Chapter 13: Lily
When she called Erica back, it overwhelmed her with so much joy she couldn't contain herself. Hearing her best friend's voice was music to her ears, especially with everything going on now. "Lily! Thank God you're alright! Where have you been? Why haven't you contacted me?" She started going off on her like a parent going off on a rebellious teenager.
"Erica, slow down."
"Where are you?" She asked again.
"I'm in a Werewolf community in Washington.”
"Give me the address. I'm coming to get you." She said sternly.
"Erica, you can't... Let me talk to Jayce."
"Who the fuck is Jayce?" She demanded.
"Will you calm down, please? If I can get you here, I want to explain everything in person.” She told her. She listened to Erica, let out a breath.
"Are you okay?" She asked, softer and more settled down now.
"Yes. I miss you." She said, feeling tears springing to her eyes.
"Girl, I miss you too. Hold strong for me, okay? Text me the address once you get the okay." She said. She was glad she understood so quickly.
"I will, I promise.” Lily said before she hung up. She wiped the tears away and hurried from the room. She needed to see Jayce immediately. As she stepped out of her room, voices sounded near the staircase. As she stalked closer to it, a woman's voice stopped her by the stairs. It was familiar, upset and unwelcome in the home.
"Why haven't you been answering my calls?" Chelsea asked him. Lily peered around the corner, finding Chelsea in a blue satin dress that stopped at mid-thigh and hugged her curves beautifully. How can a woman stand to walk in heels all the time?
"I'm not interested. There's nothing else to say.” He said coldly. She stepped closer to him, her hand on his chest.
Mine.
Lily grasped at her chest. What on Earth was that? This feeling. It stirred in her chest in an unhealthy, ugly way.
Jayce shifted slightly, turning, and met her gaze at the top of the stairs. He growled, pushing Chelsea's hand away forcefully. He stalked his way up the steps until he was in front of her. She stepped back, but he stepped forward. He wrapped an arm around her waist, pressing her against him. He dipped his face low to her ear, letting out a growl that vibrated throughout his chest. She let out a loud moan, leaning into him.
"Jayce!" Chelsea called from downstairs as he turned to face her while maintaining his hold over Lily. He pulled aside her collar and exposed his Mark to her. Chelsea's eyes widened. "That human is your Mate? Are you joking?" She yelled, her arms rippling like she was getting close to shifting. Jayce's hand caressed the Mark he left her with such tenderness it made her moan in response. She didn't want to be exposed like this, not in front of someone that despised her.
"My Mate, and your Queen." He snarled at her. An aura of power radiated off of him, his essence making Chelsea tremble before him. Was this the power of the Werewolf King? "Get out.” He growled down at her. She fumbled to regain her composure as she fled with her tail between her legs, slamming the door behind her.
"Jayce, you could've let her down a bit more gently.” Lily said, feeling his hand move from her neck down to her stomach, where he slipped his hand underneath her shirt. She gasped as his hand massaged her breasts and pinched her nipples. She grabbed at his arm, but he was relentless. His technique made her sex spasm, her juices coating her panties and jeans instantly.
"Let's go over what just happened.” He nibbled on her earlobe. She moaned out, struggling to free herself. Fuck, her body loved it. He was forceful, but in a way that drove her body crazy. She wasn't scared. Instead, she wanted more.
"What do you mean?" She asked as he pulled off her shirt and unclipped her bra. He licked and sucked on the bite Mark he gave her just a few hours ago. He moved over to the wall, pressing her chest up against it. The icy wall felt good against her overheating body.
"I heard you." He unzipped his pants, and she felt his cock press against her jeans. His hand moved down her stomach, the shocking sensation rocking her hips in a sensual dance.
"I said nothing.” She gasped as he unzipped her pants, pulling her jeans down until they were around her ankles. He slid his cock between her thighs so the shaft rubbed against her panties. He thrusted slowly, torturing her core.
"I'm yours?" He kissed just under her ear, sending another glorious spasm between her legs, her juices soaking through her panties and lathering his cock. He growled at the feeling, rocking his hips faster.
"Jayce." She moaned out, her hands scratching at the wall. His hands rested over hers, pinning her there as he continued to thrust. He bit her ear gently, making her moan again
"Lily." He grunted, his hands changing into claws. He was shifting like he did earlier. He lost control of his human self because his Wolf wanted her so badly. If the Wolf wanted her, he will have to be on her level too.
Lily pushed off the wall, shoving into his body until he was no longer between her legs. She spun around to face him as he regained his footing and pinned her wrists against the wall. A look of shock crossed Jayce's eyes as she stared at his partially shifted face. She slipped her hands free of his grasp and grabbed his face. He growled at the touch.
"If you want me, Wolf, then look at me when you do.” Her thumbs brushed against his cheeks. His fangs pressed against his bottom lip. His claws moved along her waist, then her hips, until they gripped behind her thighs and lifted her up. He held her against the wall as he wrapped her legs around his waist. She wrapped her arms around his neck as he entered her. She threw her head back as he filled her, inch by delicious inch. He pulled back to the entrance, holding still for a moment. She looked into his eyes again, seeing them waiver in uncertainty.
"This feeling... It's new to both of us.” She stroked his jawline lightly with her fingertips. The corner of his lips lifted slightly in a growl, exposing his fangs.
"Lily." His guttural voice came through, leaning into her touch. She brought his face close to rest her forehead against his
"Let's experience this together.” She said in a whisper. She leaned in, locking lips with his. Their tongues collided into a heated battle of passion as he thrusted into her again, falling into a steady rhythm. He took his time. Feeling every bit of her sex, the tightness, the juices that soaked him because of the pleasure she felt. Her fingers gripped his hair, pulling gently every so often. He moaned as she sucked on his tongue. His claws gripped her thighs hard, but he kept his even pace. "Lily. Fuck.” He moaned as she kissed his neck and licked his ear. She relished the satisfaction that he enjoyed this. Her hands unbuttoned his shirt, exposing as much of his body as she could, and she licked the tattoos that decorated across his collarbone. She trailed her lips up to his neck, planting kisses along the way.
"Jayce... oh Jayce!" She moaned for him, his Wolf growling in response to her pleasure. He increased his speed slightly, doing well in maintaining control. She nipped his neck and sucked. He groaned loudly, slowing his pace and focused more on the force rather than the speed. She moaned against his throat, continuing to suck on his neck.
"Lily... fuck, it's so good." He groaned as she released his neck, eyeing her masterpiece she left behind. She felt herself tighten around him, a growl emanating from deep within his chest.
"Jayce, I'm cumming." She warned him. She felt him thicken and throb inside of her as he was nearing his end as well.
"Lily!" He roared her name as he released inside of her. She screamed out, feeling her sex explode with the ecstasy streaming down her ass and thighs. He panted, clenching her as they tried to catch their breath. Her legs shook and felt like jelly in his hands. She thought she might not walk right away.
"Holy fuck...” he panted, his features returning to normal. He looked into her eyes, something new sparkling in his, "Lily..." he spoke her name with such emotion, her heart ached. She kissed him again, this time sharing the same emotion. It didn't need to be said right away, but they both knew it was developing.
"Jayce... That was wonderful." She exclaimed, making him chuckle. Oh, his laugh made her heart melt.
"I didn’t think you'd have it in you.” He admitted. He pulled out of her, a soft moan leaving her lips. "The sex?" She let out a small giggle as he set her on her feet. Her legs gave out instantly, and she collapsed, but his hands supported her.
"Challenging my Wolf. That was no small feat.” He said, swooping his arms beneath her and lifts her back up to cradle against him.
"I can walk.” She protested. He chuckled again, making her sink against his chest. He walked her down to his room and laid her down on his bed.
"Stay here until you can manage on your own." He told her as he brushed her hair from her face. This was a rare sight to see. It was like last night. Caring and compassionate.
"Jayce, wait." She grabbed his hand as he got up to leave. He looked back down at her. She blushed deeply. She wanted to stay with him longer. As if he could sense how she felt, he sat down beside her.
"I'll stay.” He said to her, stroking her cheek affectionately. She leaned into his touch. Her heart was a mess. She was developing feelings for Jayce rapidly that frightened her a bit. She was supposed to stay away from being in a relationship. Everything could backfire and end up like the situation with Jasper all over again. She always fell too fast. That was her downfall, but her heart knew better. It knew Jayce wouldn't be like Jasper or any other man. He was special to her, and she wanted it all to herself.
She sat up, holding his hand against her cheek, and shut her eyes. His hand stopped stroking her cheek, lowering to her chin.
"You drive me mad, Lily." He said to her. Her eyes fluttered open, and she could see the turmoil of emotions spiraling in his eyes. This must be all so new to him to. Were any of his past lovers ever affectionate toward him? Expressed their feelings to him? It could explain his rough around the edges demeanor and dominating presence.
"In a good way, I hope?" She said, and he chuckled again. Her heart squeezed at his laugh.
"Yes. I have some things to take care of. When your body wants to behave properly again, join me for lunch.” He told her. She nodded, saddened that he had to leave, even if it was just down the hall. "Okay." she replied simply. He stayed just a little longer for her before getting off the bed and left her alone. His warm presence gone from her side. She mentally rushed her body to get its shit together so she can see him again.
After what felt like ages, she got out of his bed, her legs still questionable, but she could hold herself together again. Lily glanced out into the hall, seeing it empty aside from her clothes still scattered on the floor. She walked down the corridor, feeling a little free as she strode to pick up her clothes. She noticed her phone on the floor, thankfully not broken, but the small green light was flashing. As she grouped her clothes together, she turned it on and saw a message from Erica. A video clip. A still frame of Jasper's face. Lily hesitated before starting the video. She watched in horror as he addressed the viewers of her missing appearance, his feign for concern for her safety. She stared at the screen, dread and fear crawling their way back into her mind. He was looking for her, even now. Would he come there? Would he find her and finish the job?
"Lily?" A soft voice slipped past her thoughts and she glanced up to see Penelope kneeling beside her.
When did she get here?
Her eyes went to the screen, narrowing on the man that was speaking. Her arm wrapped around Lily's shoulders and pulled her against her gently, her fingers combing her hair in a soothing way. "What if he comes here, Penelope? I don't want him hurting anyone.” Lily said to her. Penelope squeezed her shoulder.
"He can try. Jayce won't let him." She said confidently. Lily could only nod. She needed to trust that things will be okay. Jayce would protect her at all costs. "Care to explain this, though?" She gestured with a nod to her nakedness. Lily felt her whole body flush as she scrambled for her clothes.
"I... You see... Well..." where can she possibly start? Penelope's laugh stopped her stammering. "Child, it's alright.” Her fingers touched the Mark on her neck, "I knew already. Come on, let's get you dressed and something to eat.”
"Yes, I have the last of the proposals in front of me, but I want to do something different from the fireworks.” Jayce paced the kitchen while on his phone. He had papers scattered across the island countertop, different proposals for the festival. Lily peeked at them when they finished lunch, each one leading on about the fireworks. Just how to go about it was different.
"Can I suggest something?" Lily spoke up. Penelope glanced up from her phone to see Jayce consider it for a moment. He hung up the call, taking the proposals and threw them in the trash. "Please don't be about the damn fireworks.” He pleaded as he took a seat on the stool. She shook her head.
"It's not, but it's still a light show.” She put her hand up as he groaned, "Wait, let me finish first." She said to him. He rested his chin on his palm, his eyes on her. "What if we did something with lanterns?" She asked him. His brows knitted together, "There are some cultures like China that use lanterns as a symbol of celebration and good fortune. It's a suitable substitute for the fireworks, and it also gives your people the chance to be involved with the activity. They can decorate their own lanterns. It can be a ton of fun for all ages.” She said to them. Silence fell over the room like a heavy fog. She watched in anticipation as Jayce thought it over, stroking his chin.
"I'll have to get in contact with some vendors for supplies. We can use the football field at the school for the gathering.” He was adding more details. She leaned closer.
"So, you'll go with the idea?" She asked eagerly. He glanced over at her, smiling lightly.
"We'll do it." He told her, and the anxiety from waiting bursted all at once and she jumped with excitement.
"Yes! I can't wait!" She yelled. She met his gaze, stopping her celebration, and adjusted her shirt. "I mean, great. That's awesome.” She simmered her excitement, but he still smiled at her.
"Well, that's settled then.” Penelope said, shifting her gaze to Jayce, "I suggest double if not triple the security though.” She mentioned. She grabbed Lily's phone before she could stop her and showed him the video of Jasper. Lily had forgotten all about it. She watched Jayce's face twist with rage as he listened to her ex.
"Triple the security, and you'll have an escort at all times.” He said to her. She frowned, but could she really be mad? He wanted to protect her, even if it meant taking it to the extreme.
"Lily, it's not just because you're his Mate that he wants to protect you. You're our Luna. It is our job to ensure that you are safe from harm, no matter the size of that danger.” Penelope told her. Lily nodded, looking down at the counter.
"Actually, I was hoping Erica could come see me. She doesn't know what happened, and she thought I went missing too." She looked at Jayce, but he was shaking his head.
"No outsiders, not until this bastard is gone." He said with a growl to finalize his say. Lily opened her mouth to speak, but quickly shut it. She didn't want to argue with him, not after they started building this feeling together.
"Okay." she said, hopping off of her stool.
"Where are you going?" He asked her.
"My room. I have to work.” She replied a bit more coldly than she wanted, but she didn't care. She was hidden away from her best friend yet again.
"Lily." Penelope called to her when she was halfway up the stairs, "Argue your point with him. I know you miss your friends and family." She tried to persuade her.
"What's the point?" She asked her, "He's right. While Jasper is out there, possibly trying to find me, it would be safer if no one else got involved with me.” Though it hurt to admit it. She turned her face away when she felt tears fast approaching. She finished her walk to her room and slammed the door behind her. As the thunder rolled outside, she settled in at her desk. She just needed to focus on her work. How could she when the scent of their lust from earlier still lingered around her? She examined her bed, untouched since their carnal desire. She let out a sigh, rubbing her temples. Focus.
How long did time pass? The skies have yet to change outside. She stared at her screen, no luck in her creative mind, when a knock came to her door. She smelled the fresh rain coming from behind the door.
"Come in.” She called over, leaning back in her seat. Jayce walked in, looking over to her.
"Sorry, I'll come back." He turned to go, but she called out to him.
"Wait, it's okay. I haven't been able to get anywhere, anyway." She looked at her blank computer screen sadly. "What is it?" She asked him. He sat on the edge of her bed across from her, the frame creaking from his weight.
"I've been thinking.” He said to her. She felt her heart and breath stop. "I know you have seen no friends or family in sometime. I forget you underwent serious trauma that I alone shouldn't be the one to help you."
"What are you saying?" She asked him, a little frightened to hear his answer.
"I'm saying that it would be better for your health if your friend came to see you." He checked his watch. "I can have her here the next morning. She can keep you company while I handle the festival set up.” He said to her. She stared at him, taken aback. He met her gaze. "Is that what you want?" He asked her.
"Yes... Yes!" She jumped out of her chair and tackled him onto the bed. He grunted, but his arms wrapped around her. "I'm so happy, thank you!" She sat over him, wiping the tears from her eyes. He helped brush her tears away to, a kind smile on his face.
"As long as it makes you happy.” He sat up and kissed her sweetly. She felt her heart swell in her chest. She was happy. Truly.
