Elements

Chapter 10

Without thinking, we got into our suits.

“Everyone get out of here now!” I shouted.

The students ran out of the doors screaming. Everyone, except Kayla. She was trapped in one of Touchless’s invisible boxes. Lava came out of Icy Volcano’s mouth, and Black Hole made a portal above it.

“Take us to Mystic Meadows, or Black Hole will open a portal under her and she’ll be burned alive,” Touchless said.

“Fine,” Carina said. “Let her bur--”

“No!” I interrupted. “She didn’t mean that. Give us a second.”

“Hurry. Time is ticking,” Black Hole taunted.

I turned to my group. “We can’t let her die, no matter how much we hate her.”

“So what do we do? Let them kill us and destroy the world? She’s going to die anyway,” Carina said. “I’ll kill her myself.

“Calm down,” Michael said. “Let’s call Willow quickly and see what she says.”

We huddled around Michael, making sure Toxic Shadow couldn’t see his watch.

Willow picked up. “We don’t have much time to talk,” Michael said. “Toxic Shadow wants is at our school and is threatening to kill someone if we don’t take them to Mystic Meadows. What do we do?”

“Bring them here. I’ll get my army prepared. Try to procrastinate as long as you can”

We hung up and turned to Toxic Shadow.

“We’ll take you to Mystic Meadows. Free the girl,” Leo said.

Kayla was freed, and she ran off, terrified. The four of us held hands.

“All of you need to get in the middle of this circle,” I instructed.

They came down to us, and Leo and I let go of each other’s hands to let them in. Like Willow said, we closed our eyes and connected to our elements. I got a weird feeling in me. It was like nothing I’ve ever felt before. I didn’t just feel like I could connect to Earth, but I sensed all four elements inside me. I was stronger than I’ve ever been. The four of us felt like one.

I opened my eyes again, to see the beautiful trees of Mystic Meadows once more. “Yes! Finally!” Touchless said. She turned to us. “Take me to the Cave of Miracles.”

We all acted confused to waste time. “The Cave of Miracles?” Michael asked. “What’s that?”

“Don’t play dumb with me. The cave with the elemental items that are the source of your powers!” Touchless said.

“Ohh that cave,” I said. “Yeah, we don’t know where that is. We’ve only been here once.”

I felt two pieces of slabs against my neck. One was in the front, while the other was in the back. Touchless raised me up a few feet off the ground by the slabs.

“Tell me where it is!” she shouted.

I could barely breathe and my vision was becoming blurry. I lifted a nearby rock and flung it at her, but I missed and it went to Black Hole. She quickly opened a portal in front of her, and the next thing I knew, the rock was coming back at me. It hit me in the face and I fell to the ground, greedily inhaling the air around me. Leo and Carina knelt down beside me. Leo placed a hand on my back.

I heard a noise in the distance that sounded like a herd of elephants were coming towards us. I looked up and saw hundreds of men, all wearing golden armor and holding golden shields and swords, heading towards us. Willow was leading them.

“You will never possess the powers of the elements,” Willow said. “Attack!”

The soldiers, who were almost as majestic looking as Willow, started running to Toxic Shadow.

The battle began.
