about this party we were going to tonight in the Dunnager since it was a Friday. When all I could think about was Oak, and going to that party would mean I would not be able to see or hug him. It made my skin itch.
I was horny all the damn time now. Where was he anyway? I checked my phone.
‘We need to find ourselves some really cute outfits, Lux!’ Skylark threw her books in her locker and jumped in place. Giddy as all hell for the party.
Apparently one of Sebastian’s many brothers was having his birthday party there and everyone was invited. He was famous for throwing the best parties. ‘I don’t know Sky….’ I stuffed my books in my locker as well. ‘I’m not sure I’m up for a party. And Oak…-’
‘Would you stop with that Oak thing? It’s my brother's own goddamn fault he got you into this mess anyway. The best way to snap out of this curse is to just not be around him.’
‘I’m not sure that’s how that works Sky, since I could literally die without his touch and all!’
‘Or so they say!’ she was clearly not hearing my story.
‘Do you know if he has any classes now… like…. at this moment?’ My skin was itching all over. That was the sign I needed to have contact with him. NOW.
‘Normally he is in his office at this time. Prepping his class before noon.’
As soon as she uttered those words I was on my way. She was yelling some stuff at my head about tonight but I was already sprinting.
I slammed the door to his office open and ran in. But it was Asher, whom I was still avoiding, who sat on his couch. A big book on his lap.
‘Where’s Oak?’ I scratched at my arms. I nervously put a lock of my unruly hair back in place. He slammed his book closed.
‘Well hello to you too, my absent girlfriend of late.' He raised an eyebrow.
‘Where is he, Ash?’ my voice was an octave higher. Panic setting in.
‘Sweetheart relax! Come here for a second.’
‘No, where is Oak, Asher? I got no time for games!’ My voice was frantic. I needed him. Now.
‘He’s on his way here. Did it… are you okay?’ the sarcasm had slipped away. He was now in a full-on worried mood. Great. He rose to his feet. Towering over me. I kept on scratching at my arms. ‘I need him now. Could you call him please?’
Ash sighed. ‘It’s really bad huh? Goddamn it!’ He reached for his phone but at the same time, his twin brother strutted in. In his usual dark blue suit. Mr. Perfect was in the house finally.
I ran towards him and hugged him tightly. He hesitated a second and put his arms around me a few moments later. Rubbing my back soothingly. I felt all the itchiness fade like snow in the sun. I sighed in relief.
Ash snorted, clearly not amused.
‘Okay, that’s about enough of that.’ He was trying to pry me off but Oak grunted in my ear. ‘Back off Asher! She needs this right now.’
’Like hell she does. Sweet cheeks let go of him.’ He said firmly. I shook my head from side to side against his brother’s chest. ‘You can't make me let go, Ash.’
He snorted. ‘You got defense class in 10 minutes.’
‘I dropped out until I'm no longer Raina.’
‘Fuck that shit. You have not and will not drop out!’
We were having a full-on discussion while I was resting my head on his brother’s chest and while he was rubbing my back.
I growled. ‘Fuck you!’
Oak intervened before things got really heated.
‘Brother….’ He held out his hand. ‘You need to calm down. She doesn’t want to go right now, because she is not in the right headspace.’
Ash was clenching his fists. Jaw clamped tight. The vein in his neck popped up.
‘She needs this class. She is not ready for any fight… at all. Not here. Not on this planet. Not after that attack!’ Ash released a low growl. 'She was shot, Oak! Shot!'
I turned around on my heels and poked my finger at his chest. I had to tip my chin backward so I could scowl at him properly.
‘I.. don’t… give.. a … shit…’ I poked at his chest each time I uttered a word.
‘You will be at my class in five minutes or I will raise all hell on you.’ He whispered in my ear, so close I could smell the coffee on his breath. His voice was a low threat. His eyes swirling with emotion. I just scowled right back at him. Not afraid of him at all. Yet, his alpha gaze did things to me and for a second I forgot the Raina curse. Maybe this was the way out? To get under him?
‘Okay, that’s enough.’ Oak broke the tension and grabbed both of my shoulders, which Ash’s eyes followed with some emotion I couldn’t quite place.
‘If you are not in my class.’ He whispered in my ear again. ‘You will not be going to any parties anytime soon. I will make sure of that.’
My blood was boiling. ‘Is that a threat?’ I angrily whispered back. He chuckled against my ear and I got goosebumps all over.
‘Test me, baby. Just test me and you will see.’ He spanked my ass once, but hard and swaggered out of the room.
