Chapter 44: Jayce
He watched his love give and receive the respect of a Luna before his very eyes. His heart swelled up with pride as she talked to the women as if they have been life long friends. Since arriving at his home, she had grown so much. Much more than he had, but he wanted to believe he was still a work in progress and that took getting her trust back and forgiving him.
"There is one other point of discussion we need to cover while we're all here.” He announced, his voice silencing the group. Lily looked at him confused, her green eyes sparkling up at him.
"Is it about Lukas?" Luna Selene asked him, the sadness evident in her eyes. He knew that the Luna cared for her Alpha, but perhaps not as such the way love was for the rest of them. He leaned against his desk, his arms folded over his chest. He wanted to sleep. Fighting off Lukas, dealing with the uncanny body eruption and still settling in the idea that he was going to be a father really drained him.
A father.
"The Caribbean pack is left without an Alpha. Does Beta Felix intend to take the lead?" He asked Selene. She looked away for a moment, a look of uncertainty crossing her face.
"He isn't very sure he wants to lead. He enjoys being the Beta, but he doesn't believe in himself that he can run such a large pack.” She informed him. He couldn't necessarily blame the man. Being an Alpha is stressful work, and leading the largest pack is already tedious as it is, and that was coming from the King himself.
"I suppose we could hunt for the next candidate to take his place.” He stroked his chin as a very thin beard started to take shape. Damn, he needed to shave and shower.
"Are there any issues in the Caribbean we need to be concerned with?" Lily suddenly asked. Selene tapped her cheek thoughtfully as she pursed her lips.
"As for now, no. Thank God Hurricane season is over with. We managed to get things rebuilt before the New Year. Oh, I also went ahead and tied up a trading agreement with Brazil. That was almost a loss cause, but I managed to get it reeled in before the deadline.” Selene went on, being thorough with the work she managed to accomplish in such a short time frame.
"We don't need to look for an Alpha.” Lily said as she stepped up beside Selene, "We have one right here." She gestured to Selene. Selene's face turned the deepest shade of red he's ever seen on a person.
"Me? No, we can't do that.” She immediately protested
"Why the Hell not?" Lily asked.
"It's always been tradition that a male takes the lead as Alpha.” She explained to her. Lily only shrugged though.
"So? You literally just did everything your Alpha would have done.” Lily looked up at him, "She's perfect for the job." Jayce eyed Selene, her eyes downcast. Lily was right, but they also had traditions to abide by. He looked back at Lily who already placed her foot firmly down on this decision. She's a pure human getting married to the Werewolf King. Obviously fate didn't care for traditions like they did. So why should they?
"Are you up for it?" He asked her. Selene's eyes widened, staring up at him. She stammered for a moment, unsure on how to reply, but then she straightened her back and gave the firmest nod he's ever been given.
"It will be an honor, sir. Uh, King. Alpha!” She blushed as she fumbled to address him. Lily let out a scream and hugged Selene. The Luna, soon to be Alpha, appeared slightly shaken, but she was smiling through it.
"I guess we're making changes this year.” Jackson chipped in, but he didn't look upset about Jayce's decision.
"Who knows, maybe it was fates way of saying us old men need to move forward with the times." Javon responded, giving an approving nod.
"Who cares? It just gives me an excuse to throw another party.” He said happily. The old fool. Luna Isis and Luna Ella looked a little off though.
"Is there an issue?" He asked aloud, taking the women by surprise.
"Well, my King," Luna Ella began, but she wasn't feeling ready to continue.
"What does that mean for us?" Luna Isis asked him. He wasn't sure what she meant though.
"Oh, I see." Lily said as she separated from Selene, "You want equal power.” She said. The ladies looked at each other before nodding. Jayce let out a huff, rubbing the bridge of his nose as a headache settled in.
"Well," Lily started, stepping up beside Jayce, "What if you two are my advisors?" She asked the Lunas. The women looked at one another wondering where Lily was going with this. In fact, they all were. "Look, it's not rocket science to say that equality amongst the sexes isn't still rocky even after all the changes that have been made.” Lily took the floor as she addressed the group. He watched her, admired her as she spoke. She didn't know it yet, but he did. She had power to sway his people. "Men have always ruled with an iron fist for years. Not saying you guys are doing a bad job at it, but the women can be just as powerful and strong and righteous as any man that ever lived. Queen Elizabeth I, Catherine the Great, Sojourner Truth, Rosa Parks, Malala Yousafzai... Past, present and future. Women have changed the course of history more times than anyone can count, and for the better.” Lily let out a breath, "A man is considered strong with a capable woman at his side, but a woman is strong regardless of having a man." Lily looked at the women as the room fell quiet around them.
"I don't know what all to expect of my role as Luna. In fact, I'm kinda scared.” She let out a breath, "But with you two as my guidance, I hoped to be the Luna you all need me to be.” She looked to the Lunas. Luna Ella ran a hand over her hair.
"Wow, if you put it like that." Luna Ella said with a smile.
"It's a little hard to reject such an offer.” Luna Isis followed after, also smiling.
"So?" Lily looked between them. They shared a look before nodding. Lily covered her mouth as she let out another squeal. He hasn't seen her this excited in sometime. It was refreshing.
"Now then, should we go over the wedding details now that we're all here?" Luna Isis addressed them as she took a seat beside Javon.
"Actually, would it be alright if we reconvene this evening?" Lily asked them, "Jayce hasn't slept yet after everything that has happened.” She reached over and grabbed his hand.
"Absolutely, we can make dinner plans.” Jackson said as he got up from the couch, taking out something from his pocket and handed it to Lily. It appeared to be a business card, "Contact us when you're ready to meet up. Get some rest, my King." He inclined his neck before seeing himself and Luna Ella out. Alpha Javon stepped up next, also giving Lily a business card and leaving with Luna Isis.
“Luna Lily." Luna Selene addressed her.
"Please, just Lily." Lily corrected her. Selene nodded.
"Lily, thank you.” She said to her, handing her a business card and left. Archibald yawned and stretched as he stepped up to them.
"We'll discuss music at dinner.” He said, handing over one last card before finally leaving them be. Jayce let out a heavy and exhausted sigh as he slouched against his desk. Any kind of proper demeanor was out the door with them. He wanted to curl up right there and let sleep take him. "Come here." Lily spoke to him softly, taking his hand and led him over to the couch.
"I want to go to bed, Lily." He complained as she sat down, tugging him down with her.
"You are. Here." She patted her lap. He eyed her with suspicion, but she only looked back at him with an innocent expression. He caved and laid down, his head resting on her lap. She took her fingers and combed them through his hair slowly. His body relaxed instantly and his eyes fell shut. "Sweet dreams.” She whispered to him as sleep consumed him at last.
His eyes opened to see Nox laying down in his dark domain, the soft green glow snug against his side. The Wolf peered over at him with one open eye before shutting it.
You don't normally come here on your own.
Jayce walked over to the Wolf and sat down with the green orb. It pulsed softly with life. Life that he and Lily had given it. He reached out to it, feeling the Wolf within it stir in response.
"How is it possible?" He asked Nox, but the Wolf only shrugged. He was far more laxed than ever.
It will be far more powerful than I
Jayce looked at Nox when he said that. What did he mean by that? His Wolf was the strongest of all. Would his own pup surpass him?
"How did you come to be?" Jayce asked his Wolf. Nox opened both of his eyes, peering at Jayce with curiosity.
You know just as well as I. I was born to a child in Rome.
"That's not what I mean. We all know the tales, but you had to come from somewhere else, right?” Jayce asked his Wolf. Nox stared at Jayce for a long moment before looking down at the pup's glow. He could see Nox thinking deeply about his question. There was no where written of where Werewolves came from. Sure, they were discovered, but why? Who gave them their gift to shift into powerful creatures?
I remember a voice.
Nox said, his eyes distant as he recalled the memory.
It was soft and filled with a mother's tenderness. She reminds me of someone...
Nox shook his head and laid his head back down by the orb. Jayce leaned against Nox's side, looking out into the darkness. Nox knew something, yet his memory seemed blocked. Was it to protect the Wolf or the human it occupied?
He woke up later into the early evening, the light dimmed low. He sat up slowly, touching his head, the headache still there. He glanced around, but Lily wasn't with him anymore. He peered down at the blanket that had been covering him, her scent still lingered on it. He inhaled it, sighing and followed the scent from his office.
His nose lead him to their bedroom where the door was open just enough to glimpse inside. She wasn't in bed, but he could hear water splashing from their bathroom. He stalked in, shutting the door quietly behind himself. He made his way to the open bathroom, steam coming from it. It soaked his shirt, sticking to his body. He pulled off his shirt as he stepped up to the door. He glanced around as he saw several lit scented candles, bubbles as high as the ridge of the tub and Lily leaning back with her eyes closed. He leaned in the doorway, his eyes moving to the bathwater where her body was hidden.
"Mind if I join you?" He asked finally. Her eyes shot open, but she didn't appear startled.
"I thought you were sleeping?” She asked him as he took off his sweats and boxers. She shifted forward as he got in behind her. Thank God he got himself a large enough tub to fit both of them. She leaned back against his chest, her hands playing with the bubbles as his hands rested on the edge of the tub.
"I was. Is that lavender?" He asked her as he eyed the candle on the toilet seat.
"Lavender helps me relax." She said as she shut her eyes.
"How are you feeling?" He asked her as his hands went below the water and rested on her belly. He watched her smile.
"I'm fine.” She said, but he squeezed his arms around her a bit.
"Lily. A lot has happened. Are you really okay?" He asked her. She opened her eyes, looking up at him.
"No, I'm not okay.” She wiped her face, sinking slightly lower into the tub. "I never expected to live this kind of lifestyle, ever.”
"I know you had to adapt so suddenly, but you're doing so well.” He hoped to sound reassuring. "Jayce, I had an abusive ex-boyfriend that was a Vampire the whole time. I'm about to marry a King who is a Werewolf and help lead a race that isn't my own.” She sat up again. "I'm going to be a mom. I mean yeah, I always wanted kids. I adore the little monsters, but a year ago I was sitting in my tiny ass apartment in New York. I was single. I was working on book two. I didn't have the chaos that I do now." She groaned. Jayce moved his hands above the water and started to rub her shoulders. Her tensed up muscles quickly relaxed beneath his touch.
"Do you regret it?" He asked her as he pushed her hair aside and delivered soft kisses on the back of her neck. She let out a soft moan.
"No... It just feels like a dream. I get scared sometimes.” She let out a gasp as his hands moved below the water again. They ran over her curved waist and hips. He ran his tongue over her spine, making her shudder.
"Why are you scared?" He asked her, moving his lips to her ear. He let his fangs grow slightly, catching her ear with them.
"I'm scared to wake up and realize that this was never real.” He heard the sniffles, making him stop his seduction. He lifted her chin up to look at her. She hadn't cried yet, but her eyes already took on that tint of red. He got up carefully, exiting the tub and extended his hands out to her. She took them, slowly getting up. The bruise on her leg had finally started to go down as he helped her out the tub and picked her up so her legs were around his hips. He took her back to their room and gently laid her down on the bed. He stared down at the flushed woman, her body dripping with water and bubbles. He settled his hips between her legs, kneeling there as he scooted her ass closer to him. She complied, making the adjustment to be comfortable.
"I don't want to wake up either then.” He told her. He watched a single tear escape as he slowly entered her sex. Her face dissolved into blissful pleasure as he leaned over her. He swayed his hips like waves against her, keeping it slow as he penetrated her deeply. She moaned, her hands on his chest.
"I love you so much, Jayce."” She said to him. He moved one hand and settled it on her chest, over her heart. It was steady beneath his palm. She placed a hand over his, holding his gaze as she continued to moan. He loved watching her face as it melted with the ecstasy. The way her eyelids fluttered when he hits the right spot. How she bites her lip to fight off a moan and fails. The sounds that left her lips that praised him for his work.
"And I love you, Lily." He moaned, feeling himself thicken up inside of her. He knew his Wolf enjoyed being involved with her in every way. He watched her eyes widen slightly as he pushed up more against her walls, forcing her to expand a bit, but that also meant she got even tighter around him. Her eyes rolled back, her back arching and her toes digging and curling against the bed. He couldn't compare himself to another man, another Alpha even, but he liked to believe he was well endowed below the belt and it showed in her face.
"Jayce." She moaned his name slightly loud. God he loved hearing her say his name. Speaking it, moaning it, damn even screaming it gave him such pleasure. With each thrust she moaned, panted, gasped. He kept the slow thrusts going, letting his body build up the pressure. He didn't want to escalate things. Not yet.
"Lily." He moaned her name into her ear, watching goosebumps rise on her skin. He sat up a bit, his hands moving to her hips. He never realized it before, but maybe it was because he never cared. She had gained some weight on her waist and hips. Even her thighs felt a bit thicker. Was it due to the baby weight already? He gripped her hips, then her thighs. Fuck she looked so good beneath him. "Jayce, I want to be on top.” She told him, looking shyly up at him. He stopped thrusting, peering down at her as his cock throbbed inside of her. She rarely asked to be on top, always worried about not being good at it.
He pulled out agonizingly slow, watching her body beg for him to stay inside. His cock rested over her sex, glistening with her juices. He moved off to the side, his feet planted on the ground off the bed as she rolled on top of him. Before she even straddled him, she moved down between his legs, kneeling before his cock and licked up her juices.
Damn this woman.
He watched her as she lapped up her juices like it was syrup before taking the tip into her mouth. Since he grew in length and width, she had to adjust her mouth slightly, but she worked the tip slow, her eyes meeting his.
"Lily." He grunted, his hands gripping the blanket. She stopped abruptly and climbed back onto the bed and straddled him. She looked unsure at first, but then she settled down onto him, letting every thick inch of him sink into her core.
"Jayce." She gasped out, her hands on his chest. Her hips rose and fell on him. His eyes fell shut, his hands on her thighs. She slid up and down his shaft, but she was hesitant. Her hands slid up his chest until they were on the bed beside his head. His eyes opened and she was looking at him. She then swayed her hips in a circle, taking him by surprise. He let out a moan, his hands reaching up her thighs and rested on her smooth ass. She continued to rock her hips as his cock angled slightly. He let out an involuntary growl.
"Just like that." He moaned, gripping her ass slightly. He felt her lay down slightly and with her hips, she started to bounce her sex off the base. Their moans synced up as she increased her speed slightly.
"Jayce.” She moaned, sitting back up. He opened his eyes, looking up at her. He sat up, moving his arms around her waist. She started to ride him again, her hips swaying in a dance on his cock. The pressure was rising, nearing the edge.
"Lily, I'm going to cum.” He grunted, his head on her chest. She wrapped her arms around his neck, fucking him a bit harder. As she hit the base, he thrusted up into her, releasing himself into her deepest core. She let out a moan as she came.
"Jayce." She moaned into his ear, making him shudder. His cock stiffened again inside of her, and she started up again
"Lily, we have dinner plans.” He told her, and she looked at him with sad eyes.
"I guess it's too late to cancel?" She asked him. He pushed her hair from her face and kissed her. He would want nothing more than to stay in this room with her, drowning in the lust and love for one another.
"We'll just have to save this for dessert.” He nibbled her bottom lip. She let out a giggle before kissing him passionately. He held her against him, drowning in the kiss.
