When Robert and Brian saw the title of the book, they burst out in laughter, swaying back and forth. Aaron rolled his eyes at them as he said seriously, “Carlos, the title of the book might seem ridiculous, but it’s really useful for men like us! I’ve already learned how to appreciate the beauty of women around me!”
“Haha! Who do you like? Who is that unlucky girl?” Robert laughed heartily.
Aaron narrowed his eyes and kicked Robert’s chair, causing the latter to fall to the ground.
Just as the three of them were bickering non–stop, Carlos slammed the table.
He grabbed the book and threw it into the trash can. His eyebrows knitted together tightly, and his face was full of anger.
“Enough, I don’t need this at all. Regardless of whether she’s willing to be my wife, she’s already mine. How could she run away? That’s all for today. I’m tired. Let’s go back and rest.”
Seeing that Carlos was angry, the three of them restrained their smiles and left the private room one after another.
Soon, the waiter went in to clean up. He picked up the novel from the trash can and sent it to Carlos, who was waiting in his
car.

The waiter broke out in a cold sweat and nodded repeatedly. He would never dare to defy Carlos!
The car
started to move, and Sam looked at the novel in Carlos‘ hand with interest. “Mr. Lawson, why are you interested in these romance novels that girls like to read?”
“Why do you think girls like these?”
“Because the love stories in the books are sensational, and there are also scenes they fantasize about. Since they can’t find the perfect man of their dream in reality, they can only turn to the virtual world. In short, their hearts are empty, and they needed something to satisfy their imagination,” Sam analyzed, but he was still wondering why Carlos wanted to read these novels. As soon as he picked up, a mocking voice came from the other end. “It’s been a long time, my old friend.”
When Carlos heard that, his brows knitted tightly together as his eyes narrowed dangerously. Waves of emotions surged
within them.
The atmosphere in the car suddenly became tense and weird.
“Edward.”
He read out the caller’s name coldly.
Upon hearing that, Edward, who was the man on the other end of the line laughed weirdly. “It turns out that you still remember me. Then you should also remember our agreement, right? How dare you go on a date with my fiancée and fooled around with her the entire day? Am I dead to you?”
The phrase “fooled around‘ made Carlos frown even deeper.
Edward had a hot temper. He had trained in the special forces for a long time and appeared to be too unyielding, as well as
too ruthless.
How could he be a good husband?
Carlos narrowed his eyes. He would never forget the day five years ago when he had the woman he loved most taken away from him, while there was nothing he could do.
It had been five years since she left. Carlos did not expect that she would return this time around with Edward.
“Edward, the five–year deadline is approaching. It’s still unknown who Natalie will belong to in the end.”
“Oh? Really? Then let’s wait and see,” Edward said gloomily and then hung up the phone.
Carlos‘ expression was solemn, earning him a question from Sam. “Was that Mr. Jones?”
“Yeah.”
“Is Miss Huffam back too?”
“Yeah.”
“Then… then sir…” Sam hesitated, unable to complete his sentence.
Carlos was losing his patience, and it made him ask coldly, “What are you trying to say?”
