Emma: The Forgotten Luna

Chapter 45

Like a raging bull, Damien marched towards the couple with heavy steps. Anger danced in his eyes and his hands itched to squeeze the life out of the fucker who dare to kiss her Princess, her Emmaline, her mate, and that too right in front of his eyes.

But the situation worsened when he heard Emmaline talking to Reina that she would indeed replace him. Damien was furious but he was hurt too. Deep down he had a slight hope that maybe she was just upset with him. But he never knew that she hated him to this extent. And just like his hopes and the tiny shreds of sanity also were ripped off turning on his beast mode.

Peeling Matteo off Emmaline as if he was a bug bothering his flower, Damien threw him on the hard concrete with such an impact that the sound of breaking bones echoed in the arena. Matteo felt his back on fire, it was clear that his spine was broken. But Damien didn’t stop there. Hovering over him, he grabbed his neck and unleashed his demons that were craving his blood. Punch, kick, slaps, everything came into play as he started strangling him to death.

Struggling to defend, Matteo swung his fist at Damien but he caught it in mid-air. Matteo was beyond terrified, he tried to pull his hand out of his grasp but a loud grunt left his mouth when Damien clasped his wrist and twisted his arm breaking it in the process.

Emmaline was aghast but her senses clicked in when Matteo’s painful groans rang in her ears.

“NO!! STOP IT MONSTER!!” Screaming, she dashed to stop the demonic wolf but was held back by a firm grip on her waist. She quickly looked behind her only to confront Ryan. She immediately recognized him.

“Let me go, URGG!!” She thrashed in his hold but he simply held her in place, his eyes trained on the Alpha who was beating the man to a pulp. Emmaline was astounded at Ryan’s strength. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t free herself.

‘Reina. Reina, help me please.’ Defeated, she tried to seek the help of her wolf. Sᴇaʀ*ᴄh the FɪndNovᴇl.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

Emmaline didn’t care about the people who were watching the drama. She even was willing to transform because right now her main concern was to save Matteo anyhow or he would end up getting killed.

Her heart was hammering in her mouth. Damien was blinded in rage. She had never seen him this angry ever.

Emmaline shrieked when Damien shoved his long boots on Matteo’s chest and started kicking him there nonstop. Matteo started coughing blood. His body was bathed in blood and his breath started coming in small pants. He was fading in and out of consciousness.

Seeing the inhumane view, Emmaline couldn’t help but burst into tears. She understood that Damien would really kill him. She again underestimated him and risked an innocent’s life.

Her shoulders slouched in defeat. There was really no escape from him.

“D-Damien, please leave him. He’ll die. I beg you... please.” She started crying hysterically and ended up begging him to spare his life but her tears this time didn’t work on Damien.

The man was like a killing machine. He was expressing his madness in the form of violence because he didn’t utter a single word except for his deep, thundering growls and heavy breaths. By now the entire colony gathered to watch the fight but not a single person dared to intervene. They were horrified, shocked, and frightened to the bone watching the most powerful man in New York beating a boy in the most barbaric way.

Emmaline frantically searched for something to help as her wolf also left her side when she needed her the most. Reina’s ignorance was painful yet confusing.

Emmaline knew that Reina was unhappy with her decision of choosing Matteo over Damien but it wasn’t new for them to fight. They had serious fights in the past where Reina compelled Emmaline to kneel. In fact, she had many times forced Emmaline to repeal her decisions which didn’t involve her consent. But she would forget all their ill-wills and would be at service once Emmaline would remember her. Then what changed now? Why was she prolonging this fight?

Or was there some motive behind her silence?

“I won’t marry him, Damien, if that’s what you want. For God’s sake, leave him,” Emmaline screeched and tried to reach him. Her painful screams earned her some sympathy and sorrowful looks but she only wanted to convince the man who unfortunately was her mate.

Ryan on the other hand was struggling hard to not let her words affect him. He was already guilt-ridden and her painful screams were pushing him to stop this madness.

Emmaline gasped when Matteo stopped screaming. Drenched in sweat, Damien picked up his battered form by his collar with his right hand as if he was a sack. He then turned around and looked at Emmaline who flinched in response.

His red hues were on full display as he did not attempt to cover them. She knew that it was his wolf who was glowering at her but what made her skin crawl was his spartan expression. Emmaline felt a cold shiver running down her spine when her teary eyes met with his frigid gray spheres. They looked relentless, soulless, and filled with morbid obsession.

Emmaline visibly flinched when he took threatening steps in her direction while dragging her injured friend. Her terrified gaze dropped to the stream of blood that was trickling down from Matteo’s bloodied body. The appalling sight made her sick to her stomach.

“OFFICER!!!” Damien suddenly blared breaking her trance. Her wide teary eyes fell on the cops who rushed in and circled them.

Damien saw the spark in her eyes as she smiled with teary eyes at the men in blue. She opened her mouth to scream for help but froze midway when Damien threw a wounded Matteo on their feet, startling her in the process.

“Take him away,” he sneered, his eyes set on her the whole time. Emmaline threw him a muddled look. What the hell was happening?

The cops quickly grabbed Matteo by his shoulders and shoved him into their car. They were treating him as if he was some wild animal. Emmaline wanted to retaliate but again got interrupted by an officer who started apologizing to Damien.

“Forgive us, Mr. Knight, for being so negligent but I assure you that we’ll put the entire Stefanini family behind the bars for abducting your girlfriend. Her safety is our priority.”

Emmaline looked at him with askance.

‘Girlfriend? Kidnapped?’

Her head instantly got whipped towards Damien but her heart sank when he flashed her his signature smirk.

“Her safety is my priority and my responsibility, Officer Smith not yours. That’s why I took the bridle in my hands and decided to teach that fucker a lesson.” He sneered lowly and then darted his eyes toward Smith.

“I am taking Em home. Make sure to keep that fucker and his family away from her. Do whatever you want to do but their shadow also should not reach my love. I wouldn’t be this lenient next time.” He sneered with an undertone of anger. Emmaline smelled the threat hidden in his voice. It was clearly directed at her, not Smith.

Smith also shuddered at his icy tone but nonetheless nodded and resumed his cajolery. But Emmaline didn’t give a damn about his meaningless apologies. All she could see was red as she finally understood his wicked scheme.

Damien maneuvered the situation in his favor by making Matteo the villain and himself a hero. Blaming the family who gave her shelter and portraying him as her Dark Knight who came to her rescue.

After dealing with the cops, Damien trained his attention back on his prey. Emmaline was disgusted, she couldn’t believe he was this vile but her fear returned when he began prowling toward her. Unbeknownst to her, she recoiled, pressing herself to Ryan. Her actions left one horrified and the other aggravated.

Ryan’s eyes turned to the size of saucers as he heard his menacing growl. His gaze fell on the pair of boots coated with blood that stopped at a good distance. He quickly acted and released Emmaline. Ryan stepped back and looked away as he could feel the heated gaze of his Alpha scrutinizing his actions.

“Come here, Princess” Damien spoke in his deep voice as he extended his left hand for Emmaline. Emmaline stared at his palm but her eyes on their volition got stuck on the blood smeared over them. That sight itself retched her.

Damien clenched his jaw when Emmaline didn’t move a muscle. In one swift move, he pounced on her and grabbed her forearm in a vice grip.

Emmaline started clawing his hands. “L-let go,” she wailed as the girl was terrified out of her wits. But her resistance was only fuelling up his anger.

She shrieked when Damien grabbed her face in his right palm and jerked her head up making her look at him.

“Come with me quietly if you don’t want any bloodshed. You have already fucked with me enough, now just obey and do as I fucking say, Princess”

He seethed on his face as his eyes soared over her trembling form. Emmaline looked into his grey irises that were no less than metallic shards. They had caged her since the day she met him and by now she had also understood that defying him was puerile.

Emmaline closed her eyes and freed the tears that were the sole witness of her misery. Pleased at her submission, Damien crouched down and put his hands under her knees before lifting her. She neither hold him nor did he care.

Turning around, Damien glared at the crowd who quickly stepped back and looked down.

“Ryan”

Hearing his growl, Ryan quickly jumped into action and lead his way.

Damien then started walking towards his car while carrying Emmaline in bridal style. He peered down at her only to find her eyes cast down. She was still as death in his hold. Her broken expression was enough for him to understand that she finally dropped her weapons.
