Ecstacy of the Heart

"It's okay." Allison's concentration was all on the ring and she did not notice Renata's change. "Alice, you've gotten married? When did that happen?" Renata tilted her head and asked due to curiosity. During her internship in the company, she had had a basic understanding about everyone in the department. Allison was always single before and she did not have any boyfriend. Now that she had suddenly worn a wedding ring, she was feeling weird.

Allison also knew what happened to her was weird, yet she could not possibly tell the truth. Plus, even if she did say she had had a blind date with the Mr. President of the Parker Group and was chosen by him, nobody would have believed her. After a moment of thought, she gave a short reply. "I met my partner through a blind date, which happened only two days ago." She then lowered her head and continued diving into her work. Seeing Allison did not speak any further, Renata no longer asked anything.

When around twenty minutes had passed, Allison finally completed her work for the transition process. She printed out the documents and passed them to Renata. "Thank you, Alice." Renata held the documents in her arms and said sweetly. She glanced at the time and realized it was already lunch time. She then said to Allison, "Alice, I still have something that I'm not familiar with. How about this, we could have lunch together and you could explain it to me one more time." Afraid that Allison would refuse, she then said, "I'm so scared I'll make a mistake. If so I won't be able to complete my internship." She frowned and stared at Allison with a pitiful look. Allison did not have the reason to reject her when she saw that, she then agreed to her request.

They then arrived at the International Hotel of City J. "Renata, are we having lunch here?" The International Hotel was the hotel with the highest standard in the whole City J, no matter the furnishing or the food It was not a place where ordinary people could randomly enter. Renata was leading the way in front of her; hearing her words, she turned around and held her arms while saying with a smile, "Yes. I've booked a suite just now."

"But, won't it be too expensive?" Allison still felt slightly inappropriate. They were just having a meal, should they be that lavish? "Alice, I want to thank you for the care you always gave me. Plus, I've already booked it, it would be a waste of money if we don't eat there." As she spoke, she unconsciously tightened her grasp on Allison's wrist, as if she was afraid she would run away. Allison's attention was all on how much it would cost on the meal and she did not notice Renata's little action at all. Seeing Allison no longer spoke, Renata quickly dragged her inside.

After entering the suite, Allison was once again amazed by the standard of the hotel. The suite was decorated lavishly as if it was laid with shiny gold. Allison looked at Renata with a conjecture look. She then asked after some moment of thought, "Renata, could it be that you're actually rich?" Being thrown that question, Renata smiled and did not reply, as if she had admitted. Seeing that, Allison was slightly relieved. If Renata was any normal person, she would definitely not have the meal there. After all, having a meal that cost a month or two salary was too unworthy.

"Alice, come sit here. What do you want to eat?" Renata sat beside her and handed the menu to her. Allison took it over and the moment she opened it, her eyes browsed through the price behind each dish. She could not help but draw a cold breath. After a brief look through, she noticed even the cheapest dish cost thousands. Were they eating gold?

"Renata, I think we should go to other place." The price on top made her felt uncomfortable. Yet Renata took the menu from her hand with a smile on her face and said, "Alice, I've said that this meal is my treat you don't have to worry about it." She flipped through the menu while making orders with the waiter at the side.

It was at that moment Allison suddenly felt an urge to pee. She went to the only toilet in the suite and when she came out, some appetizers and drinks had been placed on the table. The moment she sat down, Renata raised the fruit juice in her hand at her and said, "Alice, congratulations once again for the promotion!" Allison was touched by her heartwarming action. She then casually took the juice beside her and clinked glasses with Renata. "Thank you, Renata." After taking a sip, she put down the glass.

Renata was staring at her all the time. Noticing she only took one sip, she was slightly anxious. She then gulped down the juice in her hand, raised her empty glass at her and said, "Alice, do finish it. It's to congratulate you being promoted after all!" Being persuaded by her and thought the juice was different from wine since it would only make her stomach full, she did not think any further and once again drank al the juice that was left. Realizing Allison had fallen into the trap, the corner of Renata's lips curved and she glimpsed at the time without notice.
