Chapter 33: Interlude
“The stars! The stars!”
A little girl ran around the green park, illuminated by few garden lights placed along the path, pointing her hand to the heavens. Countless stars twinkled brilliantly in the night sky, painting the otherwise dark landscape with an array of beautiful lights.
“They’re beautiful, aren’t they?”
Another girl approached and kneeled down beside her.
“Yes! Like you!”
The little girl said happily.
“Aww, that’s so sweet.”
With a wide grin, the girl ruffled through the child’s hair. The child reacted with a laugh and hugged her sister. Her sister caressed the child’s soft hair while looking up at the view. It looked so beautiful, so close yet so distant.
“Sister, we go to the stars!”
“Oh, you want to go? Sure, I’ll build you a tower so tall you can touch them, okay?”
“Okay!”
She smiled, looking at the giggling little kid.
Ad Astra, to the stars.
Because one day, I’ll take you to the stars.
Just you wait, Chione.
I promise.
