Chapter 58
Chapter 58
Samantha sized Yennefer up and said, “If you leave my son, who do you think will want a used up, divorced, infertile woman, like you? Let me tell you, only my son will value you! If it’s anyone else, they won’t even beg you to stay, let alone appreciate you. They will abuse you for not being able to have children, and you won’t even get the chance to ask for a divorce because they will have already thought of it”
Samantha approached them, took the suitcase from Yennefer, and adopted a new tone, abandoning her previous eagerness to have Yennefer divorce Jonathan. She spoke authoritatively. “I’m telling you, you can’t get a divorce! I may even consider not pushing you to have children anytime soon”
In the end, Yennefer didn’t manage to leave the house that day.
The following moming. Jonathan took Yennefer to his company and fired Winnie in front of Yennefer.
Despite Jonathan’s begging for forgiveness and efforts to win her heart, Yennefer’s heart remained numb, and her decision to divorce him was final. She had no intention of forgiving him again.
“Yenny, I won’t ever divorce you!” Jonathan was determined.
He even told Yennefer, “You can punish me as you wish, but I will never divorce you even if I die!”
Yennefer felt exhausted because of this.
Coincidentally, the company provided an opportunity for a one–month overseas study program.
Yennefer immediately applied for it.
On the day Yennefer left for her overseas study program, Josephine came to the airport to see her off and said, “Aunt Yennefer, I want to buy a house so that if you still insist on getting a divorce when you come back a month later, you will have a place to go. Why don’t we give up everything? Although you and Jonathan have worked together all these years to get everything you’ve achieved today, let’s give it up as long as you can leave that family”
Yennefer’s eyes were red after hearing that.
She then nodded. “Okay”
With that, Yennefer left.
The next day, Josephine began to attend house viewings.
Despite working multiple jobs over the years and saving up, house prices were on the rise. Josephine realized that her savings of more than 45 thousand dollars were still not enough to cover the down payment for a house in a desirable residential area in Stoummont.
Ragnar had just returned to Levine Group after meeting the client outside.
His chief secretary and senior assistant, Mike Xander, came over in a hurry. “Mr. Levine, Ms. Smith came to see you.”
Ragnar frowned. “Who are you talking about?”
Mike replied, “It’s Ms. Smith. She’s waiting for you in the reception room now.”
Ragnar looked in the direction of the reception room.
Just then, the glass door of the reception room was pushed open.
The woman, who was in luxurious custom–made clothing, leaned against the glass door, wearing a bright smile and a gentle gaze. “It’s been a while. Ragnar
Ragnar was caught off guard by her appearance.
He asked coldly, “Why are you here?”
Dorothy Smith was speechless after hearing that because she thought Ragnar would be happy to see her.
Dorothy’s smile froze, but only for a moment. It quickly returned as bright as before. “Why can’t I be here? Ragnar, I came back because of you!”
Ragnar remained indifferent. “If you have anything to say, come in.”
He turned around and walked toward the CEO’s office.
Dorothy followed him in with high heels.
The new assistant of the secretariat came over and asked Mike, “Mr. Xander, who exactly is Ms. Smith?”
Mike looked in the direction of the CEO’s office and answered the assistant, “A woman who almost became Mrs Levine!”
Meanwhile, in the CEO’s office, Ragnar stared at Dorothy coldly. “Did you return because of something?”
“Yes!”
Dorothy then approached him as she wanted to hug Ragnar
However, Ragnar shifted his position, evading her hug. “If you have something to say, say it while standing there. Don’t touch me,” he told Dorothy
Dorothy shamefully called out his name, “Ragnar.”

With an aggrieved look, she looked pitifully at Ragnar. “Are you still angry with me? Ragnar, don’t be angry, okay? I’ve returned now, haven’t I? And Ragnar, I told you, I came back because of you!”
Ragnar asked, “Why did you come back suddenly?”
Dorothy smiled.
She said to Ragnar, “What’s the point of staying alone in Muprary without you? I just want to go back to where you are and be with you!”
Her gaze was intense and filled with deep affection as she asked, “Ragnar, are you okay?”
Ragnar said, “I’m fine.”
Dorothy looked shy as she expressed her feelings. “Ragnar, I have made up my mind! I am willing to be the mother of Danny and Manny and take care of them as if they are our own biological children. I don’t mind not having biological children for their sake.”
However, Ragnar rejected her.
He said indifferently, “That won’t be necessary. They already have a mother!”
Dorothy couldn’t believe it. “What did you say?”
“I said Danny and Manny already have a mother! You can leave now!”
“I don’t believe it!” Dorothy refuted.
Dorothy looked at Ragnar in front of her with wide eyes.
The Levine family’s ancestors were from Sloummont, but years ago, the Levine family moved to Muprary. The family’s business was also based in Muprary at the same time.
Alfred Levine, Ragnar’s grandfather, had plans to develop his business in his home country when he was in his twenties because he felt that the domestic development of his home country was promising.
Meeting Diana strengthened Alfred’s resolve to relocate the Levine Group’s headquarters to Sloummont when he returned to the country to expand his
business.
The Levine family, with the contributions of its three generations, Alfred, Clement Levine, Ragnar’s father, and Ragnar himself, managed to make a successful comeback to Sloummont and surpass the Lambert family, which had been thriving for a century! They currently held a dominant position in the city, being the top player in the economy and controlling the city’s lifeline.
More than a decade ago, Ragnar’s mother became ill.
Due to his mother’s illness and in order to take better care of her, Clement took his wife to Muprary and stayed there with her.
Ragnar’s uncle had been in charge of the branch office in Muprary since he married a woman from Muprary. Hence, his uncle stayed there as well.
Diana hated everything in Muprary.
After all, she grew up in Sloummont! She also met, fell in love, and lived with Alfred in this city for her entire life!
The Levine residence was her and Alfred’s house!
Hence, Diana hadn’t been anywhere else for the past few years! She had been staying at the Levine residence and watched over the house, which was filled with the memories she had with Alfred.
Recently, Diana paid a visit to Ragnar’s house out of concern for him. However, upon realizing that Ragnar and Josephine’s relationship was stable and there was no cause for worry, she finally felt relieved and returned to the Levine residence.
Ragnar returned to Sloummont to take over the headquarters after Alfred’s passing, as he wanted to take care of his grandmother and allow his father to spend more time with his mother.
The Levine family’s company in Muprary was under the management of Clement and his uncle, and it had been developing well over the years! The company had a pivotal position in Muprary.
Dorothy was from Muprary.
The Smith family also relocated to Muprary, like the Levine family. The difference was that the Smith family had been settled there since their move, and their company and everything was headquartered there.
Dorothy and Ragnar met four years ago.
