Encore of the Avenging Muse (Sylvia and Rupert)

Chapter 186

Sylvia was caught off guard by Rupert's advance.

But the more she tried to wiggle free, the more it seemed to fuel his desire.

In the end, her dress slid from her shoulders. Panic surged through her, and she tried to cover herself, only for Rupert to capture her wrists and pin them above her head with one hand.

With his other hand, he tilted her chin, his lips meeting hers in a kiss that was firm yet deliberate, igniting an undeniable tingling sensation.

A soft moan escaped her lips. She bit down in a futile effort to stifle it, only for the sound to seem to push him further.

His teeth grazed her lip, stealing her breath as he deepened the kiss.

Through the fabric of his suit, he could feel the warmth of her skin, a barrier he found maddeningly insufficient.

Sylvia found it hard to breathe, physically overpowered without question.

Rupert, seeing her frown, snapped back to some semblance of reason.

"Will you let any other man come close to you?" he asked.

Sylvia glared back, her silence a pointed defiance.

"It seems I wasn't clear enough," Rupert murmured, leaning down.

"No. Happy now!" Sylvia retorted through gritted teeth, her eyes blazing with resolve. Unbeknownst to her, that fiery defiance only stoked his desire to conquer her further. Rupert's gaze hardened, and he kissed her again.

Outside the door, footsteps halted, followed by a hushed conversation.

"What's that sound?" It was Eloise's husband.

"Stop teasing, honey. Go to room 6 later, okay? Your heart can only have room for me."

"Then how about a little sweetener?"

"Alright."

The couple playfully made their way to the room across from '6'.

That voice... It had to be Christine!

Earlier, while changing in the break room, Sylvia had wondered how Freya knew Eloise's husband.

Then, a message from Naomi about the jewelry exhibition reminded her of a photo Christine had prominently displayed on her desk.

Christine had mentioned that the

exhibition had changed her fate. The

photo was odd, with Christine barely visible at the edge, seemingly positioned to highlight the jewels behind her. But on closer inspection, Sylvia noticed a man's figure in the background - Eloise's husband.

Considering Freya's unusual behavior, the connection wasn't hard to make.

Christine, needing to keep her identity secret, had to find an ally.

Freya wouldn't trust just anyone, so it had to be someone from within the company.

When Christine cornered Sylvia earlier, her silence was meant to wait for Eloise's husband to appear. If he was involved, today's scheme was about more than just getting rid of Sylvia.

They likely intended to use her as a scapegoat, allowing Christine to safely infiltrate Eloise's circle.

With Eloise and her husband in the midst of a divorce and their studio being their most lucrative asset, Christine's motives became clear.

Lost in thought, Sylvia winced as Rupert bit down harder on her collarbone, his nose brushing her neck. "Not focusing."

Sylvia gasped, shifting slightly, her eyes watering.

Rupert, feeling the tension in his body at the sight of her tear-filled eyes, kissed her before she could speak.

In the midst of the chaos, she managed to say, "They'll... definitely come... to catch us... let me go..."

"Beg me," Rupert pressed, immovable.

Sylvia could feel his body tensing even more.

Turning her face away, she barely whispered, "Please."

He raised an eyebrow, his voice a low growl. "That's not right. Say it again."
