Chapter CHAPTER 39
ALPHA ROBIN'S POV
I felt weak in the knees. I felt guilty for thinking about breaking up with her. My palms could not stop shaking and sweating. I have always been quick to respond to things but not in this case. I could feel it, I lost her and it tore me apart. Tears blinded my vision. Mark you, I don't know the last time that I cried.
I had to confirm what was in front of my eyes and that terrified me even more. I was thinking of breaking up with her, not her life ending. This cannot be the end to the beginning of our sweet sorry.
I forced myself to take two deep breaths before I ran to her and held her tightly. I didn't care that she was bleeding. I crossed my fingers and hoped that she still had some life in her and I can actually save her. The last time I was able to save her but this time round it actually feels like I could be late.
At this point in time I was not thinking about who might have done this to her. All that I was thinking about and caring about was for her to actually be okay. I cannot afford to lose her.
I was scared to even touch her but I embraced her tightly, closed my eyes and waited patiently to feel her heart palpitating.
There was nothing. She was lifeless.
I couldn't take it anymore. I growled loudly as I looked up to the sky. I needed a miracle.
I couldn't control my tears which had started falling down from my eyes like water from a faulty tap. I didn't care that someone would find me crying and perceive it as a sign of weakness. I was in so much pain and I needed to let it out.
Amidst the confusion and helplessness is when I recalled the kiss of life. I leaned in and kissed her as I pressed her chest gently hoping that she was going to start breathing again but that did not happen. After rounds of repeating the procedure and hoping for a miracle, she didn't respond to me.
I had lost her and it was high time that I accepted the loss.
I felt guilty for thinking about breaking up with her. It was hard to believe that she had actually passed away. This was not supposed to happen. I should have gone with her to my quarters. I would not have left her on her own. I wanted to die, let me not lie. I knew that I was strong until this point. We had met briefly but she touched me in a way no one had ever done before.
For the sake of the pack however, I had to be strong, bury her and move on with life. I will go through her things, find out who wanted her dead and avenge her death. Not only that, I would avenge her sister's death because that is what she wanted. She had given me another reason to live.
As for love, I doubt I would ever fall in love again, not after that had happened.

I decided to cry and let it out before I took her to the edge of the quarters to bury her when I heard her say faintly, " My love."
I couldn't believe it. I had heard correctly, it was not all in my head. From the blues, she was having feeble pulses meaning that she had another shot at life. I didn't take any chances after this.
I had to ensure that she gets better as soon as possible. She was still unconscious, I tried talking to her again but she was not responding. Therefore, I carried her and ran with her to my quarters. I couldn't take her to the sick bay, they would treat her in my quarters as I monitor her.
Someone out there wants her death and I was not going to give them that satisfaction.
I had to take care of her because she means the world to me.
I was panting by the time I got to my quarters. I placed her on my bed before barking orders to the Beta to call in the nurse as he located the best healer in the region.
The Beta was concerned about how much I was investing on her but I did not care. I had already decided that she was mine and no one was actually going to tell me otherwise.
"Once you are done getting the healer, you will get to the bottom of this. I need to know who hurt her!" I ordered before discussing him.

The nurse came in and started attending to her on my watch. She was a fighter. She still held on amidst the pain, fighting to be alive so that she could be with me.
I couldn't stop thinking about how she acknowledged me as his lover. Despite the pain and what she was going through, she referred to me as her lover. She is genuine with me and I would be damned if I give up on someone like her. I know it won't be easy loving on her but I was going to do everything in my power to ensure that our relationship works.
"It will take her a longer time for her to recover. She has lost so much blood," The nurse revealed.
"You can wait outside. I will call you if I need you," I told her before going to be by her side
Her eyes were closed, she was still breathing feebly. The nurse had changed her bloody outfit to a white linen cloth. She looked beautiful and peaceful. She didn't deserve the pain and what she went through.
I needed her to wake up and tell me who did this for me to avenge on her behalf. I was not going to let this matter slide.
The nurse had mentioned it would take some time for her to heal but not anymore. I had to unlock a different kind of power, the one that I had been hiding from everyone in the pack.
