Feelings through poetry

Chapter Poem 21 - Sadness

As I stare at the ground,

My tears are dry,

After all, I just wanted to cry.

So you cry at your place,

Tears cover half of your face.

The room is dark,

The times are stark,

You only curl up on your bed and cry.

You want to be alone,

You feel like you suck, but it’s probably only bad luck.

You tell yourself the times will be better,

Remember you received a letter to the school, you wanted to attend, now not even useful.

As I stare at the ground,

My eyes are dry, but it was at least a try.

When you want to cry,

No tears come out,

So you try to cry,

But have to hold it inside.

On the outside, you look healthy,

You read a book,

It’s only a temporary sadness.

I cried till my tears were dried, only for a wave of new tears to appear.

Now I have a sore throat,

Nothing floats my boat.

You tell yourself times will be better, that it’ll come to an end.

But the end doesn’t seem to be happening,

Your sadness keeps growing.

I know that I suck,

I tell myself it’s only bad luck.

As I stare at the ceiling,

My tears are dry,

Not sure if I can still cry.

A heavy feeling on my chest,

It’s not the best, especially when I screwed up a test.

I cried at my own pace,

The tears covered half of my face,

Soon they didn’t leave a trace.

My throat feels sore because I’m sad; I felt tore.

I stare at myself in the mirror,

The only thing I can feel is terror.
