Fentanyl E001: The Mysterious Experiment(Book 1)

Chapter 25: Decisive Clash

Nisha's Point of View

The 23rd of December. That night passed, and what I had seen in my dream lingered in my thoughts. Is this a silly dream, or will it come true someday? I'm not sure where to look for him because his face is strange to me. Daddy Truce would have known about that if that was the case. Daddy has vanished, and I have no idea where he has gone.

"Are you prepared for tomorrow? If Grandpa knows where the battle will take place, he will send a message later," Shawn was the one who inquired. Following the training, Shawn followed me. My body is built to be a risk-taker and a fighter, so it's no longer a challenge for me.

"Yes, I am. However, I am unfamiliar with the others, including you," I could hear him groan.

"We are born with the ability to be prepared. We've also received extensive training," he stated.

That dream was never truly forgotten in my imagination. Is it true that I've been separated from my brother for a long time? Daddy Truce was completely silent about it.

"I noticed you were floating earlier, Nisha. When we have our training, you're preoccupied as well. Is there any sort of issue? You are welcome to share it with me. I know you were thinking intently again when you closed your mind."

I take a deep breath. It's not so bad if I mention that. Shawn is not a stranger to me.

"Do you have any knowledge of my past? What was I like before?" Before he spoke, we were both staring at each other.

"Yes and no," my brow furrowed in response to his response. What exactly does he mean?

"I demand that you enlighten me," I said.

He raised his eyes to the devastation.

He raised his eyes to the devastation.

"As a sick youngster, I am familiar with you. But I have no idea how long you've been alive. I only know you have a horrible father, but I haven't seen his face. Yumi was his nickname for you, and he adopted it as your second name," he took a breather. It was as if I had foreseen the outcome. "I saw you in the garden. You previously stated that it was your mansion. You have numerous bruises on your body. On the face and throughout the body," because of what I had heard, I became even more enraged with my father. I guess I'm still blessed that Daddy Truce treated me like one of his own daughters.

"What's next?" I asked.

"I was attempting to assist you. But I haven't been able to do it since I was seven years old. My grandmother is a severe woman, and she was staring at me at the time. Instead of assisting you or conversing with you, I was terrified of my grandmother and preferred to return home."

I'm pretty sure I understand why he said yes and no to me. Yes, he was aware of my existence at the time. My name, perhaps. And no, he doesn't know anything about my life.

I was speechless because I didn't know what to say. Because there is no response to my inquiry, it stays a question.

"Why?" He asked again.

"Last night, I was experiencing a dream. I'm not sure whether that's true, but all of my nightmares have come true. In my dream, I encountered a man who addressed me as a sister. Is it possible that I have a sibling?" I inquired. I saw that he, too, is a deep thinker. I'm unable to read his thoughts, and he appears to have closed the window as well.

"You're the only one in the garden, as far as I recall. Please accept my sincere apologies if I am unable to assist you. However, I recommend that you consult with your father," I inhaled deeply once more. Why is it so difficult? I'm not sure how to respond or where to go for an answer.

Just as I was going to say something, a voice interrupted us.

"There's no need to inquire of me. I'll give you an honest answer," at the same time, Shawn and I moved our gaze to the door. I was overjoyed right away.

"Dad!" It was a happy exclamation from me. I had the appearance of a youngster, and I was overjoyed because my father had brought me something. But this isn't the case; I simply miss him. We haven't seen each other in a few days because he lives too far away.

I took a step forward after seeing him smile. He sat down in a chair and drew a long breath.

"What have you been up to?" I inquired, my curiosity piqued. Shawn remained mute, but he continued to listen.

"I have some essential business to attend to," he simply said with a nod. I understand what he's saying. His world does not revolve entirely around us. He has a lot of secrets. I'm sure he'll seek vengeance for Kimeniah's death as well. When it comes to Kimeniah, however, I have an odd feeling. Something tells me she's still alive.

He begins, "About your brother." My expression went solemn almost instantly. So, yes, I've been without a brother for a long time. I'm curious as to where he is right now. Is he planning to stay in Ottawa? I'd like to speak with him. He might know something about our father.

"Can you tell me his name?" I instantly inquired of him.

"Well, I'm afraid I can't respond to that. I'll simply state what I know," he gazed at me initially before continuing, "I don't know all about it because I relocated here to Ottawa City. It's true that you have a brother. But neither do I know his name. He lives in Bytrans City, that's all I know. He's also not with your father. He's been isolated from the rest of the group. Someone also adopted him, although I don't know anything about them. As far as I know, his new parents are well-off. I never saw him again, and the last time we saw each other was when he was twelve and you were two," Daddy Truce explained.

A mix of emotions flooded over me as I absorbed this newfound information. I have a brother, and he's living in another city, isolated from our father's influence. The fact that he was adopted by a well-off family added to the mystery surrounding his life. I couldn't help but wonder what his name was and what kind of life he's been living all these years.

"I wish I could tell you more, Nisha, but that's all I know. Your brother's whereabouts have been a mystery to me as well," Daddy Truce said with a hint of sadness in his voice.

"It's okay, Daddy Truce. Thank you for sharing what you do know. At least now I know that I have a brother out there," I replied, trying to hold back the surge of emotions inside me.

Daddy Truce gave me a comforting smile and placed a hand on my shoulder. "If you ever want to find him, I'll do whatever I can to help you. Just remember, you have a family here, and we'll always support you," he said reassuringly.

"Is he the same as me?" I asked, hoping to understand more about my brother.

Dad shook his head and told me to relax for now. He advised that it might not be the appropriate time to meet my brother, especially with the impending war. Perhaps, after the conflict is over, I could consider finding him. If my friends and allies are unable to accompany me, I am prepared to travel alone in search of him.

"He's just a regular guy. In your dream, what did you see?" Dad inquired.

"He's being pursued by someone. And we're all running for our lives. He is, without a doubt, a target," I explained to Daddy Truce, trying to convey the urgency and danger I felt in that dream.

Dad appeared thoughtful for a moment. "Bytrans is also in turmoil. There's a ninja there as well, and they're on the lookout for people who have become secret agents," he revealed, which only added to my nervousness.

As the time for the battle approached, my anxiety grew. The thought of facing dangerous enemies, finding my brother, and protecting my loved ones all weighed heavily on my mind. I knew that the upcoming days would be challenging, but I was determined to face them with courage and strength. The fate of many lives rested on our shoulders, and I was ready to fight for justice and protection against the sinister forces that threatened our world.

I couldn't afford to waste any time; the upcoming conflict needed to be resolved swiftly. My brother's safety was at stake, and I had a strong feeling that he was aware of my existence. The recurring dream seemed to serve as a connection between us. I couldn't bear the thought of losing anyone dear to me, especially now that I knew I had a brother to protect.

After my conversation with Dad, we headed straight to the meeting room. I found everyone there, including Tita Asuncion, already preparing for tomorrow's battle. Despite the impending danger, I saw no signs of fear in their eyes. They were determined to instill bravery in me, knowing that this fight was not just for our safety, but for the well-being of countless others.

Mr. Shione addressed the group, acknowledging that the upcoming day would be challenging and that he would fight alongside us. We were all aware that sacrifices might be necessary, and the gravity of the situation hung heavily in the air.

As I observed my comrades, I noticed their resolute expressions and the dedication they held towards Mr. Shione, their leader. They seemed prepared to give their all for the cause, and I felt a sense of camaraderie and unity amongst us. We were in this together, and I was determined to do whatever it took to protect my loved ones and put an end to the chaos that threatened our lives.

Dad stood beside me, silently absorbing Mr. Shione's words. Despite any concerns about the lack of staff, Mr. Shione set those thoughts aside for the moment to address the impending war.

"Tomorrow will be a bloodbath. We must remain vigilant at all times. We're waiting for my father's message to see if there's a possibility of avoiding the battle. I can't fathom what's going on in his mind, and we must exercise caution. Our numbers are fewer, and he has a substantial force," he emphasized.

Indeed, he was right. We were at a clear disadvantage in this situation. While Mr. Shione had devoted personnel, their numbers were not sufficient to face the looming threat. Our opponents were inherently more inclined towards evil, making it all the more imperative for us to give our all and fight for our lives. There was no one else to stand up for us, and Red-In-A01's intentions remained a mystery. We couldn't tell if they were allies or enemies, and tomorrow's events would reveal the truth.

Tita Asuncion appeared worried, and I empathized with her feelings. Her time in the mental institution left her unaware of the turmoil brewing in Ottawa City. She had little time to relax or enjoy life with Shawn. Nevertheless, I hoped that one day, she would find the opportunity to do so.

Someone entered the room and handed a paper to Mr. Shione, announcing, "The message is here." Mr. Shione took a deep breath, visibly tense, and cautiously opened the paper. After reading its contents in private, he finally announced it aloud to everyone present.

"The battle will take place at Ottawa's Green University. It's located in the middle of nowhere, at seven o'clock in the evening," he declared.

The news of the specific location and time of the battle left a sense of urgency in the room. We all knew that the decisive moment was fast approaching, and there was no room for hesitation. The gravity of the situation weighed heavily on our shoulders, and we understood the risks involved. With a shared determination, we prepared ourselves for the impending clash, knowing that the outcome would shape our future.
