Extracts from The Diaries of 'Professor' Cornelius Crane

Chapter November 4th, 1968

The great thing about going to see reruns of old movies at the theatre, as opposed to watching them on TV, is that you get to see the stuff in beautiful Technicolor and CinemaScope. The TV networks will only start Letterboxing the widescreen movies around the mid-eighties.

Our TV set is a black and white model, which only helps to make my gray existence even more so. In fact, if memory serves me well, I think we were…will be the last on our block to get a color TV set – and a second hand one at that.

Nikolai Tesla invented the first remote control device way back in the late 1800s, but most families here still have to get up and change the channel physically.

At least some of the couch potatoes back here got…get a little bit of exercise.

God, I miss my satellite dish and the 52 inch High Definition wall-mounted Flatscreen TV that I had in my beautiful mansion on Berkley hill.

Not to mention the Dolby Digital Surround-Sound system!!!
