Chapter 518
518 How Time Flies
Anna knew it was pointless to say anything since the venue had been torn down. However, she was relieved when she realized Isabella was in a good mood and wasn't as annoying as Jasper described.
Then she said to Peace, "You should stop causing trouble, Peace. Jasper has always been generous to Isabella. He rents out hotels in the area for her, and he might have rented the entire island if I hadn't stopped him."
"It's because Isabella is deserving," Peace said as she looked around.
With a smile, Isabella explained, "He didn't actually rent the entire island. We only decided to book the venue last month, and half of it has already been taken. You can hang around our hotel. It's safe here, and you can see the hotel staff everywhere. But take a look over there."
Then Anna cast a glance in the direction Isabella pointed. And she saw a police line drawn along the shore a short distance from the stage.
"Someone else owns that side. I'll have to warn the kids not to go there later. That place doesn't belong to us, and I think it's not very safe there."
Anna looked away in doubt and asked, "Why is it not safe there?"
"I arrived here two weeks ago. I had no idea about this back then, so I accidentally broke into that place. And I noticed that everyone inside the garden over there is armed." "What kind of people are they?" Peace asked nervously as she removed her sunglasses. 517 How Time Flies
Isabella said, shaking her head, "I don't know. Jasper had his assistants investigate it, but they found nothing. He even wanted to change the venue because he was worried. I thought this place was ideal, so I asked him to stay here"
"Don't worry. After all, we're not in England now. It's common for people to keep firearms on private property in foreign countries. I'll talk to the kids later and tell them to avoid that area." "Right," Isabella said, nodding.
Peace sat back down, put her sunglasses over her eyes, and grumbled, "Please don't tell Martin. He's been getting on my nerves recently, and I want to teach him a lesson. It appears that I won't even have to do it myself."
"Isn't that Gary?" Anna asked, pointing to the young boy in the distance who was piling sand on the beach. He appeared slimmer and taller than he had been a few years ago.
"Gary, come here!" Isabella nodded and waved to the little boy in the distance.
The little boy immediately dropped his shovel and ran toward them. The sun had made his face flush. He walked beneath the awning, looking at Anna and Peace.
"Gary, do you still remember me?" Anna softly asked.
"Yes. Hello, Aunt Anna and Aunt Peace," Gary said with a shy smile.
Since she and Gary left for America, Isabella didn't come back for many years. Anna looked at Gary carefully and noticed his features were similar to Ada's. On the other hand, his hair was as red as a blazing fire. He appeared slightly different than when he was younger.
"Gary, you'll be going back to Birmingham with them later. You'll do 517 How Time Flies great, right?" Isabella asked.
Gary nodded, "Yes, III be a good boy. I haven't seen Tammy in a long time, and I really miss her."
"I've prepared gifts for everyone. But because they were too heavy, I asked Dad to have them sent to Birmingham for you. I'll give you the gifts When I get to Birmingham." he said. "Isabella, you are so lucky! You found yourself such a nice..."
Anna coughed, interrupting Peace's words. And she thought, What are you doing, Peace? We agreed not to talk about anything that will make Gary think of his biological parents!
Meanwhile, Peace became panicked when she realized she had almost said the wrong thing. Isabella, however, didn't seem to mind this. She patted Gary's shoulder and said, "Tammy's over there. Go ahead and play with her, dear."
"Bye!" Gary turned and ran towards the beach after saying this.
After he left, Peace apologized to Isabella, "Isabella, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean it. I will never, ever say such things again."
Isabella said with a nod, "It's fine. In fact, Gary remembers everything that happened before. He never mentioned his mother to us, and I thought
he'd forgotten about her. But Jasper overheard him talking, saying her name when he had a nightmare."
Peace exclaimed angrily, "Why did Ada torture her own son? She was such a terrible mother!"
"Forget about it, Peace. She's already gone."
"She was a total sociopath! Why would she take Gary away at that time? Isabella took excellent care of him Anna sighed and said, "Well, let's drop the topic. I spoke with Wayne's 517 How Time Flies mother about it, and she agreed to look after Gary. She'll let him live in the Wrights' home. He'll spend more time with the kids and make friends with them. It's great that he gets along with Tammy, or I'd be worried he'd be lonely."
"Right. Relax, Isabella. The kids are all friendly and helpful, so Gary won't be lonely. He'll no longer dwell on the traumatic things of the past." With a smile, Peace said.
Isabella couldn't help but laugh when she heard this. "Yes, Martin and Tammy are two typical examples," she said.
"That little brat," said Peace, as she was enraged when she thought about her son.
Matthew arrived at the island late at night. By that point, the crowd had already set up a barbecue in the backyard of a house. On the beach, a gentle sea breeze was blowing, and children were laughing and playing.
Matthew was the oldest of all kids. He was mature and composed, which made him stand out from the other kids. He appeared to be an adult rather than a child
"Matthew!" Tammy lunged at Matthew as soon as she saw him, her greasy hands rubbing against his shirt. And Matthew almost fell over. As he managed to catch Tammy, he burst out laughing.
"What took you so long to get here? I've been waiting for you for a whole day!" Tammy said excitedly.
Hearing Tammy's voice, Anna emerged from behind Matthew, yanked Tammy, and said, "Tammy, give your brother a break, okay? He's worn out."
"No!" Tammy clung to Matthew like a wombat on a tree, her arms 517 How Time Flies around his neck.
"It's okay, Mom," Matthew said.
"I just roasted some lamb for you. "Tammy let go of Matthew, taking his hand in hers and walking to the grill. She yelled as she saw Martin taking the lamb from the grill, "What are you doing, Martin?! That's for my brother! Put it down!"
The next second, Martin's hand shook with fear, and the lamb skewer fell to the ground.
Seeing that, Tammy shouted angrily, "Martin! You'd better roast some more lamb for my brother right now!"
After that, Martin ran ahead, Tammy chased after him, and the other children cheered. Looking at these adorable children, Anna felt joyful. She thought to herself, 7ammy, you haven't been this energetic since you became a teenager because you like to act maturely in front of the other kids. But because Matthew is present, you became much more at ease. Did you do it because you want to make Matthew happy?
