Falling For My Mysterious Wife by Cassidy Alfaro

Chapter 474

Chapter 474
Along with the squeal of tires, the car pulled over. Elaina was about to ask what happened when she met Jalen's eyes that were
staring at her.
He looked quite hurtful.
Why?
He is the one who hurt me.
"Elaina, is that what you think of me?" After a while, Jalen asked in a low voice filled with sorrow.
Elaina felt a little uncomfortable, but she still smiled and said, "To be honest, Jalen, you have no credibility with me."
Jalen smiled bitterly. He knew that this was all his own fault. "I'm sorry..."
"You don't have to apologize. Even if you had a purpose in the beginning, I don't care. After all, you treated me well and I felt so
happy because of it." Elaina looked at Jalen with a smile on her face.
But to Jalen, what she said was like stabbing a knife in his heart. It made him very uncomfortable.
"Ella..."
"Let's go home. It's quite late." Elaina retracted her gaze from Jalen. Instead of keeping landing her eyes on Jalen, she turned to
look out the window. This showed that she seemed not to want to continue chatting.
Jalen felt helpless. He did not know how to explain for himself. It was true that he had already found out about the truth and hid it
from Elaina.
The car was started again and soon they arrived at the apartment. Jalen and Elaina walked into the elevator one after the other,
but neither of them spoke.
Soon, Elaina arrived at her door. Jalen felt that he should say something now before she went inside.
He called out to Elaina. "Ella."
Elaina turned around and looked at him with a questioning gaze.

"I like you. It has nothing to do with your family. Sometimes, I even wonder how good it would be if you were an ordinary person.
Perhaps this would be easier." He smiled bitterly and helplessly.
If Elaina was an ordinary person, he could just like her without any worries. No one else could stop them.
But she was not. So it just became much harder for them to be together.
Elaina looked at Jalen and saw the sincerity in his eyes, but she did not dare to believe it. "Maybe. In fact, I don't care who my
family is. I just want to know the truth."
In her heart, Dexter, Theodore, and Andrew were her family. She did not care about her biological parents at all.
She had no feelings for them, so she naturally did not care.
"I understand." Jalen nodded. He knew that Elaina meant it.
"Do you ... believe me?" Jalen looked at Elaina nervously, as he was afraid of getting a no answer.
Elaina smiled and said to him, "If you do mean it, why do you care about others' thoughts? It is important to leave no regrets."
Jalen smiled bitterly. What she said was reasonable, but it was not easy to follow that.
He couldn't do that, ignoring the feelings of others, Especially, he couldn't ignore Elaina's feelings since he cared about her the
most.
Unfortunately, Elaina had already entered the door, leaving Jalen standing there alone.
Inside the room, Elaina was lying on the sofa, not wanting to move at all.
The truth that she had been pursuing for a long time finally started to reveal itself in front of her, but she was not as happy as she
had imagined. She hoped that none of this was real.
The Gainsford family was nothing to her.
At that time, her phone rang. Elaina took a look at the screen and answered it, although she was exhausted. "Theodore."
"Ella, I will be back soon. What gift do you want? I will buy it for you." Theodore still sounded as gentle on the other side of the
line, but Elaina was not as happy as before.

The long silence from Elaina made Theodore immediately notice that something was wrong. "What's wrong? Did something
happen?"
