Chapter 30 Epilogue
Dear diary,
It's been quite a while since the last time I wrote. A lot had happened though. It turned out my life isn't so boring after all. I've never thought that being adopted by a vampire couple would be this exciting. I mean... Now that I'm a vampire myself, I know that my life wouldn't be so dull. Yes, I'm a vampire now! Can you believe it? I hardly believed it myself, but apparently this is reality now and I have to accept it whether I like it or not. It's not all vile anyway. I have these new super powers and I would be lying if I say I don't like them.
What I don't like is that Daddy is even stricter than he was before. He even set me some new rules about using my power for "proper usage only"; he said and I quoted. He even forbids me to eat (human blood in this case) without his or Mom's permission. Let alone compel anybody. I would do it anyway. But he probably saw that coming, come to think of it. That's why he set the rules for me.
On the other hand, my uncle, Stefan, seems like a really fun guy. Unlike Dad, who is very strict and all, Stefan can be a figure of fun. Although he gave up my little secret place, I think he was being reasonable. I've always known that Dad made him told the truth. Knowing my Dad, he would even threaten his brother to take the truth out of him.
Uncle Stefan, Aunt Care, and Emily live here with us now. They wanted to move out to another house near us, but Mom and Dad told them to stay. After all, this house is theirs too. At first, they refused to stay with the reason of not wanting to 'intrude' our family, but after lots and lots of persuasion and insistence, they finally gave in and decided to live with us.
Don't get me wrong, I love having more people in our house as a company. The only problem is I don't really like Emily. Ughhhh... That little girl is just so whiny about every single little thing and she always makes me irritated. I have a feeling this is not going to end up good between me and that little girl. I swear, if she ever gets me into trouble, I'd kill her. Literally speaking.
Speak of the devil, I can hear her whining from up here. She's in the living room downstairs for God sake! Ugh... Sometimes this vampire hearing can be really annoying. Especially when that spoiled little girl whines and talks in her high-pitch voice. But I wouldn't complaint too much about the vampire hearing though. It comes in handy most of the time.
It's like that little girl's whine is not enough, my sore ass makes me even more irritated. Geez!! Dad's spanking always hurt and stingy! Even with vampire healing and stuff, the pain always lasts long. Two days had already passed by since the last time dad gave me a spanking, but I still can feel the pain. I have to admit that dad is so strong. Especially when he's pissed off.
What did I do, you ask? Well, it's actually a long story, but I'm going to cut it short because first, I don't have all day to tell the story and two, I have something important to do after I finish writing this entry of my diary. Yep, I'm up to another mischief, if you haven't guessed already.
So, it all began with a brilliant idea of pranking my uncle Stefan. What?? I know he's kind and all, but I was just being myself and gave him a little welcome-to-our-home prank. It was a small harmless prank that went wrong and caused everyone in panic, but turned to be a funny and hilarious moment at the same time. At least that's how I see it, but that's not how Dad sees it though. And my ass had to pay for it. I didn't see it coming at all and I wasn't looking forward to face that spanking (or any other spanking for that matter).
So... Let's get on to the story. I knew that Stefan loves his car so much. You know... Guys with their obsession with cars. So, I decided to screw with his car. I've done it before, when I was still in the orphanage and I succeeded then, so I was positive that I was gonna succeed again. At first it went well, but then I kinda set the car on fire. Accidentally, I swear!! I didn't mean to set the car on fire and ruined his car to the point where it couldn't be fixed. I would never do something that evil on purpose, with the exception of getting revenge to someone, of course.
Everyone hurried to the garage when they smelled something burning and I was kinda making our little household in panic. Then I grabbed the fire extinguisher from far corner of the garage and discharged it. The extinguisher released loads of foam and I was aiming it at the car. When I stopped, I realized Dad was standing there covered in foam from the extinguisher. I had to bit lower lip to prevent myself from laughing out loud at the sight. I could also see everyone else tried to hold back their laughter, except for Dad, of course. Mom tried to give me a stern look, but I knew she was trying to hold back laughter by covering it and turning it into coughs.
Dad was looking mad with those arms crossed over his chest and serious expression on his face. No, actually... Mad was totally an understatement. He was furious and uptight. But I still don't see the reason why he had to be mad at me. Uncle Stefan wasn't even mad. He was caught off guard to see his precious car had been burned, yes, but he wasn't angry at me. Then why should Dad be furious at me? Stefan even laughed for a moment when he saw the sight of Dad covered in foam from the extinguisher, but stopped when Dad gave him a death glare.
Then after that, as you can predict, my dear father gave me a long boring lecture about respecting others by not pulling pranks on them. Then after that, he gave me the dreaded spanking on my bare ass with his hand and my hairbrush. It hurts a lot and for the rest of the day, I couldn't even sit! But it was nothing compared to the paddling he gave me a week before for using my powers for the wrong purpose.
Well, I've learned my lesson. At least that's what I told him ;) LOL! No, I didn't learn my lesson, nor ever will I! Everyone knows I'm not going to stop pulling pranks on people. It's my specialty. I don't want to stop just because of the spanking Dad gave me. And no... I'm not looking forward to another spanking anytime soon or like ever. But it's not actually possible when you have a Dad like my Dad and a prankster mind like me. I tell you... It's not a good match at all. I just don't want to stop having so much fun. In fact... Remember when I said that I'm up to another mischief? Well, today is the day! Today is my mom's birthday and I'm going to give her a little present. Let's just hope she likes it ;) Okay then, I'm gonna end this entry here because I am going to have some fun. Peace out!

Becca closed her diary book and put her pen down. She opened a drawer next to her bed and shoved it in, placing it in a hidden place where nobody would see. After closing the drawer, Becca's eyes diverted to a box which had been wrapped up and placed on the top of her desk. She smirked mischievously. Then she leapt out of bed, grabbed the box from the desk, and scurried downstairs. She hid the box behind her while striding to her mother, who was sitting on the couch in the living room, chatting with Caroline.
"Hey Mom?" Becca started. Her statement drew everyone's attention in the room.
"Yeah sweetie?" Elena answered, glanced up at her daughter.
Becca showed her innocent smile. "Happy birthday Mom! Here's something for you," she said, bringing out the pretty box from behind her and gave it to Elena.
Elena was astonished and looked like she was about to burst up in happy tears at any second. She was in awe as like everyone else in the room. From the corner of her eyes, Becca could see Damon raised one of his eyebrows while leaning against a door frame and crossing his arms. Although he got a half smile on his lips, his eyes gazed suspiciously at Becca as if he knew she was up to something.
Elena held the box in her hand and gave Becca a really tight hug.
"Thank you sweetie," Elena thanked her.
"You're welcome. Why don't you open it Mom," Becca suggested. She still got that innocent smile tugged on her lips.
"Of course," Elena said, wiping a couple of tears that escaped her eyes. Then, she started unwrapping the wrapping papers.
Becca stood back from the box before Elena opened it. When she did, the box exploded with a very loud sound followed by a large amount of glitter popped out from inside the box and scattered everywhere. Everyone jolted up and gasped in surprise, wasn't expecting something like that to happen, except for Emily and Becca.
Despite of the tensed situation, Emily clapped her hands and shouted gleefully, "Glitters!!!!" with the look on her face that said 'I love glitters!!' It looked like she enjoyed the show as she looked so cheerful.
Becca couldn't hold back her laughter. She burst out laughing right there and then while everyone else were still in shock.
Elena stood there in shock. Her hair, face, and body all covered up in glitters. Damon walked over to Elena, asking her if she was alright and making sure she didn't get hurt. After he was certain that Elena was okay, Damon turned to Becca. His eyebrows knitted together as he glared at Becca expectantly, waiting for her explanation.
Becca seemed not to notice that and continued laughing her ass off.
"Rebecca, I don't think this is funny," Damon warned her in his deep voice.
"Oh, but it is," Becca retorted in between her chortles.
Damon scowled. "Rebecca," Damon warned her again. His voice seemed to drop a few octaves. It always happened every time he was mad.
"What Daddy? It is funny," Becca replied, emphasizing 'is'. She shrugged her shoulders like it wasn't a big deal.
"No, it isn't. Someone could've gotten hurt by your prank," Damon said with a dead serious expression.
Becca rolled her eyes. Daddy always makes a big deal out of everything. I was just having a little fun, she thought.
Like reading her mind, Damon said, "Just because you want to have a little fun, it doesn't make it okay for you to glitter-bombing someone like that. Especially to your mother on her birthday. It's mean." "Loosen up, Damon. It's just a prank," responded someone from behind.
Damon turned around, just to find his brother standing there with a smirk on his face.
"Great job, Becca," Stefan complimented her. He approached Becca and gave her a high five. Becca grinned.
"Thank you," she said, making a bow and they laughed.
"And thanks for the help," she added with a wink.
"Wait a second...," Damon interrupted, "You're at her side throughout this whole glitter-bomb prank, Stefan?" "Yes, brother," Stefan beamed.
"Are you kidding me?" Damon replied unbelievably.
Elena looked at Stefan incredulously. "Stefan...!" Elena complained, more like whining.
"Why would you do something like this? It's rude, you moron!" Elena said, throwing some glitters toward him and he swiftly shielded himself from them. Everyone laughed at the scene.

"Are you kidding? I've always wanted to do that, but never had the guts to do so. Thanks to my brilliant niece, now my life is complete," Stefan answered, smiling smugly.
"I can't believe now I have to deal with two rebellious teenagers," Damon stated jokingly, rolling his eyes.
"Hey!" Stefan complained, "I'm not a teenager."
"You act like one," Elena responded, clearly still annoyed by the prank. She tried to rub off the glitters from her skin, but it was pointless.
"Yeah, you act like one," Damon agreed.
"What's up with you, grandpa? You used to be a lot more fun," Stefan teased with a triumph smile on his lips.
"Are we seriously doing this right now?" Damon asked him with raised eyebrows. That brought everyone's laughter once again.
"Hey Mom," Becca stated, "Your real present is inside the box, by the way. Whether you open it or not is your decision." She smiled.
Elena thought about it for a while and leaned over to grab the box, but Damon prevented her to do so.
"I know my daughter. She wouldn't stop with just one prank," Damon stated.
He looked inside the box and found a smaller box. He touched it very carefully and Becca rolled her eyes in response. After making sure there wasn't another trap inside, Damon grabbed the box and held it in his hand. Damon narrowed his eyes, giving Becca a suspicious look.
Once again, Becca rolled her eyes. "No, Daddy. There's no more glitter bombs, no more other pranks, it's just a present." Damon didn't seem convinced. He stared at Becca doubtingly. "Are you sure there's no more prank?" he inquired.
"Yes, I am sure Daddy. If you don't trust me, why don't you open it yourself."
After a brief silence, Damon sighed. "Fine," he said.
He glanced at the smaller box for a while before pulling the top of the box. Once again, there was another glitter explosion with another loud sound, but that time, the target of victim was Damon and bam! it hit the bulls'-eye. Becca burst into laughter once again as she watched the whole scene in clear amusement and Damon gave her a death glare.
"You're right, Dad. I wouldn't stop with just one prank," Becca beamed. Her eyes were shimmering with mischievousness and triumph.
Stefan burst out laughing. "I'm sorry. I can't hold it any longer," he said, chuckling, "This is just too funny."
"Nothing about this is funny, Stefan," Damon said irritatingly. Becca knew her dad had reached his limits by then. If they were in a cartoon movie, fume had already come out from his ears. Imagining if that really happened, Becca started giggling.
Stefan tried to turn his laughs into coughs, but it resulted in laughing even louder than he was before. "I'm sorry. It's just...," he took a breath in between his chortles, "It's just I remember you've always said how you hated glitters and now you are covered in them."
It made Elena and Caroline looked at each other and chuckled.
"Oh, yeah? Let see if you can handle this," Damon said and threw some glitters, aiming for his brother. Unlike before, Stefan couldn't avoid it that one. Some glitters were sticking on his skin.
Damon chuckled. It seemed like he was cooling down a little bit as he didn't look mad anymore.

"You wanna play dirty Damon? Game on," Stefan said, grasping a party popper from his pocket. He pulled the string and it made another loud pop noise. More glitters were blown out once again, but that time with confetti. Damon used his vampire speed to avoid it and the confetti and glitters were landed on Caroline, who happened to be standing behind Damon.
Caroline gazed at Damon and Stefan back and forth. "You're kidding me, right?" she said incredulously, making everyone chuckled.
Caroline bent down to fetch some glitters on the floor and threw them swiftly toward both Stefan and Damon.
And just like that, the glitter war started. Becca slipped out her phone and recorded the whole scene without them noticing. She couldn't believe the glitter war would occur between them. They were practically adults, but then it felt like they weren't. It looked like each one of them really enjoyed it and had a lot of fun. Even Damon took pleasure in it.
Damon's rage seemed to have subsided completely and he looked like he had a really good time.
Damon was being so goofy; the side of him that Becca had never seen before and she was grateful she could see that side of him.
Daddy could be really scary and terrifying sometimes, but he can also be really fun and silly when he wants to. He isn't all strict and stern after all, Becca thought. She smiled at her own thought.
Becca lost in her thought for a moment before realizing the room went silent and everyone looked at her with that evil smirk on their faces. Becca was the only person in the room that hadn't covered in glitters yet.
"Uh-oh," she mumbled as she realizing what would happen next.
"Uh-oh is right little munchkin," Damon replied with that smirk on his face and ran toward her.
Becca's eyes went wide and she used her vampire speed almost immediately to avoid the attack. She ran around the room and they had to chase her down for the whole three minutes before finally tackling her down and attacking her with glitters.
The room filled with laugher and delights. In just a really short time, Becca was already a mess. She was covered in glitters, like everyone else in the room, and it seemed like they weren't gonna stop the glitter attack on her anytime soon. "Stop! Stop!" Becca screeched abruptly. She put a hand over her right eye and she looked like she was in pain. The room went silent almost immediately. Everyone looked at her, concerned. The relaxed situation replaced by a tensed one. "I think some glitters went into my eye," she told them.
"Oh God! Let me see your eye, Becca," Damon said, immediately growing concerned. Everyone was growing uptight.
Becca slowly put her hand away from her eye. She groped her pocket and a smirk grew on her lips.
"Amateurs," she scoffed, giggling. She slipped out a can of silly string spray and attacking everyone in the room with it, making a huge of mess. She laughed so hard while spraying the silly string in their faces and no one could do nothing about it. Nobody in the room could believe they just got fooled by a teenager. An unruly one indeed. At the end, Becca was the one who had the last laugh.
Becca discreetly promised to herself to always remember that amazing slash silly day. That was absolutely one of the greatest days of her life and she would keep it in her heart forever.
Becca had never been so grateful to be adopted by Damon and Elena. She knew she was lucky to have parents like them, and a close family like Stefan and Caroline, even Emily too. And of course, Alaric. Becca believed that nothing in her life was a coincidence. She knew she was destined to be in this family all along. Nobody had to tell her that, she just knew it.
She was lucky and she knew that. Even if it meant have to live with tons of rules, Damon's overprotectiveness, and those countless times of spanking. Becca knew everyone there loved and cared about her, especially her Mom and Dad. She was home and there was no other place like one.
Becca still had a long way to go. A long journey to step forward to. An amazing life to live for. She didn't know what awaited her in the future, but she was certain of one thing: this was just the beginning. ~~~~ THE END ~~~~
