Fated Mates

Chapter The Heat

The day unfolded with Liza engrossed in the intricate practice of magic, her dedication and efforts surpassing expectations. Simultaneously, she was nearing the completion of her warrior training with Sabastian, progressing at a remarkable pace. However, as the day progressed, a shadow of unease began to cast its presence over her.

In the morning, an inexplicable feeling of malaise clung to Liza. She couldn’t pinpoint the cause, but the discomfort lingered. Setting aside the unsettling sensation, she readied herself for the combat training session with Sabastian. The arena became the canvas for their synchronized movements, and Liza’s proficiency was becoming increasingly evident.

As the training session commenced, an unexpected wave of heat swept over Liza. Attempting to push through, she informed Sabastian that something felt different that day. Considering it might be exhaustion, they contemplated calling it a day, and Liza planned to retire early to ensure she wouldn’t fall sick.

However, the discomfort escalated abruptly. Heat surged through her body, accompanied by intense pain. Liza groaned, collapsing to the ground as the pain enveloped her in relentless waves.

Sabastian, quick to react, scooped her into his arms and dashed towards his floor in the pack house. The young warriors, engaged in their chatter, turned their heads at the sight of the Alpha and Liza. Sabastian’s authoritative command echoed, “Out of the packhouse, everyone! No one enters for the next 48 hours. Is that clear?”

“Yes, Alpha!” The warriors dispersed, leaving the pack house deserted.

Sabastian mindlinked his beta, instructing him to ensure no one approached the pack house and to redirect any concerns or needs to the pack center. He then informed the entire pack through the mindlink, letting them know that the beta would be the point of contact for the day.

In a private mindlink to his sister, Sabastian expressed his concern, stating that he believed Liza might be going into heat. He requested Seraphina to bring a female pack doctor to check on her.

Arriving at his room with Liza in his arms, Sabastian witnessed her writhing in pain and burning with fever. The urgency of the situation heightened, and Sabastian’s focus shifted to providing comfort and seeking the necessary medical attention for his mate.

In the dimly lit room, Liza’s groans of pain echoed as Sabastian, with a furrowed brow, tried to soothe her feverish agony. Sabastian’s mind raced with worry as he felt the intensity of Liza’s discomfort.

Shortly after, Seraphina entered the room, her eyes reflecting concern. “I’ve brought the pack doctor,” she informed Sabastian. The pack doctor, a seasoned healer well-versed in both werewolf and human medicine, hurriedly examined Liza. The diagnosis was clear – Liza was indeed going into her first heat cycle, a process that was unexpectedly intense.

As the pack doctor finished her examination, Morgana entered the room, her eyes immediately sensing the magical fluctuations around Liza. “This is more than just a regular heat cycle,” Morgana stated, her voice carrying an edge of concern.

Sabastian looked from the pack doctor to Morgana, his worry deepening. “What can we do to help her?” he asked, his alpha instincts kicking in.

The pack doctor spoke first, “The usual approach is to allow the natural course of the heat cycle, but given the intensity, it might be beneficial for her to complete the mating process. It can provide comfort and alleviate some of the symptoms.”

Morgana nodded in agreement, her eyes focused on Liza. “The bond formed during the mating process can also stabilize the magical energies within her, bringing a sense of balance. It might be the most effective way to help her through this.”

Seraphina, standing by her brother’s side, added, “Completing the mating process is a crucial step. It not only strengthens the bond between mates but can also offer both emotional and physical support.”

Sabastian absorbed their words, his protective instincts urging him to do whatever was necessary for Liza’s well-being. “What do we need to do?” he asked, determination etched on his face.

The pack doctor and Morgana exchanged a glance before the pack doctor explained, “It requires a mutual agreement between mates. Both parties need to be willing and consensual.”

Morgana added, “The process involves a physical and emotional connection, sealing the bond between mates. It’s a powerful and intimate ritual that transcends the physical realm.”

The gravity of the situation hung in the air as everyone in the room understood the significance of the decision that lay before Sabastian and Liza. The room fell into a contemplative silence as the weight of the choice to complete the mating process for the well-being of Liza and the stability of their bond became apparent.

In a small room adorned with family portraits and memories, Liza’s parents anxiously awaited news from the Mooncrest pack. They had received a message from Sabastian, the Alpha, informing them about Liza’s unexpected and intense heat cycle. Concern and worry etched lines on their faces as they awaited updates on their daughter’s well-being.

Liza’s mother, Catherine, gazed out the window, her mind clouded with thoughts of her beloved daughter. “I never thought her first heat cycle would be like this,” she murmured, her voice filled with a mix of anxiety and maternal concern.

Her husband, Richard, placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. “We knew she would go through this, but the intensity seems unusual. Sabastian will take care of her. He’s a responsible Alpha.”

Catherine nodded, but the worry lines on her forehead remained. “She’s still so young, Richard. I can’t help but be concerned about how this will affect her.”

As the moments passed, their thoughts lingered on the decision facing Sabastian and Liza. Catherine sighed, “I never imagined our little girl would be in such a situation at this age.”

Richard nodded in understanding, “But Sabastian will do what’s best for her. We raised Liza to be strong and resilient. She’ll get through this, and so will our family.”

Just then, the room’s enchanted communication stone lit up, indicating an incoming message. They quickly activated it, and Sabastian’s face appeared on the magical screen. His eyes conveyed a mix of exhaustion and concern.

“Alpha Sabastian, how is our daughter?” Catherine asked, her voice trembling with worry.

Sabastian took a deep breath before responding, “Liza is going through an intense heat cycle, more than we anticipated. The pack doctor and Morgana have suggested completing the mating process to ease her discomfort and stabilize her magical energies.”

Catherine and Richard exchanged a glance, realizing the weight of the situation. “What do you need from us?” Richard inquired, his tone a mix of concern and support.

Sabastian hesitated before answering, “We need your consent for Liza to complete the mating process. It’s a crucial decision, and we want to ensure we have your support.”

Catherine’s eyes welled up with tears, but she nodded resolutely. “Our priority is Liza’s well-being. If completing the mating process is what she needs, then we give our consent. Please take care of our daughter.”

Richard added, “We trust your judgment, Sabastian. Do whatever it takes to help Liza through this.”

Sabastian nodded, gratitude evident in his eyes. “Thank you for your trust. I’ll keep you updated on her condition.”

As the communication stone went dark, Catherine and Richard embraced, their hearts heavy with concern for their daughter. The decisions made in the supernatural world weighed heavily on their parental hearts, but they held onto the hope that Sabastian’s guidance and the strength instilled in Liza would see her through this challenging moment in her young life.
