Chapter Tenth Chant
Elements Unleashed – Final Showdown
One by one, four Callyps’ legates attacked me without success. Panting heavily, they slowly moved back a few meters and started whispering something one to another. There was only one thing for me to do, I had to eavesdrop their conversation.
“Chant #11. Sound wave.” I blurted out and I strained my ears. The small waft of air brought back to me laud and clear sounds of enemy’s voices.
“Commander never mentioned anyone so strong on this planet. They couldn’t get this much stronger so quickly.”
“Fool, remember what he said? ‘Be careful. Those scumbags have infinite potential, if you won’t finish them when they are weak, while you still have a chance, they will overpower you all and outrank you in skills and abilities before you even blink’. So we must be extremely precautious here.”
“Yes, indeed he mentioned some crap like that.”
“Let’s just hope there won’t be more freaks like him around.”
“Okay, so what is the plan Behllum?”
“We still don’t know what he’s capable of, we must force him to show us his true strength. If he exceeds us in any way, we have to gang up on him and attack full force before he can defend.”
I smiled. I still wasn’t sure who said what, because their voices sounds practically the same, but it looked like the smallest guy was in charge.
“Chant #4. Sky shoes.” I mumbled and instantaneously moved behind four figures talking few meters ahead. “Interesting strategy, but it won’t work on me. Tell me who you are, now.”
With calm voice and fierce look on my face I waited for an answer. Half masked faces, still shocked, looked at me ready to strike anytime.
The tall buffed guy, who rushed at me first, now took another step back. The small, hooded guy, who in my opinion was their team leader, took his hood and the mask off. Quite old looking man with grayed hair and small beard smiled at me.
“If you introduce yourself we might not kill you right away and eventually answer your question.”
“Fine.” I sighted. “My name is Akh Dhamm. I’m the protector of this world, now your turn.”
Four figures looked at each other and jumped back simultaneously taking off their cloaks and masks.
They stood in curved concave line, two tall guys on the outside, small old man and a person of unknown yet species nor gender in the middle.
“We are Raiders.” old man bowed and the rest followed his example. “Special soldiers unit composed of best fighters in Ta-imu Empire. I am Behllum. Behllum Uahr. This creature on my left is Phthora. The tall one on my right is Rushi Ferus, they call him Mort. The skinny guy over there is Kela Paran Fames. Nice to meet you, Akh Dhamm, protector of the Therra.”
“Okay, Raiders, what do we do now?”
“We kill you and you die.”
“Sounds promising. Just one final question. Where is Callyps’ fleet? Where are the ships?”
I had to take them seriously now. They were small fries but still could damage me enough for Callyps to have it easy way later. I adopted a fighting stance, right foot forward.
They looked at each other and took their stances too.
“I see. Done talking, time to take action.” I said. In a blink of an eye I was right before Ferus. In single punch this huge guy flew with ease couple meters back. “Element fusion. Stone, Fire, Wind. Chant #1. Magma Storm.”
Ground below the Raiders cracked open and red spheres made of magma flew up in the air, whirling around and trapping three raiders inside. Good, I could take care of Ferus for a few minutes now without any of them interfering.
I jumped to Ferus and pressed him into the ground. He already almost lost consciousness. As I though, he’s the weakest of them all.
As I stamped on him he fainted. It was faster than I thought. But it was perfect opportunity to test my new chant in battle.
I sat in the air in meditation pose. If I’d enter that mode without mental preparation I’d end up dead after deactivating it.
After few minutes of accumulating elemental energy Ferus started to regain consciousness. I had to hurry or the other Raiders will get out of Magma Storm and help him.
I finished meditation just in time, the Magma Storm was getting weaker and Ferus was almost fully awake, but still lying on the ground with his face in the dirt.
I landed before him.
“Master Elemental Fusion.” I kneeled and put the hand on his chest. “Chant #1. Dimensional Derivation.”
Gold mark appeared on the place where my hand was touching Ferus. Silver liquid quickly burst from the small black point in the middle of the mark and completely covered still knocked out Ferus. In a few seconds silver liquid with Ferus trapped inside of it was sucked back by the gold mark flying in the air.
Before it fully disappeared the Magma Storm ended and the rest three Raiders saw their comrade vanishing.
“W-what did you do to Mort?!” Phthora, weird creature, had spoken for the first time.
He rushed at me without thinking, I was prepared to everything, but Uahr – the old man – grabbed Phthora’s shoulder half way between us.
“What are you doing, Phthora? Whatever happened to Ferus can happen to you too if you won’t stay calm and alert.” Phthora calmed down and stepped back. “So, ‘Mr. Protector’, what did you do to Ferus?”
“I sealed him away in other dimension. If you insist on continuing this fight I will seal all three of you too. And after the seal is shut, it can’t be open for at least twenty thousand solar years of this planet.”
I steadily walked in their direction. I could sense their uneasiness and fear. Good, but I had to get some information first.
They slowly moved back step by step getting closer to their ships.
“Phthora, Kela, spread out, we can’t be too close to each other or he uses this fiery whirlwind trick on us again.” this said all three surrounded me, each of them in considerably long distance from me and each other.
“It’s useless. You shouldn’t underestimate my race and Callyps should’ve finished us when he had a chance. No matter how strong he thinks he is now, it’s not enough to take me down, I can assure you of that. Now, surrender and leave this Galaxy forever or be sealed for most likely eternity in closed void dimension. The choice is yours.”
They stared at me without blinking nor saying a word for a minute or two. Suddenly they all sat on the ground and muttered something. Green flashes of light flew out of their bodies, connecting in the midair right above me.
Was it some chant I didn’t knew about yet? Probably. I should have read those Ferus guy’s memory before sending him to timeless void.
“Time element. Chant #23. Greenland Prison.” all Raiders said it simultaneously and accumulated green lightning above struck down at me, creating cage-like box around me.
I smiled. I knew other variation of this element. He taught me that long ago. He was the worst Guide of them all. My cursed father.
“Lightning, Time. Chant #3. Reversal.” I whispered and easily canceled the chant three Raiders put so much strength in to perform. “I think I told you your options. You have no chance of winning against me.”
All three stood up, sweating and panting.
“Sir! Your contact is on the secured line.”
“Perfect, call the fleet, we attack immediately.” Callyps went away from the window. “While those idiots keep the strongest guy busy invading Therra should be a piece of cake.”
“Yes sir!” the officer picked up the earphone “To all units! Code Lizard-Omega-Chaos-King-Intel-15! Begin the assault!”
Callyps sat on his chair and looked at the screen with all his fleet ships marked on it.
“Mom! Mom!” the scream coming from the bathroom was hearable half a mile away from the house. “Mom! The water just stopped running! Can you check it?! MOM!”
But Meg wasn’t around. She was lying on the grass far away from house in the forest at mountains foothills. As she looked at the clear, cloudless sky above she couldn’t stop worrying about Akh and Therra.
Then, out of nowhere, the big shadow covered whole field. Meg turn her head to see what covered the sun. Shocked, tried to get up rapidly and get back to house as fast as possible. She’ve seen ships like that 15 years ago. They aren’t good sign, and some of them were heading straight at her house. Straight at her daughter.
“What’s the situation?”
“Ma’am! General Dhamm is holding 5 ships in the northern lands, no living things are around though. Furthermore, from the south-east huge fleet is closing in. It looks like they try to attack us here.”
“Why didn’t we saw them earlier?”
“They came from… You’re not gonna believe this, ma’am… It looks like they came from the moon!”
“Yes. From the moon indeed.” happy male voice came from behind the General Kazaeros, who was sitting closest to the doors.
Generals turned around. Hooded man was pointing small flahric gun at Lord Kazaeros head.
Lady Nasui took few steps forward but second gun was pointed at her from behind. The rest of the officers took out their weapons and pointed them all at confused Council members.
“Wh-why? Who are you!?” Lord Kazaeros turned around to see aggressor’s face.
“Me? You all know me well, Generals. I was on this planet first. Well, second if you count your precious Dhamm. But I wouldn’t worry about him, he will be dead before this planet perish to dust.”
“Y-you are…” Lady Nasui forcibly sat on her seat.
“Yes it is I.” man took down his hood and smiled. “The one who wasn’t good enough for real jobs. The one and only…”
“Sir! The Generals are secured, the fleet is ready to strike the city of Chronostary any time now, and looks like we located all intelligent living forms of live on this planet. They are grouped in few dozens of places, but we will be able to take them all out in no time.”
“Good. Take children and young men and women to custody. We might make some use of them later.”
“Yes sir. Units 3 to 8 head to the Chronostary, the rest spread out and capture every young person alive.”
“Now, how is Mr. Protector doing?” Callyps asked himself walking towards the window. “What?!”
Shocked Callyps hit the glass before him. Below the ship where Raiders and Dhamm were fighting there was only one person with at least meter long gray hair, covered in blood. Its cloths were mostly torn apart, and the ground was devastated wasteland. Raiders were nowhere to be found. Callyps took step back with rage on his face.
“How come?! How so fast!?! WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED THERE!?”
“Sir! We have the footage from the outside cams from all the ships, do you want quick fast forward hologram?”
“Don’t ask stupid questions, just play it!”
“Now, dear Council. You probably wonder why have I done what I did. The answer is simple. Revenge. You see, when I found out who killed my parents I was shocked and infuriated. Then I met the guy from Ta-imu. He said that he will help me get my revenge if I will be his spy. So I agreed without a slightest doubts.”
“Wait, you don’t mean…”
“Yes. I will help Callyps exterminate my race just for the sake of small revenge.”
“But why? Wasn’t Akh your best friend?” Lord Pohzar spoke for the first time in a while.
“Yes, he WAS my friend. Until I found out about his father’s deeds.”
“Sir! Commander is on the line. He wants personal report from you, sir.”
“If you excuse me, I have urgent call to answer. WAHAHAHA!” and he left with the officer, leaving Council locked up with his unit ready to kill them even for breathing.
“Ehvi! Ehvi! Where are you?!” Meg busted open the bathroom doors.
“Mom? What’s wrong? And moreover, where were you? I called you out for past ten minutes.”
“We must hide, hurry. Before they find the house.” Meg grabbed Ehvi’s hand and pulled her out of the bathroom.
“Hide? Why? Who will find us? Can you tell me what’s going on?”
“I will. Once we’re safe.”
I kneeled. I never thought those guys could force me to seal them all away at once. I breathed heavily.
I turned around. I had to use the opportunity of being in this mode to destroy the ships they flew in.
“Chant #6. Metal Implosion.” I walked to the closest ship, put one hand on it and snapped my fingers.
The ship slowly started to become smaller, sucking itself to the inside. When half of the ship was already gone, I took few steps back and watched the ship sink into nothingness forever.
I slowly walked to the second one and repeated the procedure. Then the next one, and the next one. After few long minutes I sat on the wasted dry ground in front of the last remaining ship. No one came out from it and it’s a lot bigger than those four previous ones. It must be someone high ranked, maybe even Callyps himself.
I couldn’t let my guard down now, but I had no energy left to keep up this mode. I had to take a break, even if only for a quarter.
I closed my eyes, flew up few feet and started meditation. My hair went back to normal, bruises were gone and marks on my back disappeared. I was able to breathe freely and calmly.
I tried to sense on that last ship Callyps or anyone who’d be a major threat, but it looks like the commanding officer is hiding its presence, weak or not even there, and it’s all just a diversion. Either way I had to replenish at least some of the energy first.
“Council! Great news!” known arrogant voice came from behind the doors.
“Let me present to you, the great conqueror, Commander of Ta-imu, Apo Callyps.”
The doors opened wide and hooded Callyps entered the Council commanding room.
With most of his face hidden behind the mask he walked around the table with map of Therra on it.
Generals unable to move were silently watching every move Callyps made.
“So then, dear Generals. We meet again. You seem old. You think I haven’t noticed my time perception was manipulated? Why do you think I let Lelaki get so close in the first place? Fifteen years. Quite long time you know. And all I ever wanted was to find my beloved sister, dear Princess Raida.”
“What do you want, Callyps? If you want to kill us…”
“Kill? You? No, no, no. You see, what I seek is my sister. And since you’re the ones that rule MWS I simply assumed you must know something. I gave you a chance when I met that guy fifteen year ago, what was his name again? Yakufe? But he refused to give me any information. Then I started to look on my own, why do you think I left you guys alone unchecked for so many years? After over a decade I finally found a trace, but of course, you were there first. It made me so angry I barely held myself from killing everyone on my ship. But here I am now. And I just want to meet him.”
“Him? Who?” Lord Kazaeros was the first one to open his mouth.
“Oh, don’t play dumb on me now. The kid you took from that Technomian ship right before I came to this Galaxy.”
“Lord Callyps, I think you can find Ken in closed facility below the city. He’s kind of a genius.”
“Oh, genius you say. Looks like it will be a pleasure to meet him after all.”
Callyps went out of the room. The moment the doors closed, four almost simultaneous gunshots were hearable. The doors opened again and the officers exited the room, following Callyps to the underground.
“Now boys and girls, let’s learn some foreign history.”
(end of part 1)
part 2
One half of the capital was completely leveled with the ground. The other half was either in flames or had already burnt down and only black smoke soared from the cinders.
Every single building I have ever visited got completely destroyed. The underground tunnels mostly sunk in, creating few tens of meters deep craters.
“What happened here?”
I felt something bad happening in the Great City of Chronostary the moment I recovered enough energy but apparently I came back too late.
I walked slowly though collapsing towers and fallen walls and buildings covered in fire looking around, searching anyone alive. In whole city there was not even single person left – neither dead nor alive.
I understand some people ran away but for the city to be destroyed like that without any casualties? Something was off. No corpses, no blood. It was as if all the citizens were taken prisoners or, what’s worse, turned to ashes.
The entrance to underground lab was still untouched. If Ken noticed the assault he surely followed my instructions and recorded everything that happened.
I had to find the records if they weren’t destroyed nor taken away.
Behind thick metal doors very steep staircase led deep beneath the surface, even deeper than the underground tunnels. In the middle of each level of the staircase there was a hole leading down to the very bottom of the pit. I had no time to go down using stairs so I simply jumped inside the hole.
After few seconds of free falling I saw small amount of light below me. In another few seconds the light grew bigger and brighter and I landed heavily at the bottom of the staircase. The doors to actual lab were locked and chant-proof.
On the small panel on the right I typed in emergency code known only by me and Ken. Actually it was known by more people, they just never knew it was a used as a code. It were numbers found on Ken’s ship when we found him.
Lab behind the doors also looked untouched. I found the records rather quickly, they were being played in a loop on the screen behind Ken’s desk. The record said it lasted not even ten minutes. I rewind it to the beginning.
The record starts when two hooded figures enters the lab. One of them took the hood down. It was Callyps. The second person was unidentified but it looked like Ken knew who it was, meaning it must’ve been someone from the city. One of our men.
Callyps and Ken talked about something for about two minutes and Ken turned on all cameras in the city. On the screen behind him the destruction was already in the process. Callyps left and unknown person exchanged looks with Ken. Ken grabbed his coat and left with unknown person pointing gun at him.
The view changed to the surface, as Callyps exited the lab, followed by Ken and hooded armed person. The citizens were being chained and teleported to the ships above the city.
The record ends with Callyps, Ken and Hooded being teleported and all ships firing small blue balls at every building that was still standing.
“Ken, what is Callyps after?” I turned the screen off and left the lab.
I asked myself this question many times before, but after seeing that record I had no clue why Callyps let us live both when he left fifteen years ago and after he returned.
I have never felt so confused before. I couldn’t kill him cold blooded without knowing the reason for his actions. I had to find out what he really was up to.
As I left the city I sat under some random tree right behind the walls. Everything except the city inside the walls was left alone.
‘I have to check other cities, if Callyps took prisoners here he might have taken some from outside the capital too’ I thought to myself and closed my eyes.
“Soul Element. Chant #4. Tajuu Tama Bunshin. (Multiple Double Soul)”
A dozen of small white balls came out from my chest and turned into white clones of myself right before me.
Without a word they flew out with lightning speed in all directions leaving my original body half dead under the tree.
There’s a limit to every chant, and when one tries to exceed this limit he usually dies. But one can still be alive when he reaches the limit and is the master of used element.
With so many parts of my soul taken away from my body I couldn’t do anything except waiting for their return.
After approximately twenty minutes last clone returned from the city of Barhos – city the furthest away from the capital.
As I feared, all cities met the same fate as Chronostary, complete annihilation.
On their way clones haven’t noticed any Ellementalls living outside the cities, even though there were many like myself and Meg who decided to leave their towns and build houses in the forests, mountains or on the lowlands.
I fused back with most of my clones, leaving myself with only one.
“Go home, check if Meg and Ehvi are safe in the hideout. Don’t leave them and don’t tell them anything.”
Clone left without a word. I stood up slowly. I still could sense many people on the planet, and the fleet hasn’t left the atmosphere either. What should I do?
“Welcome!” loud and deep voice of tall masked man with hooded crimson coat standing on the platform floating above chained Ellementalls drilled inside the heads of kneeling before him prisoners. “Most of you knows me well, but fifteen long years passed since we last met. Let me introduce myself again. I am General Commander Apo Callyps The Third, son of Apo Callyps The Second, Ruler of Ta-imu Galaxian Empire, Conqueror and Destroyer of Milky Way Society.”
The platform with Callyps and several other hooded masked armed with flahric guns men landed in the center of the crowd. Callyps stepped down on the floor, risen his hand and bowed.
“Nice to meet you all. There are some who’d like to fight back, but rest assured this is pointless…”
“Nothing’s pointless when the life is at stake” said someone in the crowd behind Callyps and the platform.
“Haha, well said, whoever you are. Anyway I’m here to give you an opportunity to survive and not to die meaningless death. You can lie under my rule and do as I command for the rest of your lives or die here and now in front of your families and friends.”
Callyps took few steps into the kneeling crowd. He stopped before young little girl, not even 10 years old, holding wooden doll in her weak, fragile hands.
Callyps patted her head and smiled when she looked up with her emotionless eyes at his half-hidden behind the mask face.
“What would you like more, little girl? Live or die?” he ripped the doll out from girls hands and crushed its head with single grip.
Little girl looked like she didn’t even noticed what happened.
Callyps stood up and laughed. After few more minutes of silent walking between kneeling prisoners, man with crimson coat returned to the platform and flew back up above enslaved race.
“What’s it going to be? Live or death? Those who don’t want to be slaves, arise. I promise your death will be quick.”
Every here and there men, women and children got up with deadly look in their eyes. Those who stood up were hit with flahric guns by guards from the platforms surrounding crowded prisoners.
“I can’t stand it, we must do something. There must be some warriors left here who can control elements enough to fight back.” pregnant woman sitting on the ground looked at people standing up, waiting for their deaths. “My husband wouldn’t let them die like this, it’s simply inhuman!”
“Calm down your voice, ma’am.” low male voice reached from behind her “I know how you feel but the best choice right now is to sit down and wait. We can’t help those who already gave up on fighting.”
Purple skinned bald man over 30 grabbed her shoulder. Qe Tohr always looked happy and cheerful but now his face showed nothing but sadness.
“Tohr, what do you mean? Do you have some kind of…”
“Plan? Yes, we have soldiers disguised as civilians in every corner, from every city. They wait for my signal to start the rebellion. Look there” he pointed at skinny man few meters away, kneeling on one knee, taking out blade shaped metal object from below his pant leg. “This is High Guard, same rank as your husband’s when he graduated. And there are hundreds more of us there. Don’t worry, we’ll take you back home, all of you. Just give us time and keep an eye on your little devil.”
Ever since they got taken away her daughter haven’t said even single word. She was just crouching, mumbling something under her breath. Suddenly she tried to stand up. However her mother managed to grab her sleeve and pulled her down before any soldier with gun noticed anything.
“What are you doing? Do you want to die? What would your father say?”
“He said I must make a distraction. And do it now.”
“Who said that?”
“Dad. He talked to me the entire time. Talked to me inside my head.”
“Wh-what are you saying? Are you sure it’s him? Are you sure you’re not deluding?”
“I know what I hear, mom! Dad asked me to create an opening for him to enter the ship before it leaves the planet. It means that he needs me to do it right NOW.” she tried to stand up again but before she noticed that she was lying on the ground and everyone else was rapidly standing up.
Air in the hangar they were into started to whirl, all chains were unleashed and thrown as metal spikes at guards on the platforms. People started to scream and chant, someone almost trampled her and her mother but they both got pulled out of the crowd full of warriors by tall black haired man with slight hoariness underneath the platforms with armed guards.
They looked around, every civilian was pulled out of the battlefield the same way.
“Meg, Ehvi, are you all right? General would kill me if something happened to you.”
I felt that presence just before Callyps returned to Therra. He was close, and he couldn’t escape me. I had questions to be answered and he was probably the only one left on Therra.
Few hours ago when my clone returned I knew something went wrong. Why did Callyps took so many prisoners? Only people considered old were left behind, but due to the pest 2 years ago everyone above 70 years old already died.
“Well, well, well” I was so caught up with my thoughts that I didn’t notice person I’ve been looking for was following me for quite some time now.
I stopped in the middle of rocky wastelands, turned around and saw young man, not much older than Callyps or myself sitting on the top of the hill nearby.
“Who’re you?”
“I think you know, you just refused to believe it” the man jumped down from the hill and landed softly couple of meters before me.
“I thought you were dead, sir.”
“The thing is, I am dead” black hooded character took small step towards me “but I’m also alive. I can’t die properly, and you know why. You saw me putting that chant of fate upon Callyps. You were the only one to see it, that’s why I left it to you.”
“But why are you here?” young man took off his coat which dematerialized the moment he dropped it on the ground.
“Good question, I wish I knew the answer to it. I left Callyps to you knowing you are the only one who can defeat him. You’re just like your father. He was actually my dear friend, I’m sorry I never told you that and avoided you all those years. I thought that Kazaeros will take care of you better than me, though your parents thought otherwise.”
“You knew my parents?”
“Of course I did. Your mother was my distant cousin and your father was my best friend. However I don’t have time to tell you stories about past. You will know them all in the right place at the right moment” he took few more steps towards me.
“Okay, what does Callyps want from us? From me?”
“From you? Nothing more than the truth. From all of us? Help. He came to our galaxy in search of his sister, however no matter how hard or how long he will look for her, he’s unable to find her.”
“Unable? Why?”
“Our universe is built from many similar galaxies. Each and every one of them is different, people are different, planets are different, laws of nature are different. There was a reason why Technomians stopped visiting our galaxy. Our race is millions of years old but we still fail to understand the cosmos. Interaction with neighboring galaxies can bring disastrous effects so unpredictable that they could end everything you know. Callyps fails to understand even something as simple as that. You can try to persuade him, but I spent last 15 years with him and I know he won’t change. His goal is to find his sister and destroy anything and everything that stands in his way to do so. It was her ship you found on your way to Therra, the one on which you’ve found that boy, Kenul. He shouldn’t be in our reality either, but what’s done is done. Only he knows where Raida is.”
“Raida?”
“It’s the name of Callyps’ sister. But when you found him he already sealed off all of his memories. To get rid of Callyps for good you must find his sister and defeat him in one on one battle in front of her. Only then he’ll listen. But if not, well… You can always seal him away. Looks like you’re getting better at it.”
“Are you saying I can’t beat him the way I am now?”
“Of course you can’t. I couldn’t lay a hand on him and you’re not that much stronger than I was. However if you enter THAT mode and use one specific chant on yourself, you might have the upper hand.”
What I heard was way too much to process properly without deeper thinking. Nevertheless if it was the only chance to beat him, I had to know it.
“Please, tell me, General…”
“Heh, I’m not a General anymore. I have a new name now. Buaya Lelaki.”
“Buaya… Lelaki…”
“Yes, and I have one more favor to ask you before I teach you the chant and we part ways.”
“Name it, Buaya Lelaki, sir.”
“THAT form has no name yet, and it’s meant for battle alone. I give you a mission to find its name. I couldn’t find it but that’s probably because my form was incomplete. Yours, however, can do the trick just fine.”
Find the name of THAT mode? How?
“I’d gladly accept that request however I have no idea where to look for it…”
“And where have you been looking for names all this time? Remember ADAM test?”
Yes, I remembered it very well. How did I knew their names? I always knew them, I only had to remember them.
“Yes, sir. I accept the request.”
“Good. Also, thank you for taking care of my daughter, I couldn’t think of better husband for her than you.”
“Thank you, sir.”
“I just wish I could be here and see he happiness. I remember how she couldn’t stop talking about that mission of TherraN-1 with you as her commander…”
“Sir? Aren’t we in a hurry?”
“Oh, yes… Sorry” Buaya sat on the ground in meditating position and nodding ordered me to do the same. “The chant I want to teach you is superior version to the one you’ve learnt few years ago, the one made of 13th element. This chant will show you true nature of thirteenth element and with it you will be able to defeat any opponent, no matter which galaxy is he from.”
I took deep breath. Buaya continued description of the chant.
“First you use basic four elements to create an aura surrounding you. Then you use three additional elements to enhance your natural abilities. After that you open external source of power with the remaining five elements. But remember not to use forbidden elements. Someone tried to do that long time ago and failed.”
“Who was it?”
“Your father of course. But I hope that Yakufe blood from your mother will stop you from such idiocy.”
I followed Buaya’s commands and awaited further instructions.
“Good. Now you must say this full incantation, and name of the chant. Otherwise power will flow through your body and all your veins will explode. Nasty death, I wouldn’t wish it to my worst enemy.”
“What’s the incantation?”
“When you enter THAT mode, you will know it the same way you knew everything up till now.”
Suddenly Buaya stood up and covered himself with black coat which appeared out of thin air.
“Wait! Is that it!?”
“Good luck, boy. I’ll be watching you from the shadows, but I’m too weak to interact anytime soon. Farewell.”
Buaya’s shadow on the ground darkened and he drowned in it like in quick sands.
“Good luck, boy. Good luck…”
