Chapter Hot Springs (1)

I had another few drinks on the porch looking at the skyline after Kai had left and didn’t come back. His family hated me. I was grateful for Sky and the twins since they had been defending me all night. Something that I had expected from Kai, but he was more scared of his mother than I would have ever imagined he could be. Even Sebastian had helped out here and there, which was even more surprising.
As I was sitting there alone, I went through my last text messages with Dosch. He had send me a picture of his finished Moonlight Poison, which we were supposed to be working on together but he needed the distraction so he had took it upon himself to finish our project. It would be great for my grades but still I felt a little bit guilty. I was also way more intoxicated than I had planned to be, but blaming it on Kai’s mother, staring at the moon.
‘Want to get out of here?’ Ash sat himself down next to me. Pint in hand. I smiled softly at him. ‘I don’t even know what I want any more, Ash.’ That was the absolute truth.
’Well… I assume that something or someone in particular, in that house is something you don’t want.’ I slapped his arm. He didn’t need to be that upfront about it.
‘I meant the family from hell. Not Kai.’ He added coolly.
I rolled my eyes. ‘I figured what you meant.’
‘Although, I should.’ He added and sipped from the bottle again, smile crooked and alarmingly tempting. There were some serious mischievous sparkles in those grey eyes tonight.
I stayed silent and just scowled at him. He was in all black again, black jeans, black shirt, black biker jacker. His white hair was slicked back in a low bun. Giving him a dangerous look without the wildness of his mane framing his angular face. He was also supporting a five o clock shadow today, maybe that’s why he looked so different.
‘I know a place we can go too.’ he said and sipped from his beer again. ‘You will have fun, I promise.’ As if anything we did together wasn’t fun. We always made any situation work so he wasn’t lying.
I had no clue I had this adventurous side in me, but watching us run for his bike and leave all of them behind was giving me some kind of thrill I had not felt for a long time, maybe ever. I was clinging unto his muscular back as he was slinging us over ocean roads, climbing upwards with his bike towards the darkness above. The night birds were howling and chirping and the little ones that gave light were flying all around us.
He led me to this trail through a dense jungle, his right hand continuously placed on my thigh. The air still humid and smelling like rainforest. I’m not sure we were even riding on a path anymore. I could hear water running from somewhere. I tried to speak in his ear where my head was hanging, but he hushed me. ‘You will see soon enough sweet cheeks.’ He yelled conspicuously over the engine roaring. His hand grabbing my leg more tightly.
We arrived at a gigantic hot spring. Illuminated by several Fae lights. There were no other people, just us. There was a waterfall on the side and it had several interlays, waving throughout the entire thing. It looked deep though. ‘Ash, I’m not sure I can. I don’t have any bathing suit with me either.’ He was already removing his clothes and was now standing there in only his black boxer shorts which clung around his perfect ass like a second skin. I had to restrain myself from looking down at his front.
‘Well… me neither.’ He stated the obvious, winking.
‘Is it deep?’ I sheepishly stared at him, still ignoring his nakedness which was right in front of me. Feeling stupid for being this afraid of a gigantic hot tub as well.
’Not that deep.’ He chuckled. ’I got you sweetheart. This will be a perfect start to face your fears.’ He popped his crooked smile at me. ‘Now strip, baby.’
I sneered. ‘I don’t want to get this wet!’ I pointed at my outfit.
‘Than don’t wear clothes!’ He snapped back.
‘Ash!’
‘Just saying.’ He shrugged, hitting me with a cheeky smile once more.
I stared at him for a few seconds. The test clear in his eyes. I was not exactly a prude and I was feeling a little bolder than usual tonight so I will accept his challenge. I started to wiggle out of my dress. He was not removing his eyes from my body, eating it up like I was his favorite meal. I raised my eyebrows at him and he raised his arms in defense. ‘I can’t help it.’ He murmured with a sly smirk on those full lips. I rolled my eyes and continued. I was wearing a dark blue, laced bra and matching thong. Which was way too expensive to get wet really.
I was hesitating at the edge. Ash was already halfway in, his hand out to help me. I was standing there with my toes in it for the longest of time before he finally had enough. He slow walked towards me, water cascading around him. He picked me up without asking and I yelped because he was not gentle at all. He rarely was. The atmosphere was heavy. The sparkles in his eyes from earlier had now multiplied and casted out a haze of anticipation throughout this entire place.
I clasped my hands behinds his neck and wrapped my legs around his waist tightly. He walked backwards in the water until he was waist deep again, me on him this time, trying to not freak out. ‘Let go, babe.’ he whispered in my ear. Goosebumps forming on my skin. I pried my own fingers loose and let my legs fall with a shuddering sigh. I was standing up to my chest in the water, so close to him that every time I breathed in my breast caressed his chest. We were now just staring at each other. Waiting for the other one to make the first move. Our chemistry was so goddamn electrical that my entire body was buzzing from being this close to him. He scraped his throat anxiously and bless him for dropping the womanizing act with me and being as nervous as I was at this very moment. Which was strangely endearing coming from him.
‘You want to go deeper? Over there is a little nice rock we can sit on.’ He put a lock of hair behind my ears tenderly, never breaking his eye contact with me. Those eyes already holding a million pleas. I nodded, my voice was not working. He crouched down and picked me up again as we were going a little farther, my legs firmly clamped around his waist again. The natural pool was so deep that his face and mines, were the only thing above water now as we waded through it slowly. I let my chin rest on his shoulder and tried to even out my breathing. His lime scent engulfing me. I loved how he smelled. I wish I could bottle it somehow. I cannot tell you how many times I have smelled his hoodie, which I have kept safe in my closet. I felt protected in his arms though, despite the clearly deep waters. That spoke more to me than he would ever realize.
