Chapter 529
Chapter 529 Sudden Attack
The speed of the truck left them no time to react.
The car door and the window were locked, and the driver was already in a panic. He could only turn the steering wheel, trying to
avoid colliding with the truck.
In the nick of time, Ormand picked up his laptop and smashed it against the car window.
With a loud noise, the window glass shattered into pieces.
He turned around, gesturing to switch seats with Viola so that she could jump out of the window first.
"There's no time.You jump first.I'll keep up."
Seeing that the truck was approaching really fast, Ormand had no choice but to jump out of the car.
After a few nimble rolls, he reached the side of the road.
Viola followed closely behind.
Bang! The truck crashed into the taxi, and Viola just made it at the last moment.
The collision didn't slow down the truck.
It continued to slide because of inertia, and it headed in the direction where Viola jumped off the car.
Viola deftly avoided it, and the truck didn't stop until it crashed into a wall.
The poor taxi driver was never able to jump out of the window, and there was a pool of blood.
Ormand went to Viola in the first place and checked if she was injured.
"Don't worry.I'm fine."
Viola shook her head.
The two of them stood on the roadside, looking at the terrible scene of the car accident where they had a narrow escape.
"My wife and I were on our way to the airport. We were nearly hit by a truck, and I think it was a deliberate act.I'll send you the
location.Send someone to check it out.Hurry up."
Ormand then called Dakota.
After hanging up the phone, he was sending his location to Dakota when the trunk was opened, and a group of men with bats
and masks jumped out of the truck.
They were aiming at Viola and Ormand.A fight was on.
Two against forty.
What a scene.
Viola and Ormand had been there before, and they were quite used to it.
But there were too many people, and they didn't have weapons.
They would soon be tired If they just fought barehand.
Ormand said to Viola, "It seems they are coming for you.We can't fight long. You go first.I'll block their way."
"No, we have to go together.I won't leave you alone."
Viola refused. She sounded serious. She then took off her high-heeled shoes and rushed into the crowd barefoot, and snatched a
bat from a man.
Now she could beat ten people with a weapon, and she showed no mercy.
Ormand had no choice but to continue. He would pay attention to how Viola was going on and help her when necessary.
The intense street fight lasted for a full five minutes.
The masked men were lying on the ground, wailing.
Viola and Ormand were powerful.
These men were falling down.
In just a few minutes, Viola and Ormand were winning.
Until...
Bang!
A deafening gunshot rang out and shot Viola in the arm.She let out a groan, and blood gushed out.She pressed her arm, and the
pain started from the wound, and then it spread throughout her body. She acted more slowly than before, and she was hit heavily
on the back of her head by someone.
"Viola!"
Viola staggered a few steps forward and fell onto Ormand. She leaned against his back to barely keep balance.
Ormand turned around and dragged her into his arms.
He stared at the men and growled in a cold voice, "You'll all pay for what you've done!"
He was like a mad lion, and his eyes showed a bloodthirsty ruthlessness.
Viola felt dizzy, and the pain was blinding her.She could only lean against Ormand's chest.
In order to prevent Viola from being shot again, Ormand covered her tightly.
He had to protect Viola and fight those people at the same time, which was almost impossible.Besides, he had to be careful
about the gun that he didn't know where. It now seemed they were losing.
But soon, the shrill sound of sirens sounded.
After Dakota received the call, he did not receive the location that Ormand was supposed to send him a long time ago.
Sensing that something was wrong, he informed the police of Spain, and they responded quickly.
The masked men could only surrender when faced with the armed police.
Viola and Ormand were protected by the police.
Dakota Rushed over to see if they were fine.
Ormand looked at Viola, who was unconscious in his arms.He did not look up and said coldly, "There is someone with a gun. It's
eight o'clock, and a sniper rifle is about 0.3 miles away.Go check it out."
"Alright." Dakota asked a team of policemen to the place where Ormand said.
Ormand looked at Viola with bloodshot eyes and gritted his teeth.
"Dakota, my wife and I encountered such a deliberate car crash and a fight under your jurisdiction. You must investigate this and
give me an explanation.Otherwise, I will not let it go." Dakota nodded.
"Don't worry.I'll get to the bottom of this."
As the leader of the National Bureau of Investigation of the United States, Ormand was attacked during a business trip to Spain
with his wife.
The consequences could be serious.
If Dakota couldn't handle it well, it would affect the relationship between the two countries.
A few minutes later, the ambulance arrived.
"Mr.Hobson, we need to carry Mrs.Hobson into the ambulance and give her an examination.I will take all these assailants back to
the police station. When Mrs.Hobson gets better, you can come over to the police station."
Ormand nodded and carried Viola to the ambulance without delay.
The medical staff went forward to deal with Viola's injury.
The wound was very deep, and the bullet was in Viola's arm.
The unbearable pain gave her cold sweat.
Ormand held her in his arms.
From the beginning to the end, he never let go.He was shaking terribly, angry, and blaming himself.
The bullet had to be extracted with tweezers, and the medical staff brought the anesthetic.
"I'll do it," Ormand said as he reached out, his hand covered with blood.
He took a deep breath to keep himself steady. He pierced the tip of the needle through her skin.He gently pushed the medicine to
put her out.He did it carefully, afraid of hurting Viola again. And he also extracted the bullet himself. He was an army man who had
run through gunfire.
Extracting a bullet was easy for him.
Maybe he was even more professional than the doctors.
After wrapping up the wound, the doctor went up to check the back of Viola's head.
Viola's skin was fair, and there were obvious bruises on the back of her head.
The doctor checked it and said, "There is no bleeding. No serious injury here, but I still need to get an MRI to confirm. From what I
get here now, it should be a minor injury."
Ormand didn't believe him.He would only rest assured after the results came out.
"Drive to the hospital. She needs a full examination."
"Yes, Mr.Hobson."
The doctor then turned to call the hospital.
Viola's face was pale, and she woke up and heard what he said. She grabbed Ormand's wrist and said in a weak voice, "I'm
fine.It will take a whole day if I get a full body examination.Since the doctor said that it is a light injury and I am awake, we don't
have to go to the hospital."
Ormand sighed, "If you don't want a full checkup, then at least take an MRI.There are too many nerves in the head, and it's easy
to get hurt.I will only be at ease when I see the final result."
"I know my body, and I can think straight.I might have a slight concussion. My brain is not bleeding.I don't want to go to the Spain
hospital.I only trust Kolby as a doctor. After the things here are done, I can have a full body examination back in the United
States."
Viola sounded so organized and clear, and she was very persistent.
Ormand had to agree.
"Alright. You think today's attack was a little weird, right?" Viola nodded.
Those men in masks were completely targeting her.
And they even used a gun, which was outrageous.
Who was so ruthless? Whoever it was, that person must hate Viola to the bones. She had to find out, or she would be in constant
danger.
Ormand understood what she was thinking. He carefully adjusted her posture in his arms so that she could lie comfortably.
"Then rest in my arms for a while.I'll get the driver to send us to the police station."
Viola nodded, but occasional daze would happen.
The scent of Ormand wrapped her, and she soon fell asleep.About ten minutes later, the ambulance arrived at the police station.
