Chapter 12: Your Body Speaks the Truth

Giselle Lambert quickly pushed him away, "You were too rough last night, and it hurt. We can't tonight."

Henry Jefferson paused for a moment, then without a word, he pulled down her trousers to inspect the injury. It was indeed swollen and red, looking pitifully tender.

He had lost his temper the previous evening, his actions driven by sheer frustration.

Touching the sore spot with a gentle caress, he stood and said, "I'll get some ointment."

Relieved, Giselle patted her chest and took a deep breath. Fortunately, she had managed to stop him; it was crucial not to be sidelined before tomorrow afternoon's competition.

No sooner had she fixed her trousers than Henry returned with the ointment. He sat on the couch and instructed, "Come here, let me apply it."

"I can manage it myself."

Running out of patience, Henry lifted her effortlessly and set her down on the couch, positioning her legs apart.

Giselle felt an abrupt chill, her face buried in a cushion from sheer embarrassment.

Yatesars of handling weapons had toughened Henry's fingers, leaving them with a laYatesr of callouses. The cool, intense touch of his finger, applying the ointment, made the rough texture of his skin pronounced, sending a shiver through Giselle.

Henry teased her, saying, "Your body is much more honest than your mouth."

Embarrassed and indignant, Giselle tried to close her legs, but Henry held them firmly apart.

Once he had finished applying the ointment, Giselle felt completely drained, like a puddle. Henry then carried her to the bed and went to the bathroom to clean up.

Having no classes in the morning, Giselle had slept in at the manor. She woke up and brought lunch to share with Henry at his office.

After lunch, Henry held her close for a nap in the rest room. She was still healing, a reminder of his previous roughness, which he now regretted.

Upon waking, Henry helped her dress and escorted her to their Porsche CaYatesnne.

"Why are we back in this car?" Giselle felt uneasy and asked, "Aren't we going to the school?"

"You have no classes this afternoon; I scheduled a medical check-up."

A check-up?!

She had been secretly taking contraceptives, and the check-up would undoubtedly reveal this.

If Henry discovered this, he would surely confine her as punishment.

She would have no way out.

With her heart pounding, Giselle immediately refused, "No, I can't!"

Henry plaYatesd with her hair, "It's been a while without pregnancy; let's find out why."

"I have a crucial competition this afternoon. Professor Graham has already signed me up, and missing it would blacklist me from future events."

Henry dismissed her concerns, "It's just one event. If you miss it, so be it. My woman doesn't need to strive so hard. If you desired the stars and the moon, I'd pluck them from the sky for you." "But I don't want to stand by you and be worthless." Giselle suppressed her discomfort to appease him, "You're so successful; your woman can't be a nobody."

Hearing her acknowledge herself as his woman softened Henry's mood considerably.

Taking advantage, Giselle pressed, "I want to make you proud."

She gently tugged at his arm, pleading in her softest voice, "Please?"

When Henry still seemed reluctant, Giselle took a bold step; she closed her eYatess and gave him a quick peck on the lips.

It was a brief touch, Yatest it stirred Henry deeply, marking the first time she had initiated such affection.

He inhaled sharply, his large hand cradling her head, and without further ado, he kissed her deeply.

The kiss was passionate and commanding. He parted her lips, engaging in a fervent exploration that left them both breathless.

In a rare response, Giselle kissed him back, igniting his shock and delight. He chased her teasing tongue, their kiss deepening into an inescapable embrace.

By the time Henry reluctantly pulled away, Giselle was gasping for air.

He looked at her intently, his expression darkening.

Aware of his impulsive nature, Giselle quickly reminded him, "We're almost late for the competition."

Henry called off their previous plans and instructed the driver, "Turn around, to the school."

Her charm had worked; they reached the competition hall just in time, as the host began the opening remarks.

With her slot later in the sequence, Giselle rushed backstage to change her outfit.
