Chapter The Stone Breaks
The sun rays broke through the clouds and a beautiful dawn came into view. The waters of Brimble society gushed gently displacing the lotuses hither and thither. Near the shore of Brimble Society sat Marco, pondering on the worldly matters. He wanted to live this peaceful moment since long; no disturbances, no noises, just silence and him. Far north ahead of him, Zimon was witnessing the dawn from the Castle’s rooftop. After a while, he went down towards his bedroom. He passed a room where he stored all the treasure that he bought the other day and sealed its door with a spell. Zimon just reached his bedroom when he heard a soft click. He stopped and turned sideways to see where the sound came from. Everything seemed fine when he something clicked in his mind, “Wait a moment!”, he said aloud.
He dropped his hand into his robe’s large pocket and took out some broken pieces of the twin stone. “It’s just ten days! Marlin’s managed to reach Engeria and Gobbut so quickly!”, Zimon remarked, then rapidly strode towards the Great Hall.
The king alerted the whole city in no time. Simon was the most tensed person in this situation. He was making haste to segregate his men on such a short notice. Marco and Marvelo helped to ensure all the two thousand men were present on field. Zimon arrived in the field on a horse guarded by two knights. The commanders ran up to him to fetch the heavy bags that Zimon carried.
“From the treasures!”, Zimon said as he handed one bag to Marco, “Open it.”
Marco opened the bag and Zimon pulled out a thin bottle filled with the water from the pond of magical water. “Marco, take this and pour it in the water reservoir of the army.”
Marco followed the instructions then allowed the soldiers to fill their bottles.
“Simon, you ready?”, Zimon asked.
Simon was sweating heavily, “Almost, my lord.”
“Good, the other bag contains eatables. Eat very less occasionally. One morcel for each should suffice for the day and it gives an astonishing strength too.
“You need not require any special weapons as your only work is to divert the minds of Elezabor’s army while we engage them head on. This will create confusion amongst themselves.”, Zimon continued, “Marlin knows of the plan but just brief it again when you meet him at the outskirts of Irasy. So, guide your men till Irasy and then the responsibility is of Marlin’s.”
“Got it, my lord.”, Simon replied quickly. He ran back to his men and ordered to check the condition of all horses. “We need to make a move by this noon. No delays shall be entertained, understood?”, he said to his subordinates.
As the sun rose high, the army assembled and waited for the final call.
“You’ll be fine Simon.”, Marco hugged Simon.
“Yeah Sire, I’ll see you on the other side of the battle field.”, Simon beamed.
That very moment Marvelo came running down to both of them. Panting like a lion, he said, “The king says that we will depart in a week’s time. Just so you know.”
“Great news.”, Simon said as he shook Marvelo’s hand and jumped up his horse and faced two thousand brave men.
Simon roared at the top of his voice, “Let’s pay the tribute to Legendia and vow to demolish the evil from this world.” The army erupted and bellowed ‘Legendia’ on top of their voices.
“Rise, men of Legendia!”, Simon roared with a sword in one hand, “Rise! We do not fear to lay down our lives for the victory of our land. So let us rise and start this journey with one motive – VICTORY!!!”
The field erupted in cheers as they clashed their swords against their armours. Zimon nodded and Simon ordered them to make a move. Weapons and Armours buckled up against the warrior suits, the soldiers moved in a synchronized march out of the great Gateway of Legendia.
