“Get to the point!” Seeing that Robert was about to reveal all his secrets, Carlos hurried to interrupt. 

Robert rolled his eyes grumpily with a cough. 

“He’s asking me for help, but he’s still so overbearing. He’s really something.” Robert thought. 

“Edith, it’s natural for a man to be hurt by his ex–girlfriends. Carlos seems strong, but he is fragile enough! He doesn’t care about what happened between you and Johann. Why do you care so much about his relationship with Natalie in the past?” 

“I’ve broken up with Johann and swear that there is nothing between us now. Dare he swear as I did?”

Seeing her shocked face, Robert knew that he had finished his task, so he left quietly. 

The private room fell quiet again. The two of them were staring at each other with embarrassment. 

Edith’s cheeks were still burning. She felt greatly ashamed after coming to her senses. 

“I… I still have something to do. I’ll go back first.” 

She wanted to escape but Carlos seized her by her hand. “Not wanna play Texas Hold’em poker anymore?” 

“No… I don’t…” 

“I’m here at your back.” 

Carlos curled his rosy lips, forming a glamorous arc.

“Edith, leave them to me. You wanna win, right?”

Robert could no longer smile but looked at Carlos helplessly. “Carlos, you won’t be so cruel to me, will you? I’ve helped you a lot!” 

“You know too many of my secrets.” 

Carlos spoke in an indifferent manner. 

Robert couldn’t be more regretful. How stupid he was to joke on Edith! 

He should have been wise when serving someone as powerful as Carlos. 

Unsurprisingly, Robert lost miserably whenever he was the dealer. 

The atmosphere in the room was harmonious, and Edith seemingly didn’t feel embarrassed anymore. 

She sat side by side with Carlos and whispered to his ear to discuss how to play cards. She did it very naturally without feeling uncomfortable at all.
