Fated to the Werewolf King

Chapter 16: Jayce

Once Damion and Erica left the room, Jayce rose from his seat, circling his desk until he towered over Lily. She stared up at him with a defiant look on her face, but he knew better, and so did she. He grabbed her tank top, pulling her to him and kissed her hard. She leaned into him as he lead her to the couch. He tossed her down onto the sofa with a soft thud, a growl rumbling in his chest that ripped a loud moan from her lips.

"You're troublesome, you know that?" His hands unbuttoned his shirt as she pulled off her tank top. She no longer felt self-conscious about her body with him. He tossed his shirt aside, his mouth descending upon her breasts the moment they were free. She let out another beautiful moan, her nails digging into his shoulders.

"I just... wanted to... help..." She tilted her head back as he bit down on her nipple. Jayce pulled off his belt, pulling down his pants enough until his cock sprung out. He hurried to get her shorts and panties off. He inhaled deeply of her scent, licking his lips that made her shiver.

"You're putting yourself at risk." He growled at her, leaning down and flicked his tongue against her clit. She gasped, grabbing at his hair. He gripped her thighs as he ran his tongue over her dripping sex, flicking and sucking everywhere he could touch. She bucked her hips, her moans getting louder and louder. Her legs crossed over his back as he fucked her with his tongue, squeezing his head a bit.

"I don't... want to... stand... by... fuck!" She yelled, her juices soaked his lips and chin. His tongue continued to penetrate her until her body was shaking.

"If something were to happen to you..." he growled, his claws digging into the couch as he pulled away. She gazed up at him, pushing herself up and straddles him. She rested her hands on his chest. "Nothing will.” She said sternly. He knew his Wolf was forcing his way through, but he seemed calmer since the other day. "You always worry about me."

"That's because I don't want that sick fuck or any other man to hurt you ever again.” He shouted. She cupped his cheeks, waiting patiently. He felt his fangs prod against his bottom lip. His claws gripped her ass tightly. "Lily, you're the most important person to exist in my life.” He admitted. He watched her face soften at his honesty, stroking his cheek lightly. It wasn't like him to say such affectionate things, but he couldn't help it with her.

She raised her hips until his tip pressed against her entrance. She slid down slowly, and he watched the pure pleasure on her face. Once her hips settled on his base, she waited there, her sex squeezing every inch of him. She rested her hands against his chest again. His Wolf growled softly. "You feel that, don't you?" She asked him. He was confused by what she meant. "Close your eyes." She said to him. He was reluctant at first, but caved and took in the darkness behind his eyelids. "Here." Her hands pressed against his chest slightly. He focused on his chest, the steady rhythm of his heartbeat. He felt her ride his shaft slowly, letting every inch slide in and out of her. His heart sped up slowly. He tuned in to the pleasure between his legs, but it spread from there. He felt pulses run along his thighs, his abs, his chest and along his biceps. His muscles flexed against it. She moaned in response. His Wolf growled low and deep as she continued to slide up and down his shaft. He wanted to feel more.

Jayce felt her hands take his and run them along her skin. He felt every scar that his fingers passed over. He kissed her neck where his mark was, then kissed the scars that lined her neck, her shoulders and her collarbone. Jayce could sense the pain she endured, making his Wolf growl angrily.

"Jayce." She moaned his name so softly. He moaned in return, his hands moving over her back. For a moment, he sensed her heart beat. It was matching pace with him. He ran his fingers up her spine and into her hair. It was like silk between his fingers.

"Lily." He groaned loudly. Her lips locked onto his neck, kissing and licking away. He shuddered, his arms flexing around her waist. Something in his heart blossomed, an unknown feeling he never experienced before. He wasn't alone. He could sense it in Lily too, and this wasn't the first time it happened either.

"Jayce." She panted, squeezing his cock tightly. He grunted, his hands moving to her neck and kissing her deeply. She returned it, matching the same heat he was giving her. She moaned loudly as she came, her juices streaming down his cock. He groaned, hugging her to his chest as he came shortly after.

They sat there for a moment, taking each other in while his juices mingled with her own. He felt her lean against his chest, her arms around his neck, and rested her head on his shoulder. Pride filled his chest as he held her closely. This woman was everything he needed and then some. She settled his beast when he wanted to ravage her, making them both understand that sex was more than just fucking your partner until they were numb.

He felt her stir on his lap as she sat back and gazed into his eyes. Jayce stared back, getting lost in the green. He could sense that she wanted to say something. Her pink cheeks gave that away. "Jayce... I think I'm..." she said when her stomach growled. Her face turned beet red, and she hid it in her hands. He let out a chuckle, rubbing the small of her back.

"Hungry. I get it. Come on." He said to her. She nodded, but she looked like she wanted to say something else. "What is it?" He asked her, but she shook her head, smiling at him.

"I was wondering what you would like?" She asked as she climbed off of him and got dressed. He watched her put her clothes on before fixing his pants.

"Something light. I have to get up early.” He said with a groan. Her smile faded.

"The festival. Right." She said sadly as she pulled her tank top on and fixed her hair. He threw his shirt over his shoulder. He grabbed her hand.

"Lily. Once it's done, we'll have more time together.” He told her. She gazed up at him.

"Promise?" She asked. He nodded. She put up her hand, her pinkie sticking out. "Pinky promise?" She asked again. He smiled, wrapping his pinky around hers.

"Pinky promise.”

It had been a few days since that promise was made. He spent every waking hour in the city or at the pack house setting things up. He was discussing the security breach with a small group of his soldiers, those that he trusted, including Damion. However.

"Damion." Jayce said sternly as the others filed out. Damion paused in the doorway, looking back at him. Jayce sat at the conference table. "Are you okay? You don't look like you're fully here.” He said. Damion ran a hand through his hair. He shut the door, leaving the two of them alone.

"I'm going insane, Jayce." He groaned, pacing in front of him. "I had that date with Erica a couple of days ago, right?"

"Right." Jayce said with disinterest.

"Everything actually went really well. We ended up skipping the reservations I made, and we just walked the city streets and... talked.” He stopped, facing him head on.

"Your point?" He said with a sigh.

"We got to know each other on a level I never thought could be reached. And then..." a big smile stretched on his lips, "She kissed me. Me!" He leaned against the wall. He'd never seen Damion so love-struck before.

"So you can't focus?" He asked him slowly, still trying to wrap his head around it. Damion looked at him.

"I mean... yeah, kinda. Wait..." he stepped closer to him, looking his face over slowly like he was trying to find some answer written there for him. "Don't you go crazy about Lily with this sort of thing?" He asked him. Jayce averted his gaze. His heart was still a bundle of confusion. He knew he felt strongly toward her, more than he had ever felt toward any woman before, but he didn't want to be blindsided by these feelings. He had a pack to lead. No, he had an entire race to lead.

"Lily understands where my priorities lie." He said finally, yet his Wolf whimpered softly at his words. Damion cocked his head, shrugging before heading for the door again.

"If you say so. Erica seems to think otherwise." He mentioned to him.

"What do you mean?" Jayce asked curiously. Damion flinched when he realized he let it slip and his shoulders slumped.

"She thinks you don't really know Lily like you think you do." He rubbed the back of his neck. "I defended you, of course, but she kind of has a point. What all do you know about Lily that isn't revolved around her past?” He asked him. Jayce fell into silence at his words. Damion left him with that.

It was late again as he was driving back home, Damion’s words still echoing in his mind. What else did he know about Lily? Majority of what he knew was about the abuse she endured. She was an emotional wreck, but she was also quite stubborn. Let alone the sex with her is absolutely amazing. Was that all he needed to know, though?

His eyes shifted to the bookstore as he drove past, seeing her poster on the window along with the announcement of her book signing. He turned into the parking lot, glad to see it was still open this late. The bell chimed above him as he entered. Books lined the walls, shelves going all the way to the back of the building with the labeling of genres. He noticed a table near the back that appeared to be a setup for Lily's book signing.

"Hello, how can I... oh!" A young woman stood behind a desk just off to his right. She had red hair that was tied back into a braid, her face spotted with freckles. She looked no older than eighteen. "Hello. I'm looking for a book." He said to her. She straightened up instantly, tapping away on her computer.

"Of course, Alpha. What book are you looking for this evening?" She asked, her body stiff as she spoke to him. Was his presence that intimidating?

"I'm actually looking for the book by Lily Thornstun.” He mentioned. Her eyes lit up instantly. "Really? I never knew..." her eyes glanced him, blushing a bit, "I'm sorry! It's just... You don't come off to be that kind of person." Her voice grew quiet toward the end as she shuffled off down the aisle. A round table was positioned near the center where Lily's book was staged in a beautiful presentation. "What type of person, exactly?" He asked her and she froze. She picked up the book in question. "Well... A nerd.” she said to him. A nerd? What was that supposed to mean? He thought he was quite intelligent.

"I'm afraid I don't follow." He said as she went back to the front desk.

"Lily's book is based on the role-playing game Dungeons and Dragons.” Her eyes sparkled again. "Just like so many others, she's given us a world to escape to. A heroine tasked to kill a dark sorcerer when, in reality..." the woman stopped, "I can't spoil it for you! You'll just have to read it." She said as she rang him up. Was this how everyone reacted to Lily's book?

When he got back with his bag in hand, he heard soft giggling from upstairs. He followed the sound to Erica's guest room, where he sensed Lily inside.

"I can't believe you kissed him. That's so not like you.” Lily was teasing Erica about her date with Damion.

"Girl, I know. Everything was just going so smoothly, and the mood was just right.” Erica groaned, "Was it like that with you and Jayce?" She asked her and Lily fell quiet.

"Well..." she said, "Our relationship is a bit more complex than that. It started out pretty rough at first, actually. He didn't want me to be here, but I couldn't just leave.” Lily's tone saddened him a bit. Was he truly that harsh with her?

"But things obviously got better between you two. I've seen how he looks at you." Erica said, munching on something.

"We have, but we have a long road ahead of us still. He's an Alpha. The King. He has so much on his shoulders right now, and adding my problems to it only burdens him more." She sniffled.

"Lily." Erica said to her.

"Erica... I think I'm falling for Jayce..." Lily admitted openly. Jayce heard his Wolf how! happily, "I almost said it to him a few days ago in his office... but I couldn't." She muffled into what he believed was a pillow.

"Maybe that's your mind telling you that you're not ready. You finally got away from an abusive relationship and thrown into another one shortly after. You should slow down. What all do you know about him?" Erica asked her. The same question Damion asked him.

"Not too much. He's a workaholic, but that just comes with the title. He likes my cooking...”

"A man would be crazy if he didn't." Erica said, making Lily giggle a bit. His heart fluttered at the sound.

"I don't know his favorite color. His favorite book. Favorite anything really... but,” she let out a breath, "I can feel it. In my heart. My feelings for him are real. I may not know much about him now, but I want to. No matter how long it takes." She said with determination.

"Well, if you're so sure.” Erica said after stuffing her face again.

Jayce continued on to his office, pulling her book from the bag. He ran his fingers over the cover, a woman warrior facing off against a golden dragon. The woman almost reminded him of Lily. "Alright, let's see what you're all about, then." He said as he opened the book.
