Evil Angels

Chapter 22

Larus’ POV

Grey tears slowly began to run down from both of our eyes.

My mate is alive.

I still stood frozen in the middle of the hall with Elijah still in the doorway.

Is this a dream? This can’t be real.

He laughed and held out his arms, “I promise I am real, fledgling. Now, come here. I will prove it to you.”

My feet guided me into his arms which he pulled me closer to him as soon as I touched him. It almost felt like my heart was healing itself back together. I may be over hundreds of years old but nothing could stop me from breaking down right then.

More tears flowed down my face, “You are my mate.”

He kissed the top of my head, “I know, fledgling. I am sorry I left you.”

I shook my head, “You didn’t leave. You were taken and I was too weak to save you.”

Elijah titled my head up to make me look at him, “You are not weak. You have a fledgling and trust me, she sure as hell thinks you are pretty bad ass.”

“Oh really?”

He laughed, “Definitely. She told me you would tear my limbs off if I tried anything weird.”

“Damn right I did.”

I laughed at Alexandra’s input and wiped my face clean of tears. Elijah’s face went blank.

*Weird.*

I forgot he could hear my thoughts... Which means he can hear Alexandra’s too.

“I don’t want him hearing my thoughts.”

Great, that means she can hear him too.

*Well it looks like you will have to deal with it.*

I released my mate and crossed my arms, “Now, now you two. You better get used to each other. I will not tolerate hostility in this home.”

Alexandra crossed her arms glaring at him, “I don’t trust him.”

Emma was watching her and holding on to her arm in an attempt to calm her down.

What the hell?! Why doesn’t she trust my mate?

I lifted my wings up behind me to tower over her, “Alexandra, what is the meaning of this?”

She stared back at me unfazed when normally this would instantly cause her evil to back down. She lifted her wings up too, “Maybe you should ask him. Or would your maker like me to explain why he tied me up and punched me to get information on Emma?”

The fuck?!

Emma looked furious, “He did what to you?!”

I focused over at my mate, seeing him morph into his human and hold his hands out, “Larus, I mean you no harm. Let me explain… I was working for the angels. When they first captured me they tortured me for days but later on they threatened your life, saying they captured you too, if I didn’t help them. I have been working with them for years. They gave me the assignment to capture the evil who has gotten close with a human. I was supposed to get information, find the human, and kill it. But… She called out your name. I realized that you were safe. So, I had to come back to you. Please forgive me. I am not ever going back to them.”

I nodded, “I forgive you but the one you should be asking for forgiveness is Alexandra. So, I suggest you both get your shit together because you are going to be living under the same roof.”

Alexandra glared at Elijah and wrapped an arm around Emma, “Stay the hell away from my mate and I might consider forgiving you.”

With that she picked up Emma and walked off upstairs.

Elijah sighed, “Well, I am off to a great start.”

I shook my head, “You of all people should know to not mess with another evil’s mate.”

“I swear I didn’t know she was her mate. I will work as hard as I can to fix things with your fledgling and her mate... Larus, I know the angelsI can help you guys.”
