End Game (New York Stars Book 1)

Chapter End Game: 1ST PERIOD – Text Chat (5)

Dad: What you thinking?! Putting yourself in danger like that!

Gracie: I thought you’d be proud, Dad.

Gracie: I took him down.

Kow: Mowed him down more like lol

Mom: Don’t encourage her.

Gracie: I’m not a vigilante.

Gracie: It’s not as if I’m going to go around looking for trouble!

Gracie: It was a one-off.

Kow: That we had to hear about on the news…

Liam: Shut up, Kow. Leave her alone.

Kow: Where’d the fun be in that, Leprechaun?

Kow: Maybe it’s a good thing you’re going to be in New York from now on. You can keep an eye on our sis. Keep her safe. She’s clearly incapable of staying out of danger.

Liam: You’re one to talk.

Kow: I’m being serious. You gotta take care of her.

Trent: Still can’t believe you’re going to be playing for the Stars!

Noah: You were the Mounties’ franchise player. They should have made sure they kept you this season.

Liam: Well, they didn’t.

Dad: Stars made good offer. Liam boy smart. Think with brains not balls.

Liam: Um, thanks, Fryd lol. I try.

Mom: They’d BETTER have made you a good offer. You won the Stanley Cup last season!

Liam: I don’t think now’s the time to talk about this.

Liam: Gracie did a good thing.

Noah: And got exploited by her boss on live TV. Great going, Gracie.

Gracie: You’re an asshole. A massive asshole.

Noah: It takes effort.

Trent: Not much.

Gracie: Thanks, Trent.

Trent: I’m not on your side. I think it was crazy of you. I saw the footage. He was double your size.

Gracie: Oh, and I should have just let that kid die?

Mom: You should have called the cops.

Gracie: Before or after the Mack truck killed that innocent little boy? People were too busy filming what was happening to get involved. That kid is alive because of me.

Gracie: Screw this. I have stuff to do. TTYL

Mom: She’s always got such an attitude.

Mom: Liam, maybe you can fix her up with someone. She needs to settle down. By the time I was her age, I’d had four children.

Liam: That’s not my place, Hanna.

Liam: Anyway, I doubt she’d want to date a hockey player. They’re pretty much the only guys I know.

Kow: As if a hockey player would date her.

Dad: Son! That mean.

Kow: What? It’s true. She’s a bulldog.

Mom: I think that might be why she’s still single, Fryd. Even you can’t deny your golden girl has always been prickly.

Liam: I GTG. But you should know that Gracie was being Gracie and deserves to be treated better by so-called friends.

Mom: I’ll call you later, Liam. I want to know where you’re living.

Liam: 🙂 Okay, Hanna. Talk to you soon.

Liam: And you, asshole, @Kow. You should apologize to your sister.

Kow: *snorts* Like that’s gonna happen.
