Evil Angels

Chapter 36

Larus’ POV

A weird sensation fell over me as my heart felt like someone was pulling on it. My eyes started to tear up but I had no idea why. Then, a loud scream rippled through the air causing the angel I was fighting to cover their ears. I looked around noticing that all the angel’s were cowering and covering their ears while the evils looked around just as confused as me. Randomly, the angels then began to fly away from us and out of sight like some type of force was telling them to retreat.

“Larus!! It’s Elijah!”

I snapped back from my confusion and realized what that strange feeling was.

Elijah was hurt.

I flew as fast as I could to Alexandra, finding her holding a bleed arm up to Elijah’s mouth while he wasn’t moving.

No this can’t be happening.

Alexandra had more tears falling from her eyes, “Come on, please wake up. You are not going to die.”

All the other evils began landing around us. Vera wrapped her arms around me, “I am so sorry Larus.”

Every feeling was hitting me. Anger. Sadness. Guilt. Tears streamed down my face and my body felt like falling apart right then and there. Demarcus knelt down next to Alexandra who also bit into his arm, holding it to Elijah’s mouth, “Come on Elijah. Now is not your time.”

The blood Demarcus was giving him soon just pooled and spilled out of his mouth. Alexandra panicked and grabbed onto his body, “Please do something. Call me pipsqueak again. Anything. You can’t leave Larus again, you demon!”

Just then Elijah sucked in a giant breath but his eyes remained closed. Alexandra looked over him, “Holy shit he is breathing again… Someone go to the medical room. We have to patch him up.”

Vera let go of me as I collapsed down on the ground next to Elijah.

You were going to leave me again. Thank Satan you are breathing.

Emma and Andy came running out of the house with a med kit and over to us. Emma grabbed onto Alexandra while Andy attended to the giant wound on Elijah’s chest. Emma was panicking over Alexandra, “Your wing is cut and your arm!”

“I am fine Em. I just need to go find a rabbit or something.”

Demarcus put his hand on my shoulder, “How about we all go back to my territory? We don’t know why the angels left but we should get out of here. My horde has good doctors that can watch over Elijah and tend to everyone else.”

“But the angels saw your horde fighting. They might just go attack you guys.”

He shook his head, “I assure you, they have no idea how to find my horde.”

I nodded my head, “Very well then. We will go. I just need to get something out of the attic first.”

Alexandra tried to stand up but stumbled back to the ground, “Larus… I don’t feel too well.”

Emma held onto to her, “See you aren’t fine, Alex. You lost a lot of blood and you gave some to Elijah too.”

She shook her head, “No I am fine…”

Alexandra then collapsed into Emma and passed out.

Not my fledgling too!

Alexandra’s POV

I opened my eyes up feeling really drowsy. I had a massive heartache and my whole body felt heavy.

I was asleep? I haven’t slept in months.

Felt a hand grabbed onto mine and I looked over to see Emma sitting beside me. She had a bandage on her arm, “Good morning Alex. You have been asleep for hours.”

I took in a deep breath, “Well I haven’t slept for months... Where are we? What happened? What happened to the angels?”

“You passed out from all the blood you lost so I had to give you some of mine. Apparently, a cut from an angel sword makes you weak for a couple days afterwards even if it is healed so you are going to need to relax for a while… The angels randomly left apparently while you were with Elijah. Also, we are in Speartail territory and you wouldn’t believe it but this horde lives underground!”

The angel just left?

Wait… I took her blood again! I am such a bad mate. How could I do this?

Emma sighed, “Alex, stop thinking like that. I needed to do it and I was fine with it. You should be more disappointed about making me feel all guilty about it because we have to share emotions.”

I nodded, “Okay. I am sorry.”

She then jumped up, “I almost forgot! I met Demarcus’ mate. Her name is Izzy. She is so nice and it turns out she is a doctor here… I should probably go get her since you woke up too. I will be back.”

Emma then left the room while I used almost all my energy to sit up. My body felt so heavy and my wings were getting uncomfortable as they were falling down towards the floor. I looked around the room, noticing that I was in a sort of hospital room like we had at home.

I hate this.

A few minutes later Emma came back with a shorter girl with curly brown hair and a doctor’s coat on. She smiled and walked over to me, “It’s nice to see you awake, Emma has been talking a lot about you. I am Izzy.”

“Nice to meet you.”

She walked over to my wing and picked it up, “So the stab will leave a scar and you will be weak for the next few days but other than that you are good. I do suggest to relax for a bit, your body might have been thrown off by sleeping for so long.”

I nodded, “I will try my best… Where is Larus and Elijah?”

Just then Demarcus walked in and answered my question, “Elijah is just down the hall and Larus hasn’t left his side. He is really torn up right now, we are trying our best to get through to him.”

I almost shot up out of bed but Emma held me back, “Not so fast, you can barely lift your own wings. You need to focus on you before focusing on others.”

Izzy nodded, “She is right. Her blood may have healed you but an angel sword is different not to be messed with. You can visit him later, you have only just woken up.”

I sighed and slumped back onto the bed, “Okay. How is Elijah doing?”

“Elijah’s injury is healing properly. We just have to wait for him to wake up which can range a few hours to a few weeks, only time will tell.”

A few weeks?!

Demarcus wrapped an arm around Izzy, “We will leave you two alone for a while. Goodbye for now.”

They both left while Emma curled up next to me and fell asleep.

Must be nice to sleep whenever you want. Then again she probably hasn’t the whole time I was asleep.

About two hours later, I was finally able to lift my wings and with enough convincing I walked over to Larus’ room. When I walked in, Larus was slumped in a chair next to the bed staring at Elijah. His wings and tail were drooping down to the floor. I walked in quietly and closed the door, “Larus?”

He turned to glance at me, showing his sunken eyes and grey tear streaks down his face before he turned back to Elijah. I walked closer to him and set a hand on his shoulder, “Larus, I just wanted to check on you. I woke up about two hours ago.”

His voice was empty and monotone, “Yes… You got to wake up. Good for you. He hasn’t had that luxury.”

This is not the Larus I know.

I took my hand from him, “You don’t mean that.”

He sighed, “Maybe I do, maybe I don’t… All I know is that I killed those angels and I couldn’t protect him and that is a guilt I have to live with.”

I shook my head, “Larus, that is just the angel in you talking-”

He stood up and glared at me, lifting his wings, “I am not an angel, I am evil! And you know what, you too. You put him in this bed! You were the reason he was stabbed with that sword! Now leave us you vile demon! You don’t get the right to see him. Get the hell out of here!”

There was nothing I could do but to submit to his order. Even though he wasn’t in the right state of mind he still had power over me, being my maker. I bowed my head, “Yes maker.”

I shuffled out of the room and slammed the door. I slumped down onto the floor and then I heard Emma coming towards me. She sat next to me and held my face in her hands, “What happened in there? Are you okay?”

My whole body felt weak and sadness washed over me, “I am the reason Elijah got stabbed with that sword. I put him there. It is all my fault.”
