Fall For “My Husband’s Uncle” By Janet Macadam

Chapter 40

Chapter 40

Edith didn’t try to hide it. For her freedom and for her and Johann’s happiness, she could only brace herself.

“What do you think… I can give you?”

“You?” Hearing this, Carlos sized Edith up from head to toe. His gaze was too aggressive, giving her a feeling that she had nowhere to hide. It was as if she was standing naked in front of him.

Edith subconsciously took a step back and hugged herself tightly..

Carlos said lightly, “Are you richer or more powerful than me? Or do you have something that I don’t have?”

“L”

Edith was speechless and suddenly realized that she didn’t have anything to trade with Carlos.

“Your only advantage is that you’re a woman. You should know what to do,” Carlos said frivolously.

Edith’s face turned red when she heard that.

She was not a fool, so she naturally understood what Carlos meant.

“In your dreams!” Edith resisted fiercely. No matter what, she would never sell herself.

Seeing how nervous she was, Carlos laughed. His laughter was filled with mockery.

Carlos pinched Edith’s chin. His nails were sharp and cold, clinging to her skin.

Edith was forced to raise her head and look up at him humbly.

Carlos approached her aggressively. No matter how hard Edith tried to dodge, it was useless.

Carlos‘ lips were getting closer and closer to Edith. His warm breath was sprayed on her face as if a ball of fire was burning her.

In the end, Edith could only purse her lips and close her eyes tightly, not giving him any chance to kiss her

Unexpectedly, at this moment, Carlos‘ mocking, voice came to her ears. “Do you think I will kiss you? You’re so confident. If I want a woman, I will naturally have one more beautiful and obedient than you. You’re not good enough to attract me. Wait until you are qualified to negotiate with me.”

After that, Carlos turned around and left without any emotion.

When Edith opened her eyes, Carlos had already left. However, there was still his domineering aura in the air. It came from all directions to her.

Carlos was like someone who walked in darkness. He had a terrifying aura, like a bottomless abyss, mysterious and dangerous.

Carlos‘ words were so familiar. He and Edith’s husband talked to her in the same tone.

Edith thought, “They are indeed uncle and nephew. Why did they have the same idea? No wonder they are a family of profiteers.”

Edith was a little disappointed. It seemed that she couldn’t get support from Carlos, but Edith was not discouraged. She had to live for herself.

Carlos came in alone, Robert asked in confusion, “Where’s Edith? Didn’t you go find her?”

“You don’t have to invite her in the future. I don’t like women getting too close to me,” Carlos said lightly without any emotion on his face.

The other three looked at each other and began to whisper.

Brian scratched the back of his head and said, “Robert, it looks like you’re going to lose this time. Edith didn’t arouse Carlos‘ interest. Although Carlos has a good impression of Edith, she can’t get a place in his heart.”

“Carlos can’t forget that person. How can another woman make him fall in love?” Aaron shook his head and said.

However, Robert did not think so. “Don’t jump to conclusions so easily. If you can all guess what he is thinking, then he is not Carlos.”
