Evil Angels

Chapter 28

Emma’s POV

I sat in the store with my elbows on the counter and my head leaning against my hand.

It has been such a slow day.

I watched as the hands on the clock slowly ticked by, dragging my shift on for what felt like hours. Andy left about an hour ago saying he was feeling a little sick. I was really getting worried about him with all these sick days he has been taking lately.

The ring of the phone woke me up from my boredom. I reached back and answered it, “Hello.”

“Oh sweetie! Thank the lord you answered. It’s Mr. Peterson," Mrs. Peterson’s panicked voice sent my heart rate up.

“Mrs. Peterson? Where are you?”

“I am at home. He had some trouble breathing and now he just collapsed.”

“I will be right there. Don’t worry.”

I quickly hung up the phone and locked the door, leaving all the lights still on. I rushed into the cold night towards the Peterson’s house a little ways down the street. The door was already creaked open when I got there and I walked in to see Mrs. Peterson sitting by Mr. Peterson’s unconscious body. Andy was there too, kneeling down next to her. He looked up at me, “Emma, come here dear..”

I knelt down next to him and looked over at Mrs. Peterson that had tears running down her face. I gazed over at Mr. Peterson. A wall of sadness hit me, “How long?”

Andy avoided eye contact, “He has been dead for two minutes.”

Why isn’t Alex or Larus here?

“I will be there soon, Em.”

But, he is already dead.

“I am not coming for him.”

Suddenly, Mrs. Peterson gasped and collapsed on her side. Andy’s eyes widened as he checked her pulse, “Oh god. Please don’t take her too.”

Holy shit! Mrs. Peterson!

Alex then came through the door in her human form with Larus. Alex looked at the Petersons, “Larus there is another human here. What should we do?”

Then Andy did the impossible. He stood up and grabbed me while revealing huge white beautiful feathery wings, “I should have known Evils were going to be here.”

Larus and Alex both let their evils out, ready to fight. Alex stared down Andy, “Let. Her. Go. Angel.”

I looked back and forth between all of them. Larus sneered, “I knew something didn’t seem right about him.”

WAIT A MINUTE! ANDY IS AN ANGEL!!!!

Andy’s grip tightened on me, “I will not let her go as long as you are here, evil.”

“Fledgling, it is your mate. You make the call and I will follow.”

“We aren’t going to move until I know she is going to be safe.”

Elijah then flew in behind Larus. He looked over the whole situation then at Andy, “Look angel you can have the souls. Just give us the girl.”

Andy pushed me behind him and lifted his wings up higher, “I don’t want the souls. I want you guys gone and away from my watcher.”

Watcher?

Larus’ eyes grew wide, “You are her Guardian…”

The rogue angel?

Andy sighed then his wrinkled skin began to vanish away into pale, smooth perfection. His short white hair grew longer and into a braid. After the strange transformation he looked 50 years younger.

His voice floated through the air, “I thought you never would have guessed. My real name is Andya and yes I am a rogue angel, Emma… Now that you have made me reveal myself to my watcher. Leave before I take further action.”

This is getting too out of hand.

I tried to push past Andy but he grabbed my arm, “Stay back Emma. This is for your safety.”

I shrugged him off, “They won’t hurt me.”

Out of nowhere he pulled out an angel sword, “They are evils! You have no idea what they are capable of!”

Oh shit!

He tried to lunge forward towards Alex but I stood in front of his blade. I instantly felt Alex panicking at my action but I wasn’t going to be the reason she gets hurt again, “I know what they are capable of and I will not let you hurt my mate.”

His eyes grew wide, “I knew I sensed something different in you lately.”

“Larus, I don't think I can control my evil much longer. What do I do?”

*I hear angels coming. We need to get out of here now.*

“We need his sword put away.”

Elijah stepped forward next to me, “Look angel, your friends are coming and they are after Emma… So you have a choice. Come with us and put the sword away or put the sword away and let us go.”

Andy smirked and put his sword behind his back, “They are not my friends and I will come with you only because I have a lot to explain to Emma… I will see you guys there in a few minutes.”

With that Andy stretched his wings and walked out the door. Alex rushed up to me and looked me over, “Are you okay? Did the sword touch you?”

I laughed and wrapped my arms around her, “I am fine. Let’s get home.”

Alex picked me up, “Definitely. I am getting tired of these angels all the time.”

We all went outside and soared into the sky.
