Chapter 178 It’s So Good That You’re Awake 

Eric pressed his lips together, his deep eyes fixed on Kate. After a long pause, he spoke in a low, muffled voice, “Headache.” 

Kate looked at him anxiously, raising her hand to gently massage his head. “Is there anything else. uncomfortable?” 

Eric shook his head. 

He naturally exuded a powerful and cold aura, which hadn’t diminished even after waking up. But in front of Kate, he seemed to subconsciously restrain it. Kate even felt that Eric appeared a bit vulnerable. 

Maybe it was just her imagination. 

“Kate, I brought some porridge today, from your favorite place 

Hendrick walked into the room carrying a food box. He stopped mid–sentence upon seeing Eric, now awake, sitting up slightly with the bed adjusted, still looking a bit pale. 

“You’re awake?” 

Hendrick raised an eyebrow, pulled up a chair next to Eric’s bed, and gave Kate a complicated look. He sighed lightly, “You have no idea, these past two days Kate has been so worried about. you. She couldn’t sleep without watching over you. 

“Kate has been handling your company’s affairs, too. 

“When you first went missing, Kate searched tirelessly for over ten hours until she found you and finally took a break… 

Hendrick rattled off a string of information so quickly that Kate didn’t have time to interrupt him. She could only glare at him, exasperated. “Hendrick, stop exaggerating.” 

Hendrick lightly tapped Kate on the head, looking a bit annoyed. “What exaggeration? I’m telling 

the truth!” 

Kate lowered her eyes, feeling a bit embarrassed. She didn’t want Eric to know all this, but Hendrick had blurted it all out. 

Eric looked moved. He gazed at Kate, his heart filled with a warm emotion, and a small smile tugged at his lips. He said softly, “Thank you for everything, Kate.” 

Kate shook her head. “It wasn’t hard. Ric, are you hungry? Let me feed you something. Hendrick brought porridge…” 

She started to unpack the food box, carefully scooping a spoonful of porridge. After blowing on it to cool it down, she brought it to Eric’s lips.

She had been genuinely afraid that Eric might suffer long–term effects from this incident, or worse, that he might never wake up. 

Since her rebirth, many things had changed. 

Even small events had caused significant ripple effects, and that scared her. 

Eric gazed steadily at Kate. The worry in her eyes seemed genuine. Besides, he remembered hearing her calling his name and talking to him while he was unconscious. 

His Kate… it seemed like her heart and eyes were only for him. 

The most important thing was that when he opened his eyes, the first thing he saw was his Kate, sitting safely by his bedside, her clear eyes reflecting only his image.
