“FUCKING HELL!!!”
Damien roared while flipping the table with his right hand making it crash on the wall.
Zion who was standing near the door shuddered in fright watching his friend’s violent outburst. He was cognizant of Damien’s anger issues but he had never thought that the man who always thinks of girls as tissues would go berserk over a teen’s rejection.
“HERE, I AM WAITING FOR HER PATIENTLY, BEARING HER TANTRUMS ONLY OUT OF RESPECT AS I DON’T WANT HER HATING ME AND SHE IS STILL ADAMANT ON HER FUCKING PLEDGE!!” Shouting, Damien pulled his hair in frustration and this time threw his chair on the window pane. The glass shattered making a loud noise which was enough to alert the staff of the company that their Boss had lost his mind.
Emmaline despite his pleadings turned down his proposal. Damien was furious but at the same time, he felt utterly helpless. He didn’t want to take a step that would push her away from him.
“It wouldn’t have taken me a minute to drag her here and made her submit to me forcibly. You know that Zion but this girl, she’s just making me GO NUTS!! AHH!!!” Damien again roared and punched the wall, unleashing his wrath.
“STOP IT DAMIEN!!!” Zion immediately caught Damien’s fist in mid-air as he continued banging it against the wall like a maniac.
“Don’t forget where the hell you are right now. If by any chance, you lose control and someone catches you, we’ll be doomed.” He lambasted him and shoved his fist harshly.
“THEN WHAT SHOULD I DO??” Damien raged and finally looked at him.
“Tell me what should I do, Zion. I did everything to win her but she isn’t letting me go near her then how am I gonna break the fetters of her heart and gain a spot there? She hates my voice, my presence revolts her when I only try to save her. I agree I did wrong but I am not that patient either. Why just she can’t give me chance?” Damien spoke and lowered his gaze defeatedly. His voice held despair as if he had lost all his hopes to win her.
Zion looked at his slouched shoulders. The rage in his eyes git replaced with concern The Alpha who was invincible today surrendered in front of a girl.
Placing a hand on his shoulder, he tried comforting him, “I can understand Bro but you just can’t ruin everything only because of a girl. What about your pack, what about us? You can’t just abscond and leave your duties.”
Zion couldn’t bear his Alpha vulnerable that too for a girl. The hopelessness in his eyes made him try a hand at his plan.
But then a chill ran down his spine. That would be equal to provoking Damien which definitely didn’t sound like a good idea especially when he was emotionally disturbed.
Zion contemplated for a while but eventually decided to give it a go. Taking a deep breath, he finally spoke, “S-See Damien you wouldn’t get her love this way so why not execute our plan? You know Alpha Xander had-”
He began hesitantly but was rebuffed by Damien who immediately grabbed his collars.
“Don’t.you.dare.complete.it” He sneered at his face. Zion was dumbfounded but the murderous look in his eyes disappeared all his bravura to naught.
“You don’t have a say in my matters, got it? Be within your limits.” Damien gritted and left him with a jerk.
That’s when his anger kicked in.
Zion couldn’t let ignore his scathing remarks. Narrowing his eyes into thin slits, he huffed, “Why not?”
He said and crossed his arms over his chest, “You’re forgetting Damien that the girl with whom you’re in love is our enemy. The person whose head has been demanded by your father. You don’t want to force her and you can’t earn her love so why not just stick to our plan and execute it instead of wasting time?”
Damien kept quiet as this time as Zion this time confronted him as his Beta, not his friend. And to be honest, he was simply stating the facts which he couldn’t ignore too.
Damien knew he was distracted, lost by the charms of the girl whom he had to cull. But no one has a say in the matter of love. You can’t just turn your back on your feelings in a day.
A long sigh escaped his lips. Raking his fingers through his damp, tousled hair, Damien closed his eyes but his jaw was still clenched.
Zion noticed the troubled expression on his face. He knew him inside out. Damien was also fighting internally; he didn’t want to leave Emma nor he wanted to abrogate his responsibility.
Sighing, he grabbed his shoulders and spoke earnestly, “Listen, Damien, you need to make a call. It’s high time now. I know you would hate me for this but if Emmaline isn’t coming to you willingly then make her.”
Damien immediately jerked his head up, stunned by his absurd advice, “HAVE YOU GONE MAD? SHE’LL HATE ME MORE.” He grated out.
Zion scoffed, “As if she’s head over heels for you now.” He said and again let out a chuckle making Damien look away in annoyance.
“Come on man. She is playing hard. And for how long are you going to wait for her heart to melt? She’s different Damien, she won’t come to you even if you load her with jewels or slit your throat in front of her. Rather I would say, she is a girl who will suck the soul out of you and wouldn’t even spare a glance at your corpse.”
“FUCKING SHUT UP, OKAY!!!”
Damien hollered and grabbed his throat. Slamming her on the wall, he started choking him. Zion broke into cold sweats when his eyes met with his smoldering grey ones, he looked no less than a predator. But he continued riling him up. After all, that was the only option to get his plan into action.
“Keep lying to yourself Damien but that’s the truth. That girl doesn’t give two flying fucks about you. You told her that you’re her mate, right? Did you even see a change in her heart? No, right. She doesn’t care about you but you know what, you’re only responsible for this. It’s because you were too lenient with her. She isn’t scared of you. Your apology gave her strength to walk over you ’cause she knows no matter what happens, you wouldn’t cross your limits. And you’re proving it in front of making her submit to you. You’re fucking delusional if you still believe for a day that she would fall for you.” He finally spoke his mind and pulled the last straw of his patience.
Letting out a growl, Damien punched the wall beside his head. Zion didn’t even flinch.
Slamming his fist, one last time Damien moved back. His breath turned labored as he looked here and there, looking for a way that would help him simmer down.
Zion smirked and leaned his back on the wall. A victorious smile spread on his lips as he knew he had hit Damien below the belt.
“The faster you realize, the better it would end for you, Damien. If you can’t get her then just force her or end her. Don’t forget that you’re an Alpha, you’ve got duties on your shoulders, man. You can’t just let a girl rule over you. If you can’t get her, then fucking snatch her.” He spoke casually and dipped his hands in the pocket of his tailored pants.
Zion watched Damien in contentment but his expression changed when Damien suddenly started chuckling.
The air in the room abruptly turned piercing while the walls shook with dread. Cause the laughter of the burly man was empty and filled with malice.
Zion shivered when his eyes met with the vacuous steel ones that held pure rage.
“You’re trying to instigate me, right Zion?”
Damien spoke in his deep voice snatching the land beneath his feet.
Zion looked at him in shock, “N-No, w-what are you saying?”
Damien again snorted when he noticed the cold beads of sweat dripping down his forehead, “You know very well what I meant Zion. You’re stoking me so that I end up doing something which would push Emmaline away from me. You don’t like her so you’re trying to turn me against her but sorry to burst your bubble, man. I would never harm my Princess even if I have to defy my father’s word.”
Zion looked at him with wide eyes but before he could say further, Damien turned his heels and abruptly walked out of the room, slamming the door with a loud bang.
“What does he mean by defying? Is he planning to open a war for a girl?”
