Chapter 17: In One Night She Fell From Heaven into Hell
Felicity left, leaving David behind feeling a little helpless.
He really wanted to help Felicity, but he couldn't do anything to a person of Lucas's status and could only sigh silently.
After returning to the company, Felicity and George discussed the matter of resignation.
George was a little surprised; he did not expect Felicity to really make such a decision, and he couldn't respond to her suggestion for a while.
In any case, if Felicity resigns, then the problem would be solved.
"Mr. Green, this is the negotiation that I have reached with Lucas Branson. You only need to fire me."
Felicity had decided to leave alone. She didn't want to drag down Jason with her.
"Did you think deeply about it?"
George asked Felicity again just to be sure.
"Yes! I have settled the matter with Lucas Branson privately; this will no longer affect the company. Please rest assured."
As long as he fired Felicity, FR Group would not be threatened by Branson Group.
"All right."
George nodded, since Felicity suggested this herself, he also agreed.
"I just wanted to ask you one more thing."
Felicity was still at unease and asked nervously.
"Sure! Go ahead." George said.
"All this situation happened because of me. I hope you won't embarrass Mr. Jason Reed about it. He had nothing to do with it."
Felicity did not want him to be implicated in her mess; it would be very unfair to him.
George nodded. He did not dare to offend Jason Reed anyway.
It was only that this whole situation took him by surprise.
Felicity submitted a letter of resignation and left the company after completing the procedures.
The moment she actually left the company, Felicity couldn't help but feel a little sad.
The internship opportunity that finally led to the job of her dreams was burned to the ground...
If she wanted to find such a decent job in the future, it was going to be even more difficult now.
And her graduation was approaching fast, but she was fired at such a time; so she couldn't even get the certificate of internship completion.
Like this, she was afraid it would be even hard to graduate.
From there, Felicity, feeling completely helpless, went directly to the hospital to see her mother.
Felicity's mother name was Sarah White.
She had accompanied Stanley through the most difficult period of his career. At that time, Stanley James was completely broke and had nothing to his name.
But Sarah did not complain to him at all; she stayed with him faithfully, encouraging and helping him discover his true potential.
She never put extra pressure and burden of responsibilities on him.
However, the world is always hard to predict. Stanley succeeded in his career, but after that he began to ignore his wife.
As he got rich, he found all kinds of temptations around him, but he did not have enough determination or faithfulness to ignore them.
Finally, Stella Cooper took advantage and swooped in snatching her mother's position.
Disheartened by her husband's unfaithfulness, Sarah accepted her fate and raised Felicity alone after divorce.
Even though she tried her best to maintain a positive and cheerful attitude towards life in front of her daughter, the broken family brought her huge psychological trauma and she fell into severe depression. And once being absent-minded while on the road, Sarah had a car accident...
Although her life was saved, she became a human vegetable.
Even though all the functions of the body and the brain were working, she just never woke up from her coma.
The doctor had said that Sarah was not completely unconscious. She was just in a coma for a while. They just needed to wait with hope.
It was just that Sarah didn't seem to have the desire to wake up.
Felicity was perplexed. She thought that maybe her mother's life was too hard, and she wanted to rest.
At such a time, Felicity lost her job. She felt very miserable, but had no one to share her pain with.
Felicity had to accompany her mother and massage her body.
The doctor said massages would help her mother regain consciousness, so Felicity regularly came to massage her mother.
That day, there was no one else in the ward, and it was very quiet. Felicity talked about the recent incidents in her life to her mother.
"I'm sorry, Mom. Your daughter is good for nothing; I even lost my job...'
Felicity sniffed. She really couldn't find anyone else to tell her pain.
"It's all my fault, if I wasn't so impulsive. Fortunately, no one else got hurt...."
"When will you wake up..."
Felicity didn't know what to do next; her future seemed to be a bleak.
It was as if in one night she fell from heaven into hell.
Felicity didn't care whether her mother could even hear her or not, she kept confiding in her in a low voice.
She knew that if her mother really heard it, she'd get worried.
But this way of venting her feelings by just speaking about it brought her some relief.
After Felicity left, George sat there absent-mindedly.
He couldn't concentrate on his work; he kept feeling something was wrong with the way he handled the situation. President Jason Reed was not an employee of FR Group. His taking on that identity that day was just to achieve something. Maybe his purpose to do that was to defend Felicity James?
He couldn't even offend Branson group, let alone the owner of the Reed Group, Jason Reed himself.
The more he thought about it, the more uneasy he became, so he decided to tell Jason about it.
Thinking Jason must be busy, he called his assistant, Garrett.
"Hello! Mr. Garrett Smith, I'm George Green."
George quickly greeted Garrett.
"Mr. Green? What can I do for you?" Garrett asked politely.
"Can you tell Mr. Reed something that happened here?"
George told Garrett all about the dismissal of Felicity from the company.
After hearing this, Garrett frowned slightly. Felicity James?
Wasn't that the person that his boss had been paying special attention to?
"Okay Mr. Green, I understand. I'll tell Mr. Reed about this."
He hanged up the phone. When Jason came back from a meeting, Garrett immediately reported the matter to him.
After all, towards that woman, his Boss's attitude had been quite unusual, and he dared not to neglect it.
After hearing about it, Jason frowned and asked abruptly, "What's the reason?"
"He said that it is because of the pressure from the Branson Group's son. Felicity was forced to make such a decision to try to save one party involved." Garrett described the situation roughly.
After hearing this, Jason's expressions sank. He obviously didn't expect that Lucas would go to such lengths to get his revenge on Felicity. Forcing Felicity to resign; he was indeed cruel.0
