Fentanyl E001: The Mysterious Experiment(Book 1)

Chapter 23: Redemption's Triumph

Nisha's Point of View

"I appreciate it," I heard him whisper, and it was enough for me to recognize the scent and know who it belonged to, Shawn.

As a result, I was grinning.

My eye color is something I'm already aware of. I was so startled when I was given a mirror because it was midnight black. There wasn't a single speck of white in it. Because of my eyes, it appeared as if I had been possessed by a demon, although I am still normal. Daddy Truce insisted on making artificial eyes for me to hide the alterations.

"Thank you so much for helping save my mother's life. I owe you a great deal," I smiled.

I never thought I'd want a man to transform my life in my entire existence. I'm not flawless, that's for sure. Even though I'm going through a lot of changes right now, he still accepts me. Maybe it's a cliché, but I had a strong reaction to the man in front of me. However, I didn't tell him that. Everything is still a jumble, and I'd want to clean up the mess that Mr. Shon has created.

"You have no idea how concerned I was earlier. I spent three hours looking for the two of you," with a smile on my lips, I merely stared at him.

Daddy Truce was taken aback when he saw me smiling. He didn't believe that leaving the mansion would make much of a difference to me. I recalled what he had said-

"I know Fentanyl is flowing through your veins, but that doesn't change the fact that you're still my daughter. I may not be your biological father, but I'm willing to be your parent, and I hope that's enough."

That was the thing that made my heart melt. There was already enough of it. They were giving me an excessive amount of information. I just had one request: to put an end to this upheaval. Spending more time with them was something I'd like to do. Shawn claimed that if he was not healed, he would lose his memories. To me, this wasn't a huge problem. If I ever forgot the memories we've shared, I'd create new ones for us.

"Nisha," when he called me by my name, I blinked twice.

"Yes?" He drew me back and hugged me tightly. He rubbed his nose against my neck, making me feel uneasy. It was my first experience with it, and I wasn't used to it.

"Let's go on a date after the battle, baby. Please promise me that we will live longer and survive. Because if you aren't, I will do everything in my power to ensure that you live and stay with me forever."

I'm all teary-eyed now. Shawn's voice had both sadness and yearning in it, and I could sense it. I gave him two nods, indicating that I understood his message. I sensed that his grandfather's problem was coming to an end, and I swore that I would do everything in my power to win the next battle.

"I promise," I muttered, and I hugged him in return. I adore him and can't seem to get enough of his presence. I feel different whenever I'm with him, and he's a significant reason why I'm still here, fighting. I've experienced a lot of difficulties, but those challenges have made me brave. I've learned how to fight and how to solve the issues I've encountered. With their help, I swear I will triumph over this battle and the tempest that has engulfed my life.

We parted from the embrace when someone sneezed. Rebecca and Christopher had already been spotted. Christopher had wrapped his arms around Rebecca. I don't know how they're related, but I'm going to back them up, and I can see that they're a good match for each other.

"Go to the conference room. Your grandfather sent you a note," Christopher replied, his gaze fixed on Shawn.

That's it. I understand that this is all about the fight. Nonetheless, we're grateful that we did the same things before we became a couple when we didn't have a fight. We don't know how everything will turn out, but one thing is certain: I'm not going to let them beat us.

While our hands were interlaced, Shawn and I walked to the meeting room, and the two of them followed just behind us. I couldn't help but think that Rebecca likes Shawn. Is the wind blowing differently now?

Except for Daddy Truce and Shawn's mother, they were all there when we arrived. His mother was presumably sleeping, and I wasn't sure where Daddy Truce was. He's a complete enigma, and I have no way of knowing what he's thinking. Is it possible that he's also a participant in the experiment? With a shake of my head, I expressed my dissatisfaction with the situation. There isn't a chance. Perhaps he's simply being cautious and covert.

We sat in the chairs designated for us right away. They were merely quiet now that we were here. I could sense the atmosphere's tension. All eyes turned to Mr. Shione when he cleared his throat.

He swallowed hard, and I could tell he was nervous. "I received a letter from him," he said. "It's all about war." Nathalie and Rebecca gasped in disbelief when they heard that. I was used to it, yet it still made me nervous, not for myself, but for the people around me.

"How do you feel about it, Dad?" Shawn inquired as he stood alongside me.

"Nisha saved my wife, and I am eternally thankful to her. We have no idea why this happened. But I'm sure Scarlette did something about it, and because she's already gone, it'll go untold. My wife is okay right now, and she's simply recharging her energy. There is no longer any Fentanyl in her system."

Mr. Shione's statement was met with silence. I, too, was deep in contemplation. What's the matter with my blood?

"All right, let's get back to our topic. My father wrote a letter for us. The war's specifics have been written down there. It will be the 24th of December, and it appears that we will be celebrating Christmas with blood. We must be prepared. Since we don't have any monsters on our side, we don't know how to defeat them. Unless Red-In-A01 comes to the rescue, which I doubt," he continued. I had no idea who Red-In-A01 was. They didn't name the mastermind, but I know Mr. NO is the organization's boss. He's hunkered down in his shadow. And we're not sure if he's a friend or an enemy.

"What are we going to do now?" Dylan inquired with his baritone voice. I'm sure they're well-trained and fortunate not to be among the students who have been kidnapped.

"We'll fight for as long as we possibly can. We must concentrate our efforts on training in the remaining days. This is only a concept of mine. I'm sure Red-In-A01 is aware of it as well, and we have no idea what's going on in their heads. Either he defeats us, or he forces us to take sides. I'm hoping they'll go with the latter option."

Hope. That's all we've got.

"Is that everything there is to the letter?" Mr. Shione let out a sigh and shook his head.

Mr. Shione stated, "He's not going to fight us on one condition."

"What kind of situation are you in?" Nathalie posed the question, and it's one that I'm thinking about as well.

He said, "We're going to give Nisha back to him."

Shawn got out of his chair right away.

"There isn't a chance! I'm not going to let him get away with it! I'm not going to let my sister's sacrifice go to waste," he exclaimed.

"That is something I am aware of, son. That is why I am appealing to all of you to fight and put our lives on the line," Mr. Shione stated. "Asuncion-your mother-has been saved by Nisha. And I'm going to do everything I can to protect Nisha so I can repay her," he went on to say more.

I just sat quietly and listened to them. Something unusual has happened to me. Something in my heart tells me that there is life where we believed it had died. Scarlette or Kimeniah, perhaps? I'm hoping my assumptions are incorrect.

Third Person's Point of View

A meeting was held with members of the Peur Organization. Mr. Shon talked about their strategy for the upcoming fight, which would begin next week.

He commanded, "Kill them." His henchmen were perplexed by his order. Someone had the audacity to inquire.

"But why is that the case? They're participants in the study. Despite not being able to combat Fentanyl, I am confident that they are still useful," a man stated, and everyone agreed with his words.

"That is something I am aware of. That is why I am requesting that you all kill them. I'm very aware of Nisha's flaws. She was terrified of dead bodies and would faint if she came across one," Mr. Shon's message was readily received by everyone.

Mr. Shon is incapable of fighting fairly. He's always looking for ways to exploit people's flaws. Now, he'll rely on Nisha's frailty as a defense mechanism.

"Prepare Kimeniah's body. We'll do everything we can to get her to wake up, even if she's still unconscious," Mr. Shon commanded. They all nodded at the same time. They were now prepared to battle and kill mercilessly. Mr. Shon had educated them in this manner.

Mr. Shon is still perplexed as to who the new organization's head is, but he doesn't seem to give a damn. He is ready to defeat all of his foes.

He spoke to himself before smiling demonically.

"If you don't bring back what is mine, this city will be in shambles. I promised my wife that no one would be able to stop me and that everything would be fine. Everything will be under my control."
