Fell Into His Love Trap (Skylar and Tobias)

Chapter 797 I Promised My Wife

The Golden Gala had extended invitations to numerous young actors for their grand event. Among them was Skylar, who had received the coveted opportunity to deliver a solo performance which was a significant role in the show.

The director initially planned on giving Saorise the spot, but she was unable to make it as her schedule was packed.

Backstage, Skylar saw Molly in the dressing room. The latter was going to sing in a group and wouldn't get too much screen time.

There were too many trainees, so it was getting harder and harder for Molly to make her debut.

As Molly stood behind her, Skylar could sense the intensity of Molly's gaze burning into the back of her head, even without turning around. The palpable tension in the room made it clear that Molly's expression was anything but friendly; it felt as if she wanted to devour Skylar whole with her piercing glare.

"Did you even watch the video? I reached out to you, hoping to be friends, but you and your mother treated me like that. My mom's mental condition is deteriorating because of this. If anything happens to her, can you handle the responsibility?"

They were surrounded by the bustling staff, and Molly didn't bother lowering her voice. The sudden outburst silenced the room. With all eyes now fixed on Skylar and Molly, their private conflict lay bare for everyone to witness.

Skylar felt embarrassed, but she had to feign calmness.

"I have yet to ask. Please refrain from talking nonsense, as it might affect our reputation," she reminded Molly.

The latter gave her shoulder a forceful pat. "I know a lot about you. We can sit down and have a talk when we're both free. I believe you had a great time in the detention center, huh?"

As Molly whispered those words into Skylar's ear, an unsettling shiver ran down the latter's spine. Only a few people know about that. Who leaked this information to Molly? How did she find out about that?

The past incident was a sensitive topic for Skylar, one she wished to keep buried and forgotten. It had caused her to take a semester off from school, and she had hoped that by not discussing it, no one would ever discover the truth.

Unfortunately, she had overlooked

the fact that secrets had a way of resurfacing. With her rise to fame, Skylar feared that the media would delve into her past and

sensationalize the matter. She had long let go of any longing for her absent father.

Oscar breathed a sigh of relief as he put pen to paper, signing his name on the strategic collaboration project contract with Ford Group.

He held Tobias' hands tightly and

bowed, a gesture of respect and gratitude. Observing the exchange, one of Oscar's employees took note of the humbleness in his actions and castra quick glance at Tobias, who maintained his characteristic air of indifference.

"Mr. Ford, dinner's on me tonight. I've already reserved a private room for us, so let's drink our hearts out! The ladies there are gorgeous, and we can feast our eyes on them!" Oscar extended a warm invitation He had poured a lot of effort into dinner by getting someone to deliver red wine from a vineyard in F Nation.

Tobias rejected his invitation. "I promised my wife I'd be home tonight. We'll meet up another day."

The news of Tobias having a wife caught everyone off guard. They hadn't heard about him getting married and wondered if he kept it a secret.

They marveled at Tobias's apparent devotion to his wife as he obediently followed her instructions to go home.

Hearing that, Oscar bade goodbye to Tobias.

Susan had booked three separate flight tickets for Tobias with different departure times. However, to her surprise, Tobias disregarded all her efforts and instead opted to have his driver take him home.

She couldn't believe her ears. Tobias hated wasting time, and driving home via the highway would take a total of three hours.

In the car, Tobias turned his attention to Susan, who was seated in the passenger seat, and inquired, "What time does the Golden Gala start? Can I stream it on my phone?"

Susan was caught off guard. As

Tobias' dedicated assistant, she had

sacrificed much of her personal time for work. In the past few years, she didn't 't even watch any TV dramas and rarely switched on the TV, let alone know what time the Golden Gala would begin.
