Chapter 172
"You attended the lecture, too? Aren't you worried about causing a scene?" asked Joycelyn.
"Don't worry, I wore a mask. There wasn't a soul on campus when I got there, said Ellison as he reached out and held Joycelyn's slightly cold hand.
"Why are your hands so cold?" he asked.
Joycelyn sighed, debating whether she should bring up the situation with the photos. Just as she was about to speak, William, the ever-diligent assistant, turned around from the front seat and spoke up. "Mr. Grant, you've already postponed three important meeting day. Now that Mrs. Grant is done with class, should we head back to the office to deal with those urgent matters?" asked William.
William had always been obedient unless things were serious, then he had no choice but to overstep his boundaries.
Ellison didn't hesitate. He replied, "Alright, let's head back to the office"
He turned to Joycelyn, who seemed lost in thought. "What about you? Are you going home or going back to the office?"
Before she could answer, her phone started ringing non-stop. The constant notifications flooded in, her phone buzzing with
messages
She unlocked it and saw that everyone in her department was tagging her in various posts.
Lucy had also sent her a message. Joycelyn opened the company group chat first, and almost immediately, a notification popped up. The notification read, "$2,000 has been deposited into your account."
"Grandma's giving out bonuses? She's giving out money to everyone at the company," said Joycelyn with a smile. Her mood lifted.
Ellison glanced at his own phone, eyes narrowing. He replied, "Seems so. Except for me."
The irony was not lost on him. His employees, everyone in the company, had received bonuses from his grandmother. But not him, her grandson and the groom-to-be.
He didn't receive anything at all.
Joycelyn tapped away at her phone and then turned to him. She said. "I'll split mine into half and send you half. She was about to transfer $1,000 to him when he stopped her.
"No need. It doesn't sound good, Ellison rejected in a low voice.
He didn't care about this small sum of money, and the meaning was terrible.
"Splitting the money? Oh." Even Joycelyn had not thought of it that way..
Splitting half the money sounded like they would split.
It seemed that her man was quite superstitious.
"Maybe Grandma's preparing something big for you." Joycelyn said, feeling the excitement of a little extra surprise in her squall savings account. She couldn't help but smile.
Ellison's voice remained calm as he replied, "It's already good enough if she doesn't rob me."

Joycelyn shrugged playfully and said, "Don't worry. When it comes time to pick out our wedding outfit, I'll make sure to choose the most expensive ones for you."
Speaking of this. Joycelyn remembered that she was going to buy the wedding clothes and items for the wedding with his grandmother.
He replied. "No need. Actually, I already ordered it. I didn't let her pick. I don't trust her taste." Joycelyn asked, "You've already ordered them? When?"
"Today," he replied nonchalantly.
Joycelyn thought for a moment, then said, "I think Grandma would prefer to choose on her own, though. After all, you're her only grandson. She probably wants to handle everything herself."
Joycelyn had a pretty good understanding of Isolde's strong-willed nature. She was a woman who had dominated the business world for years, so she couldn't just sit back now that she was retired.
She only had one grandson, and that was Ellison. Naturally, she wanted to handle everything. Joycelyn offered, "If you don't want to go, I'll go with her."
"Don't worry, she won't be idle," Ellison said lightly.
At this moment, Joycelyn Maynard did not think too deeply about the underlying hint in his tone. That was because Lucy, her good friend, was in love again.
Lucy messaged, "Did you go to the University of Asgard today? I saw many beautiful photos of you. You're indeed my best friend. You're prettier than female celebrities!"
Joycelyn looked at the pictures and could not help but sigh. There was really no information gap on the Internet
There were plenty of photos of her floating around the internet from the lecture earlier, and she couldn't bring herself to look at the headlines "Most Beautiful Student" and "The Amazing Academic Prodigy" it was all too much.
She sent a frowning emoji, clearly feeling a little awkward about all the attention.
Lucy replied, "Don't worry! My young boyfriend said you're a hit at their school. He said you're getting so much praise from people, so don't panic!"
Joycelyn replied, "Young boyfriend?"
Joycelyn looked at Lucy's message and could not help but be in awe.
Lucy was indeed amazing. She had a knack for attracting and dating men of various ages.
Lucy replied, "Yes, a Leo and four years younger than me."
Then, Lucy sent a photo. It was a blurry shot from a bar, dim lighting, but the young man beside her best friend was striking. He looked familiar, but Joycelyn couldn't place him right away.
Looking at Joycelyn chatting with an animated expression on her face. Ellison glanced at her screen. He realized that she was looking at a handsome man!
His eyes immediately darkened. He leaned towards Joycelyn and murmured, Tm still here, you know 2/4

Chapter 172
"It's my best friend's new boyfriend. I'm just taking a look at him said Joycelyn as she zoomed in on the picture.
As expected, it was an intimate photo,
Ellison narrowed his eyes and glanced at the photo. Then, he put on a disdainful expression and said, "It's obvious this young man is a scam artist, swindling money and playing around
"Can't you hope my best friend is doing well with her new man? Joycelyn retorted. She looked again and commented, "He looks quite handsome. He's young, handsome, and has a good physique. He's quite good."
Ellison's jaw tightened, and he leaned back in the car, his Adam apple working as he swallowed.
He spoke in a mellow and pleasant tone, Lucky for you, the first guy you met was me. If you'd met some
guy like that, you'd be sold off by him and you'd still count the money for him."
Ellison reached over and ruffled her hair, looking extremely satisfied with himself.
Joycelyn turned around and ignored him. She continued chatting with Lucy.
She also sent a thank-you message to Liam in between her replies to Lucy.
Although nothing had happened, based on Ruby's agitation and fear just now, Liam must have secretly threatened her.
Joycelyn asked Liam how it was resolved. He only said that he had successfully destroyed the server. He did not say that he had given Ruby a taste of her own medicine.
Although he owed her a favor, Joycelyn felt that he had really helped her a lot in this matter.
The next time she went to a meeting, she would drag Aurelia and the others along and then invite him to come along. She would treat him to a meal.
She was afraid that there would be a misunderstanding if she invited him alone. Besides...
Joycelyn quietly looked back at Ellison beside her.
Ellison narrowed his eyes. The quiet, almost predatory way he was staring at her made her feel like a rabbit caught in the gaze of a wolf.
Joycelyn's hand trembled and her heart skipped a beat.
Did he see that she had sent a message to Liam
"Why are you looking at me like that?" she asked, sitting up straighter, trying to mask the nerves that were creeping up her spine.
Psychology says that if a person has something shameful, they subconsciously avoid eye contact," he said casually, his voice cool and calculated.
Joycelyn's heart skipped a beat, and she quickly averted her gaze
"You also studied psychology?" she asked, trying to regain her composure.
"Yes," he replied, his tone dry. "But I gave up after getting my degree."
Jaycelyn did not reply.
No wonder he always seemed to know exactly what was going on inside her head.

He asked. "What, are you scared??
Joycelyn put away her phone, hugged her bag, and sat up straigh
Ellison picked up her small hand and turned the ring on her ring finger around. He said, "I'll buy a few
more for you so that you have rings on all your fingers."
Joycelyn replied, "Just one is enough. I'm already married. No one likes married women."
From his tone, it sounded like he was serious. She did not know whether to laugh or cry as she stopped him.
"There are more blind people out there than you think," said Ellison as he held her hand and played with
it.
The possessiveness in his words and the determination to take precautions were much more than what Joycelyn could feel.
"No, I have to assign you a female bodyguard." After Ellison said that, he gave an order to William, who was driving seriously. He ordered, "Find me a suitable female bodyguard. Someone who can fight ten people at once."
Joycelyn wanted to say something to stop him, but in the end, she swallowed her words. She said with a resigned voice, "Alright, you arrange it, I have no objections"
She did not dare to have any objections.
The female bodyguard could also disguise her identity. It was better than having ten fingers full of wedding rings.
