Endless Adoration

Chapter 49 Fried Noodles With Green Onion

"Oh~ honey! Is it really you?" Hathaway exclaimed in surprise and hugged Sherri Len as soon as she opened the door. "God, I didn't expect to meet you again. You are here to visit the alma mater, aren't you?" "Yes, Mrs. Hathaway. How are you doing recently?" Sherri also expressed her surprise for meeting professor Hathaway in French.

Noticing the tall and handsome man beside Sherri, Hathaway knew what was going on. While feeling sorry for her student, Mark Ning, she was also happy for Sherri to have found a suitable partner.

The two of them chatted for a while. Professor Hathaway mentioned Mark, "honey, have you seen Mark this time when you come back?"

Thinking of the good-looking young man who she used to despise, Sherri answered, "not yet. I came here in a hurry this time. am also on a business trip."

"Oh! Well, I will mention you to him!"

The two of them chatted for a while. Seeing that Elliot Mo was bored by the side, Sherri quickly said goodbye and took him out.

In the evening, the autumn wind messed up the leaves of Platanus trees on the ground. Looking at the white clouds flowing in the sky slowly, Sherri said, "Elliot, you know what? At that time, I lived in a small apartment not far from the school. The apartment was downstairs with Indian people, at the top of which was European, and all the people in the middle floor were Chinese."

"I want to see that apartment."

"Okay, I'll take you there. Don't know who lives there now." Sherri also wanted to go to the place where she used to live. It was not easy for her to come back, so she couldn't miss it.

She didn't know since when Sherri began to hold Elliot's hand. Looking at the small soft hand holding his slender and thick hand, he felt a little relieved. The little woman in front of him only just reached his shoulder.

After a few blocks, they stopped in front of a classical European style apartment, where they could see the bell tower of Paris business school. "This is where I used to live. It seems that new people have moved in." Looking at the apartment, Sherri sighed deeply in her heart. She didn't know whether she was talking to herself or to Elliot. Her eyes had never left the apartment. "At that time, I liked cooking in the apartment the most. Every time I cooked, I had to wrap the smoke sensor with golden paper. I was afraid that the fire engines would come when cooking! I lived alone. When I was cooking, those foreigners, English and French would squeeze into my room to taste the dishes I cooked. " Usually, Sherri wouldn't talk so much. But today, she couldn't help but recall a lot.

"Then the food cooked by my lady must be very delicious."

"Well, I'll cook it for you next time."

"Tonight."

"What?" Turning to look at Elliot, with a serious look on Sherri's face, she asked, "tonight?" Yet, she had nothing prepared.

"Yes, cook it in the manor tonight. I want to have a taste of Mrs. Mo's cooking." Elliot had always made a decision decisively without hesitation. It was better to meet the day than to pick a day. He also missed the food that Sherri had cooked for him.

"Okay." Sherri couldn't refuse the man in front of her who was always giving out his charm, not to mention just making dinner, not going up the mountain and down the sea of fire.

"It's late now. Let's go to the Asian supermarket to buy some food." Elliot said unhurriedly, but Sherri felt as if she had fallen into someone's conspiracy.

When they arrived at the Asian supermarket, they could see a variety of goods. Although the dishes and seasonings displayed were not as many as there are in China, but they were enough for a housewife like Sherri. "Elliot, what would you like for dinner?"

With Elliot's slender fingers under his chin, he began to think, which was very elegant and charming in the eyes of Sherri. After thinking for a while, he slowly spit out a few words, "green onion and noodles." "Green onion and noodles?" Sherri even doubted that she had misheard. She thought that Elliot would tell her several classic Chinese dishes, such as pineapple with sweet and sour meat, stir fried bean and kung pao chicken, etc., but she didn't expect that it was just the most common fried noodles with green onion.

"Yes, it's fried with green onion and noodles." Elliot nodded.

"Just this? Anything else?" Sherri asked again.

"No, that's it."

"All right." Although she had a lot of doubts, but she still obediently chose the food materials.

Looking at the puzzled look on Sherri's face, Elliot couldn't help but feel funny. Of course he had a reason to choose green onion and noodles. When he was in France, he had a car accident which was planned beforehand by his father's business opponent. Therefore, he was hospitalized. He thought that he will recover eventually in the hospital. But he did not expect that these gangsters could be so cruel to have nearly killed him for money. Even though he was seriously injured and hospitalized, but he would not let them go.

On a dark and windy night, they

pretended to be his father and wrote a letter to him to led him out of the ward. They made an appointment with him at an alley in the backyard of the in-patient department, trying to give him a fatal blow. It was really dangerous that time. Not long after the car accident, half of Elliot's face was wrapped in gauze, and his right leg was in plaster. He was weak. Fortunately, he was vigilant and confidential enough, and he began to turn back before he reached the entrance of the alley. As soon as the gangsters saw him, they quickly went forward. He was not in good health, and so ran difficultly. No one knew which block he had run to, and finally, he fell to the ground out of strength. At the last moment of his fall, the black ghost had already prepared for the worst. The gangsters would soon chase after him and kill him. In the end, he would die miserably on the streets of another country. The black ghost had never been so desperate before. Perhaps it was fate.

But when he woke up, Elliot seemed to smell a burst of rice fragrance. As an atheist, he didn't believe in God, nor Buddha, but himself. He struggled to open his eyes, and the scene in front of him blurred into his eyes. If it wasn't a ward, whose room was it? And from the layout, it seemed to be a woman's room. It seemed to be in the evening. The setting sun shone in through the window. The lights in the room were not turned on, but were hazy with warm yellow soft light.

"Are you awake?" A slim woman came over with a bowl of noodles in fluent French. At the first sight of her, the first word that popped up in Elliot's mind was "exceedingly beautiful". Even in such a dim room, he was still shocked by the beauty of this woman. He had seen many beautiful women, but he didn't care about their appearance. The woman in front of him was enchanting, and every move of her was elegant and refined, which was unforgettable. Later, she became Sherri.

"I saw you fall on the street after class yesterday. You seem to be seriously injured. I didn't dare to send you to the hospital without my permission. How are you feeling now?" Looking at the Asian face of this strange man, Sherri couldn't tell if he was Japanese or Korean or Chinese like her. She didn't know if he could understand French so she spoke as slowly as possible. She didn't want to get into trouble, but as an Asian, she couldn't bear to ignore him when she saw him lying on the street. Strangely enough, when she took the man back to the apartment last night, he was so weak. When he woke up today, he actually felt the coldness from the man. The man's eyes were deep and full of vigilance. "It seems that you have recovered well. I'm a Chinese! Where are you from?"

Elliot didn't say anything, nor did he show any emotion.

As if he didn't understand French, Sherri put the noodles on the small table beside the bed and changed into speaking English, "you've been in a coma for a day. Are you hungry? Have a bowl of noodles I made myself. Tell your family to pick you up here." She was afraid that he couldn't understand her, so she made a gesture of eating again.

This was the first time that Elliot had seen Sherri. He hesitated for a while when he saw the brightly colored bowl of noodles. Then he picked up his chopsticks and tasted it. The noodles tasted good, and he felt that the delicacies he had before were not as good as this small bowl of noodles.

So when he was so close to Sherri for the second time in France, the first thing he wanted to try was fried noodle with green onion, which he missed so much. After such a long time, he didn't have any feelings for Sherri at that time. She was just a passer-by in his life. It was normal that he didn't remember her. Moreover, he was too cold and alienated at that time, so he might not have left a deep impression on her. He didn't know if this bowl of noodles with green onion and oil could remind Sherri of the boy who was saved by her and didn't like to talk.

The fried noodle with green onion was a famous Shanghai dish. The ingredients were very simple. One dish of fine scallion and one bowl of noodles, more than ten milliliters of raw smoke, a few spoons of brown sugar and peanuts oil. It seemed that it was easy to learn, but the simplest thing to make a unique taste was very rare. The key to the taste was the frying of the green onion, with the correct heat and

time.

They went back to the manor after shopping. Aesthetic and cozy were the most suitable words to describe the manor of Elliot. Before setting out, Sherri had always thought that the manor bought by a business elite like Elliot abroad would be luxurious and extravagant. A typical European style wind building might contain precious treasures from all over the world, but the manor of Elliot was not like that at all. Instead, it was filled with the unique artistic charm of France. The most beautiful place of the manor was its courtyard, surrounded by golden tulips. In the center of the manor was an exquisite sculpture fountain, with roses and mountain tigers growing in the corners. Unfortunately, it was late autumn when they came here. If spring came, the scene would have been different. The villa in the manor was full of unique design, and the furniture inside was very simple. It seemed that Elliot did not often live

in the manor in France.

Fortunately, there were not many cooking tools needed for the green onion and oil noodles. Otherwise, this little kitchen really could not withstand her disturbance. Soon, she finished making dinner. In addition

to the green onion and noodles ordered by Elliot, she specially made a bowl of yam and sparerib soup.

"All done!" After putting all the fried noodles and yam spareribs soup on the table, Sherri took off her apron and said, "have a taste."☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐
