Chapter Poem 19 - Pain
Wind blows,
The river flows,
The crow caws,
The sun glows,
The grass grows,
A person feels low, sitting beside the flowing river,
The wind blowing,
The sun no longer shining.
The clouds are in the sky, so high, where butterflies fly.
The person picks up a branch, looking for a detachment,
A distract, from the pain, as they draw on the ground,
The leaves fall.
Between the person and the world is an invisible wall.
Everything black,
The sky is black,
The crow is black,
The sun glowing is no longer back.
Light in their life lacks.
A dog comes to their sight, licking their paw.
But, when reaching their hand, the dog disappears into the fog.
Their hand lowers,
Tears fall to the ground.
Hearing mowers in the distance, feeling they don’t reach.
Hearing teachers in the distance, knowing they don’t teach.
Hearing preachers in the distance, knowing they don’t preach.
The person writes on the ground:
“The unbearable pain, shattered into pieces,
It hurts. Wanting peace, waiting for the release,
No one is coming; life’s not moving.
Stuck up in the past, it doesn’t last.”
The person curled up on the ground, in the mound of leaves, falling.
They will get buried under the weight of the world.
The mound of darkness is defeating, beating them up,
Till they can no more.
The gore, the blood,
They bleed out from the pain.
A river from their tears flows,
The wind blows the leaves away,
The crow caws at their body, now they’re nobody.
The sun no longer glows,
The grass no longer grows.
