Eidolon Atomic

Chapter Chapter Six: Iron Phantom

Raymond now slips on the clothes he was wearing during his initial escape. As he does, the fabric of his garments turns from black to white as they soak in a specific energy surrounding Raymond’s body. This bio-signature, that Raymond emits dictates that the thread thin computer stitched into the fabric of his attire take action against the efforts of the escape he is occupied with, a proximity detector that is causing the intricate fiber optics of his clothes to color themselves in a fashion more easily seen against the dull background of the forest.

Something is very odd, however, a detail he has noticed straight away as his clothes hand from the strong muscles of his body. Reflective molecules made to stand out if bombarded by the irradiated ping of radar no longer change with the wave that passes over him. It would explain why no Helix Carrier has inspected the hole in search for him. As the lack of this bright color change would indicate that Raymond is dead.

All of Raymond’s clothes are tattered, torn to rags during his fall. Because of this; his attire offers little comfort in the way of actual clothing, but with the consideration of how cold it is becoming in the open air of the forest, Raymond knows that the prospect of abilities that each piece holds may in fact save his life in the long run. It’s true that these clothes are going to hold to their purpose as potential tracking devices, and may even lead to his capture, but the prospect of their other uses makes them too valuable to leave behind.

Raymond dawning a uniform of pain, it is shown that each tear in the strong fabric was a place where some jagged thing cut deep into Raymond’s skin as he fell. The holes, in turn, expose the injuries of Raymond’s body. Some of them closed, others still, however, show windows to the blood vessels and veins underneath, moments where Raymond’s life was brought closer to an untimely end but only by an non-threatening fraction.

Raymond’s clothes, like him; will eventually mend as is their nature. Able to feel the life in their intricate fabric design I am reminded that they were created from the integrity extracted from a genetically engineered artificial plant made to survive even when weaved into cloth. Each of the fibers is still alive, and growing and slowly pulling themselves together. If one were to watch them closely enough, you could track each string that worms itself closed as the fibers reconnect their organic microscopic circuits of plant matter. Not essentially made for combat or augmentation, they are not made from human souls, however, the process of mending is made possible by their ability to absorb energy and moisture. So slowly, they begin to close and reform into the original shape they were weaved into. However, this isn’t the most miraculous thing I can sense.

As Raymond’s slept, most of his wounds were sealed by Chava efforts to feed on them. Glued together by the enzyme she produces, each cut, laceration, and puncture have long since stopped bleeding completely and begun the quickened process of healing. (Much to my, and Raymond’s relief). It seems that the substance produced in the saliva of the gorgon known as Chava, was true to its purpose of healing injuries, and for now, it has saved the life of the man my soul is attached to.

I am grateful for this, but yet, a sinister compromise still awaits somewhere in the darkness of this layer. The Promises made are still yet to find the transition in payment, but if they are to be kept is an intrigue that may change the way I see this vision of what is a heartless man, forever, or seal it in place.

“Can you stand?” Chava says, so close to him, she smells him, breathing in his scent deeply.

I can sense how week Raymond is, as his lie becomes more than obvious.

“Yes, I think so,” Raymond says then tries to get to his feet. It is difficult to do so but he manages to stand, pain all over his body. His legs give slightly once trying to reach a proud height, and struggling to stand against, the agony reaches deep into his every thought to rest, it is too much for even him, and in the end, it brings him to the level of an old man in need of support.

Chava moves in quickly to catch Raymond as he falls. Wrapping one of her arms around the back of his abdomen and putting a hand to his chest in order to make sure he doesn’t fall into the awkward bones and sharp ends that keep intruders from reaching the place where Chava sleeps. A blunder that would undo all of her hours of care and effort.

“Don’t worry, I’ve got you,” Chava says as the moment comes to an accidental embrace. They look into each others eyes, the amazing spectrum of Chavas allure, staring deep into the windows of Raymond soul “You are very heavy you know, how is it that none of your bones are broken from that fall?” She says, even her strength straining slightly against Raymond weight, a condition that she doesn’t show, in order to seem strong and independent, but also kind.

“Wouldn’t you like to know,” Raymond replied, not wanting to reveal anything about his nature that might give her more of an advantage than she already has.

“Is your skeleton made of metal?” Chava says then adds to her own speculation. “That would be the only reason I could think of as to why you are even in one piece after what you went through. I’ve seen many things crushed and shredded to death by that fall, even some machines.”

“Is that really any of your concern? You had enough time to look me over. So any questions you were not able to answer yourself are really none of your concern.”

Chava Smirks, “I did get quite an eyeful of your anatomy, but even so, the mysteries of your composition still intrigue me. So tell me; are you, some type of machine?”

“What?” Raymond says a little aggravated by the oddly accurate insight to one of Raymond’s inner perceptions.

“The common belief of us Gorgons is that Undertakers are machines and that you are made of metal. It has been for the longest time we thought that you and your kind were all some type of machine, thoughtless, soulless and made out of wires and steel like the rogue machines that wonder the wilderness.”

“Really? Is that what you all believed? That my kind are some type of automation abomination.” Raymond states not holding back his distaste for such an accusation.

Chava is more cautious now. “Some of us do, and with good reason. You don’t smell like humans, act like humans, or think like humans, and because of your oddity, nature of your power and abilities of destruction. Some of my kinds, find your kind incredibly frightening. Roomers have circulated that some of us, have managed to kill some of you; but, you always come back. If you are not some type of machine, then are you some type of Haunting or spirit?”

“I don’t really feel comfortable answering your question,” Raymond says, his tone reaching a pitch of mistrust. Talk of the incident that Chava Speaks of don’t exactly sit well with him, each of them having been traumatizing enough.

Chava can tell she is losing ground “Oh. I’m sorry, you will have to forgive me in my quest for answers. not even I know everything.”

Raymond and Chava move towards the darkness, passing by the radioactive pond that keeps the Gorgons home eerily lit by soft radiation. They move slowly, Raymond struggling with every step as his feet drag and his vision becomes abnormal. I can feel something inside him begins to affect his mind, but it escapes my explanation. It is something strange, and not right.

They pass through a grove of the odd tree that take root at the edge of the pond, all of watched have been grown in an organized setting. As Raymond look at them, I get a sense that the growth of these plants isn’t uncommon in the part of the world, as it seems even the trees have been affected by the savage radiation that gives the planet such a nature. But; what is odd in the most, is their placing in rows that they stand on as if to seem like an orchard, in the hands of a caretaker.

Chava changes the subject, something she feels will get Raymond to talk, positive that his curiosity has been sparked as she watches Raymond. “Do you like my garden,” Chava says as she notices his eyes light up and looking around.

“No, not really.” He says, not sparing Chava’s feelings. Raymond uses his enhanced sight to look all about him, trying to make out any traps set in the background or creatures that plan to attack him. As he looks up, he notices that that he can no longer see the sky, and in that concern, my own knowledge is expanded. Raymond speaks trying to find answers as to why the sky, is missing. “I know these trees. I have seen them before, but very far away from here. These plants, their bark is razor sharp, and their fruit produces a hallucinogen that said to be specific as its fruit begins decomposing. I and my kind call them Suicide Olives, because they cause anyone to breathe in the fumes or eat the fruit, to try and climb the deadly bark of these plants, and rip themselves to shreds in the process.”

“Yes, they are a very intelligently designed carnivorous plants.” Chava adds.” One of a most entertaining and interesting natural design, they are indeed the specimens that you speak of. I have been told, they suit many more purposes than to drive the unfortunate to a painful fool’s death.” Chava says. “They make up the top of my home, and keep flying creatures from attacking from above. They also keep my home hidden to the week minded as their influence in energy is rather astounding.”

“Why would any other creatures want to attack you? I thought Gorgons had the ability to command lesser animals?”

“What gave you that idea?” Chava says inquisitively, narrowing her eyes.

“Experience.”

“Experience tells you that we are all one big happy family, is that right?” Chava says slightly annoyed.

“Experience tells me you are more organized than you appear. Especially when it comes to ganging up on the unaware.” Raymond says, his voice is stern.

Chava releases a huff of breath in aggravation, and her eyes change color as the muscles in her face flex into a look of anger. “Humankind. You and yours assume that all animals are working together, and yet even you know that with intelligence comes the ability to hate decidedly. It’s amazing how humans stumble about into a situation that you don’t understand and make fools of themselves as they, make things worse than they already were. Then they judge everything they don’t understand, to be simply that of an unwanted problem. Your ilk isn’t the only kind capable of independent thought you know.”

“Is that why Gorgons hate us, Chava? Is that why they work so hard to see humankind destroyed, because of ignorance? Or is because they remind you so much of yourselves.”

Chava is taken back for a moment. Her eyes become saddened in expression. “You are very wise Shockwave, but it is foolish for one such as you to consider yourself human. You are different, and Humankind has made their choice independent of who or what you are. They; chose to be an enemy to my kind since the very beginning of our species interactions, even before then it seems. I will admit, our conflict is menial compared to the grand scheme of things, but even so; until humans decide against their current path, then they should consider themselves enemy’s to live itself, and if this decision continues to be so, then it is my duty to kill is many of them as possible until the cease their ambitions.”

“Your duty? You speak of duty, and honor; like, a soldier in a war. I know that kind of speech, it is one that is universal to those who serve a greater purpose, but not one that is aimed at the greater good, or harmony. What is this situation that we don’t understand Chava? What is it that your species is involved in?”

“There are many things you don’t understand Shockwave. Take these trees for example. With all your people’s technology, and all your efforts to force the earth to your whim, it is only when something is able to live alongside nature that your efforts become, how you say, fruitless. I have lived so close to your home for so long without being noticed for many wavering sunrises, and all it took was planting a few odd trees in my garden.”

“I guess misconception is also bound to intelligence, as it seems a common curse among those able to perceive what they do not understand,” Raymond says, his wisdom’s shows through personality like the very essence of his soul. It is this timeless wisdom that drives him to ask his next question. “I must ask you then Chava, how did you manage to block the tracking devices that you claim to possess. When turned on, the radios you have, let the tower know exactly where they are being used. That signal never fails not even from half way around the world, how is it that you have gotten around it?”

Chavas answer is simple.“I will only tell you; if you tell me why you’re not dead after that fall.”

“Another compromise? Is it really so important that you know?” Raymond infers as the situation breaks on a subtle notion of curiosity.

“Maybe, but only because I now know that those like you understand the reason, and may find familiarity with my interest in self-preservation, in a quest to understand.”

“Is this, the demand you wish to make of me? To gain information?”

“No, that will come later, this is just us, talking. Getting to know each other and wanting to learn something about the other in exchange for understanding.” Chava stops and looks Raymond in the eyes. “I don’t dislike you, and I want to trust you, but only because what I wish to ask of you in our initial agreement is....” Chava stops before lets too much lose onto her plate of worries and looks away from Raymond. I can feel through Raymond that her body is incredibly warm, and gets warmer as she holds her tongue. She looks Raymond in the eyes again after a moment, her narrow pupils dilate as they meet Raymond gaze. “I’m just curious, is all, and I know you might wish to survive what is to come your way. I want you to know that there is a difference, between creatures like me, and the other horrors that walk the forest.”

“How do you know that I’ll use what you tell me for the right reasons? For self-defense and not your destruction?”

" You’re an honest man, and though you try to hide it your compassion, is encoded by your genes and your blood. I know, that you will do what you think is right, what you know is fair.”

“You got all of that from tasting my blood?” Raymond says getting a better sense of the Gorgons Psychic abilities.

" I can tell many things. How old you really are. The places you have gone to. The things you have seen. The intensity of your emotion, and your strength in power. It was part of the reason why I decided to help you.” Chava says, acting as though she is holding something back, a desire in her consciousness.

Is this true? Can this Gorgon sense so much about Raymond only from tasting his blood? Why is she being like this, so nice to someone who has already killed so much of her kind? What is her purpose, her intention in acting so human? I can only guess as it seems a moment might be unfolding between the two. A beautiful beast and a valiant man who now seek to understand one another as they walk down an isle of promises. I can sense that something in Raymonds compassion allows him to reach a sort of sympathy. It, in turn, induces an attraction, one that seems almost too thick in his blood for him to see past. Chava, it seems; maybe winning over Raymond’s trust, And with this new realization my heart sinks.

Raymond thinks for a moment; his own past is what now drives him to his place of understanding. “Like you,” he says “I also have enemies of my own kind, but as of right now, with you being the lesser of two evils, I am still unsure if I can trust you.”

“I’m not asking you to, trust is a bond that is built out of loneliness and time. What I am asking ifs that you confide your fears of me, to a knowing of my own compassion, and I will do the same for you.” Chava whispers, her voice is now low and husky it, turns Raymond’s feelings to her favor.

“Fine I will answer your question.”

“Are you sure you want to Shock Wave.?”

“That is not my real name,” Raymond says loathing the title, then reasserts a stance of trust. “Call me Raymond, Raymond Drakes.”

“Raymond Drakes, that is a handsome name,” Chava says.

Raymond doesn’t respond to this compliment. But only goes onto a explain a mystery about himself that perplexes even him.” I don’t know what my bones are made of, no one does. It is a material that cannot be analyzed by any sort of technology. I am not a machine or a ghost, no one has any answers as to what Gravitation really are, but we are similar to all three in a way. So no one has answers, not even me.”

“That is a saddening reply,” Chava says. “Self-awareness is so pressing to some, you must have so many questions about yourself, who you are, where you came from. I can tell you these things if you wish?”

Raymond hears what Chava is saying, and the answer to a long-standing mystery as to his own origins is now dangled in front of him on a string made of animal silk. However, as he is the way he is his past doesn’t matter to him, only; his future, “I don’t, my past, where I came from are unknown to but most of my life is a lie, and everything else to hold truth to it is dead. My past may haunt me, but I must always move forward, and never look back if I want to survive.”

“You don’t want to know the purpose, of your true power?” Chava says, a deep sadness in her eyes. She can sense Raymond’s overwhelming desire for answers, as well as his pain in never knowing who he really is, or who his family was. Even Chava knows these things about herself it seems.

“Sometimes it’s is better to know even if you want to.” Raymond replies. “However, I will tell you what little I know. The Gravitation each of them has similar abilities, the most common is the ability to heal, when near something that emits radiation. Radiation being the source of our powers, we are able to regenerate, even entire limbs and organs. After death, we can be brought back to life, and that is why we return to the battlefield over and over.

“What, a horrible fate. So you are Immortal? No wonder why your blood effected me the way it did, pure life energy in so many forms. Your pain so intense, and not just from the fall. Immortal; how?”

“In a way, we are immortal, and then some. It is for that reason that most of the humanity sees us as monsters.” Raymond changes subject as he views the expression on Chava’s face. One of worry and concern. “Tell me, you must.” Raymond inquiries, a glimmer of some kind of hope in his eyes. “Why is it that you haven’t been found yet. How is it possible that no one has detected you, so close to a base, that is so heavily guarded?”

Chava has to pull herself away from her own thought to answer. Her mind now so caught in the contemplation of Immortality. But she is able to focus and puts Raymonds question into her full attention. “The gorgons; as you call us. Have natural psychic abilities, for some, it is an ability that applies to each part of us even if it is detached. I have grown a piece of myself into each these trees, each tree emits a field of psychic energy on its own because they are able to talk to each other. Their energies also affect their victims affect their victims so if their fruits get mixed up, then they know which tree to come to. This energy has combined with my efforts to be a part of them. In turn, they boost my ability, and can filter out any signal I wish them to. I can sense the tracking signal in your technology, your ever prying eyes of frequency, and have plucked them, like ripe Olives.”

Raymond looks around at the small odd forest, the twisted branches now taking on a new meaning in his mind,” This forest, is a part of you? That is amazing, do you have any idea how much some people would pay for secrecy like this? Do you?”

“Yes, like humans and their lives privacy is something even animals demand, many Gorgons have the ability so search out the world with their minds, so naturally others have developed the ability to stop this. We use the growth as a weapon to our advantage, and in turn, find comfort in solitude.”

“Exactly how much control do you have, over these plants?” Raymond asked astounded.

Raymond cannot see this, but as they walk the trail the trees bud, and bloom in vibrant flowers of Atomic color. Coming through the black and white screen as they fall from the sharp branches of the Razor lined trees. They are soaked and pollinated with emotions of affection. I can’t help but feel myself become a bit jealous, of Chavas attitude of her own abilities, the understanding of herself that seems almost second nature. I still have many unfulfilled questions about myself as well, it was something that drew me and Raymond together. But now it seems, someone more well-endowed than I, is now to take my place. The feelings inside Raymond grow with every moment they talk.

Why is Chava doing this, what does she want from him. She and Raymond aren’t even of the same species so it makes very little sense that she would seek his affection. Such a romantic display, such a delicate moment, it is something that I was never able to give him and in that, it pulls out the worst of my emotions; rage and envy, in a mix that clouds my perception. If I could, I would punch Chava in the face, and tear Raymond apart.

Raymond turn around to look behind him, his teetering wits finally sense the motions all about his vicinity of extra sense. Looking back, he is caught off guard by such a display of beauty, and power, as orange flowers fall from the tree’s. However, the color of his moment of wonder soon reminds him of what he lost, and why he is braving the lair of beasts to begin with.

“The fruit is rather delicious as well,” Chava says as Raymond looks. “If you are lucky enough to find it before it begins to rot. Picked from the tree, it is the sweetest fruit of all.”

“I’m sure it’s an acquired taste, one I don’t have,” Raymond says, trying to hold onto something inside him. And the emotion of hurt, and loneliness. “Just take me to what I want to see, I’ve seen enough of this.”

Chava seems slightly disheartened, but she and Raymond continue forward as Chava has promised. Taking Raymond to the place he desires on limping step at a time. They reach a small opening, a grotto, decorated with old statues and lush plants. Long green vines drape down from the trees of an even more exotic nature, ones not indigenous to the plant life of this continent. Old statues of a time long passed, stand embedded into the greenery and bark of the foliage and wooden pillars, their human features still perfect as they avoided corrosion from the elements, it seems a place once buried by the time, now standing un-earthed by Chavas diligence and care.

Sitting on a marble table in the center of the encasement, are hundreds of human radios, all of them emitting the sound of man’s chatter. Hundreds of different conversation take place at once, talking across channels that jump about the various airwaves. People are speaking every which way in panic, gunfire and screams are heard from others, and Raymonds name seems to be the focus of many of many conversations. As it seems each radio is tuned to a different channel. Some of the radios are older models, and to that fact; can be set on channels that no longer exist.

I can’t believe how old some of these radios are, almost a hundred years of technological history some of the models are old enough be set to entire wavelength that others cannot even find, secret conversations take place, speaking of the possible outcome of Raymonds death, and something still killing men in the forest. This strikes me as concerning, because if it wasn’t Chava that killed those men, then who was it?

A few radio’s sit silently on the sturdy table of the colored slab. Even I am unable to recognize their origin as these radios are tiny black things of organic wiring made to be hidden on, or even inside the body, but I know out of instinct , and just by their odd nature that they are the devices, of foreign spies.

“Look like you kept your end of the deal,” Raymond says. Then stumbles a bit on his own pain.

“I told you there are still slivers of bone in your body. They are going to cut deeper into your organs if you don’t get them removed.”

“I don’t have time to sit around,” Raymond says before pushing himself further letting, go of Chava to walk toward the collection or radios, hearing his name in a conversation, he knows that soon More soldiers will come looking for him. “I need to find the one that will take me to the right channel.” he grits, then painfully makes his way forward.

Raymond desperately stumbles closer to a suitable resting place against the old table, then has to stop a moment to cough up blood from his shredded organs, still in the process of repairing. His head becomes slightly light and his thoughts absent as he does. But yet somehow he is still able to concentrate.

He looks at each radio closely; it seems he is looking for one in particular as just picking any radio won’t due.

“You look for something specific. Do you mind if I ask what?”

Raymond turns around slightly to look at Chava. “Yes, I do mind actually.”

“Another secret I see,” Chava says moving closer to Raymond, she comes up uncomfortably proximity pressing against him. “Do you remember our deal,” she says enticingly, as her body now hotter than it’s ever been.” That demand that you said you wouldn’t refuse?”

“I’m trying to think to hear, and the blood on your breath is making me nauseous,” Raymond says, letting his discomfort be known. But this doesn’t stop Chava advances.

“Oh come on now Raymond, you get what you want but only after I get what I want, and this is the demand you can’t refuse.” She says whispering into his ear, then she takes a deep inhale of Raymond scent.

“I don’t think I like where this is going,” Raymond says. Chavas incredibly warm, soft, body pressing against him.

“It doesn’t matter. You are honor bound to see it through, Raymond. My kind is at war, my allies and I need as many strong soldiers as we can produce. You and your genes are the keys to our victory. So this is just simply how it has to be, I know you still aren’t comfortable with me, but you must bear with me until your promise is fulfilled. You will get used to it, I promise.”

“This is your demand, to provide you with strong children? You’re a gorgons. There is now way I could provide you with, any children it’s simply impossible.”

“But; it is. I’ve tasted your blood, I know many things about you including this. your blood can mix with mine and make a new life, meaning its possible for me to conceive your children.”

“No, that impossible Undertakers can’t.....” Raymond suddenly is overcome by something mixing into his blood.

“I need you, Raymond, this is a promise you must full fill, your life, for this one.” Chava presses her lips against his. They are soft, I can tell, and it is in that moment that Raymond loses all control of himself, and kisses her back.

My rage fills me up like so many tons of hot sand being compressed into a single container too small to hold it, and around me, the blackness begins to crack and split like glass.

I am too consumed by my own thoughts to notice as I think about this moment. ‘Raymond, how could you, as week as you are. How could you betray me?’ The overflow of my rage is transferred into hate. A hate that brings me a vast amount of conclusions about who Raymond really is. A liar, a cheater, and a killer.

Is the love of this monster now what he seeks, to be used for someone else’s gain as some type of genetic drone? His children will be monsters like her, it seems fitting as I think about it. That the only thing he could produce would be horrible abominations things not meant to walk this earth as human, gorgon or Undertaker. Chava is pretty for a blood sucking monster, and strong to boot, maybe I was too week for Raymond’s affection, too easily taken from his embrace, and never there when he needed me the most, but it doesn’t give him the right to be weak himself. (Does it?)

My own thoughts betray me, and my anger seeks to consume me entirely. I want to cry, but I just get or enraged.

“Have you given up again?” Rem says as she watches me fall apart.

“He murdered me didn’t he? He had no more use for me so he just got me out of the way. How could I have ever been such a fool to trust someone like him; with my love!”

“Lower your voice please.” Rem Requests. “You cannot effect what is taking place, but the truth is as you see it, and only as it is the truth.”

Rem knows its seems, men; their treachery, their deceit. How week they can become in a moment’s notice, as they talk about things like love, and then turn their backs to warm themselves on a prettier more attractive fire. Typical, just typical. (Or is it?)

In the back of my mind, something tells me that Raymond would not give in this easily, in the back of my mind, where the most profound instincts exist. Something tells me, I am not completely powerless.

Rem looks at me” What is that?”

“I don’t know, I feel something.” I reply, “A hole, somewhere in the dimensions.”

“Feel what? There is nothing you can do. Nothing to stop this monster from taking him away from you are powerless, so give in to what is the truth.”

I am no fool, not even to what Rem telling me, maybe she just doesn’t feel what I feel, or maybe something else is going on.” Look ,something is there watch closely, there is something there that bridges the gap, between these two realms. Can’t you feel it?”

Rem looks at the image before us and staring intently to see what it is that I want to show her. As She searching through the filter of realms, Rem can sense a bridge between this timeless place, but remains silent.

It sits on the table with the radios, it is one of the devices itself that vibrates within a specific static. I remember, something, a detail about this radio, something that I am not supposed to remember. Something; that someone tried really hard to erase from my knowledge, and sent it to a place of forgotten things.

“I can sense it, a machine that bridges the gap. Between these places.” I say.” It definitely exists.”

“Yes a device erased from memory, I’ve seen the explanation of such a device found its way into the darkness. It is a radio tuned to the wavelength of this place. But surely it won’t work.

“I’m positive I can get it to work,” I say.

“It can talk to many things. But it is a part of the past, and the past never changes, and for good reason.” Rem says.

“Why?” I ask.

“Such a device will attract others caught here who will sense the change, and they will be able to find us more easily and wreak havoc on our souls.”

“I don’t care; I have to stop this from happening.”

“Then don’t say I didn’t warn you,” Rem says, her voice is as monotones as it has always been. however, she doesn’t seem pleased with what I have discovered.

It doesn’t take me much to concentrate my emotions into the device I see. Memory’s now come to me, through the haze of my death-shock, and in an instant, I am able to focus a burst of power that transcends time and space. It filters into words, that bend around the corner of realities blockade.

I let it go like a rubber band that has been tensed to it a breaking point, and almost snapped in sling shooting my message through the void, but, as the message is let go, something else becomes known, another figure appears next to me and Rem. Holding out its hand, as it tries to stop me from accomplishing my goal.

The figure takes the shape of another woman, she is wearing familiar clothing but it is torn to shreds. She says her words in crystal clear tone, “What have you done.”

I look at the image as my message is received, it comes through interrupting all of the radio signals, taking them over to amass my voice as one sound, my message was simple, as It was only two words, but now I know, it may have been too powerful.

“Raymond stop!” My voice says as it bursts a large hole through the chatter of radios. For a moment everyone stops talking, each radio becomes silent as it seems, everyone has heard my warning.

However, my plan has worked it seems. The blasting cap off a message breaks apart the concrete moment that Chava and Raymond wherein, stopping what they are doing. Raymond is able to pull himself away now as he can hear the sound of my voice. Raymond begins digging through the radios to look for the one he had been searching for. But, it is only just as he grabs a hold of it right one, that something grabs his and Chava attention, something that speaks too low to be heard, and has them both in a state of caution.

“What have you done!? “Says the phantom that now sits in the void with us. “I almost had his attention, you; idiot!”

“What are you talking about, who are you?”

“Oh god no! This is bad. This is very bad.” Says the ghost in torn white coat. “Now he’s coming, and nothing can stop him, not even her!”

Rem takes her turn to speak. “You are an obviously mad spirit, be gone from us.” Rem holds out her hand, towards this new interloper. Forcing some type of energy her way, but she spirit doesn’t dissipate and is only slightly stunned by the power being used against her. She covers her ears and takes a fetal position.

“You don’t understand; he is going to kill him!” She says, yelling as if over some loud noise.

Something catches my attention on the black and white veil set before me. Something that has Chava and Raymond, both poised to move at moment’s notice. Whatever is going on distorts the screen, and causes a shift in Raymond’s image.

“What is that noise,” Raymond says.

“Sounds like laughter, the crowing of something neither human or Gorgon” Chava replies. “It’s so close, but for some reason, I can’t sense it.”

“What!?” Raymond exclaims.

Something lands in front of them, it makes a perfect circle on the ground with its immense force. This, in turn, corrupts the image so much that the screen goes blank in an instant. The connections between min and Raymond souls is broken, and the shock hit me hard. Everything then returns to black as the screen dies.

Rem lets go of my shoulders and begins to clasp the sides of her head. She screams in the tone of a glass bulldozer crushing styrofoam and slate and is then gone.
