Fated is overrated

Chapter 25

Lola POV

As we head out the boutique, I have to find a non-embarrassing way to bring up having to go lingerie shopping to Nadia. As if she can actually read my mind somehow she beams "now let's get ourselves some fitting lingerie for the occasion! I know you aren't the romantic type and you probably don't want to, but girl, you never know what is going to happen and whatever is - it can't be in those plain whites you always have going on". I roll my eyes and reply with a sass "nothing is going to happen. Not now, not ever most likely.

You know my view on that. But, I will go lingerie shopping with you and again, not because of what might happen - but for me. I want to feel sexy for once in my life" and I notice myself blushing at the last part.

She stops to a halt and pulls my hands in hers. "Lola you listen to me and you listen really well. I have told you this before, you are sexy.

You are also smart as hell, funny, and above all, you are a sweetheart even though you hate me saying that as you always want to be the tough one.

And I know for a fact that Jason agrees. Stop being so hard on yourself, I wish you could see yourself through my eyes". I smile back at her for her kind words, though I don't agree with many of them, and reply "thanks. You are too kind for this word".

With that being said and done, we head into the lingerie shop. This is my first time being in an actual lingerie shop where they sell ... sexy lingerie. Nothing like the plain whites I always wear. Everything here is covered in lace, straps and bands and has all kinds of different colors and sizes.

Sensing my hesitation Nadia starts pulling some black, white, and red-laced matching sets off the racks, some of them just a bra and panties, others a full body. After having tried everything on, I settle on a few matching sets, of which 2 a full body which I feel really sexy in.

After having paid myself this time for my items, we head out of the shop and start heading back towards the car when we suddenly hear the most annoying voices on the planet, ready to ruin our perfect day.

"Well, well well, look what the cat dragged in here. What could you possibly be out shopping for? Corrective underwear to hide your fat *ss and some glasses to make you see that no matter what you buy you will still be an ugly b*tch?". Melissa, not today please, yugh.

Although they have not harassing me physically since last week, they are still happily belittling me every chance they get. But I couldn't care less, as long as I don't get bruised on my birthday.

Some of her cheerleading squad are here as well and so are Chris and his posse. I smile back and reply "I got some new glasses indeed, thanks, see ya!" and try to walk past before I feel an arm yank me back. "Let me have a look then, don't be such a rude little orphan!"

Before I can reply or pull the bags away, she got a hold of my lingerie bag. Just f*cking perfect." Well what do we have here? Lingerie?" "as if anybody would ever touch that filthy mutt" I hear Ashton piping up from behind Melissa. I can feel my blood starting to boil again, even though I was adamant about not letting them ruin my perfect day.

Looking at Ashton, I get even more angry because of the stupid smirk on his face. From the corner of my eye I can see Chris standing absolutely still and for a moment I thought I saw his eyes flicker black.

Even his wolf relishes in my misery. Melissa takes out one of the sets I had, a white one, and flashes them for everyone to see." Look at this whale size, wow! Many paragraphs are missing. Read the complete book on J o bn ib.com. This could fit a f*cking bear!" everyone laughs and Ashton chimes in "virgin white, just as she will remain for the rest of her life".

Just as my anger is about to reach its boiling point the mall guard walks up to us and booms with a deep voice "return the bag to the young lady, don't make me ask you again".

As this man is human, even Melissa could take him. However, werewolves are prohibited by law from causing any problems for humans, nor are humans allowed to know of our existence so we have to keep a low profile. Anyone breaking these laws will answer to the Alpha King, and nobody dares to go there.

Melissa throws the bags upside down back at me, spilling all my items all over the floor, before they all walk away laughing loudly. "Thank you sir, I appreciate it"

I speak softly to the kind man. "No problem young lady, I can't stand bullies. I have to finish my patrol now. Please take care of yourselves and stay out of trouble". Nadia and I reply a small "thanks" before the man heads out and we finish gathering my stuff from the ground.
