Experiment Number One

So, that’s it. That’s the end of my story.

You already know what happened after I left my siblings behind. Director Raimond connected me with the island of Howe; now I reside here. I mean, it’s pretty cool. The tropic atmosphere is breath taking and everyone is friendly. Well, most people are. Many believe I will steal something from their island like Ren Clash did, but I totally understand their hesitation against outsiders.

For the record, I’ve been working with the chancellor of the island and my current interviewer, Wit, on developing my powers. She claims she’s not a mutant but has some abilities that make me question otherwise. Especially the third eye on her forehead. But, hey, to each their own. I’m just glad there is someone out there that I can relate to just a bit, you know?

I lost feeling in my left arm from the gunshot wound in my shoulder so it’s utterly useless. Not only do I have to adapt to a new place of living and a new culture, I’m still trying to get use to my powers, and I have to learn different ways to preform simple task with only one arm. You don’t think about how much your limbs work in unison until one is gone. It’s been a struggle but I have a strong support system backing me up.

I don’t know where my life is heading, but I guess that’s what freedom means. My whole life, I have been stripped of a choice in my future. My path had be inscribed without my hand. But now, I have the chance to be with myself. I don’t have to depend on anyone or have anyone rely on me. It’s time to leave my past behind and create the future that I want- whatever that ends up being.

So yeah. Thanks for listening, I guess. I hope this wasn’t incredibly boring, but I’m sure it was. I mean, who really cares about Emerye Mendoza? The first documented mutant in two thousand years? I guess you would if you also had the power based M-Gene. But I’m sure we would know by now if there were more out there.

But, I guess the world doesn’t know about Wit. So, we’ll see what is destined to be revealed.
