Chapter 44
She said this without Yvette prompting at all.

Josephine explained to Yvette calmly and gently. “The only reason I can’t give you any extra lessons is that my schedule is full, and
don’t need the extra lessons, either. You’re sinart enough to pick up anything I teach you at the drop of a hat! You always surprise me with how well you pull off an arrangement.” She paused to let Yvette take all this in, then continued, “I think a weekly two–hour class for a brilliant child like you is more than enough, Yvette.”

Chapter 44
Josephine was a nanny and had studied child psychology. She was very patient and quickly calmed Yvette down.
When she was about to leave, Yvette reached out her hand and grabbed her. “Ms. Yeager, it’s fine since you said you can’t add classes, but can you stay and have lunch with me today? It’s already noon. Besides, it’s my birthday today, Ms. Yeager!”
Yvette looked at Josephine expectantly. She hoped Josephine would stay to have a meal with her and celebrate her birthday.
Josephine could not refuse anymore.
As she looked at Yvette, who was gazing at her with a pitiful and aggrieved look, she felt sorry for her and could not bear to refuse at all.
“Okay,” Josephine agreed.
“Yeah!” Yvette was so happy.
She ran to Christopher and asked, “Daddy, did you hear that? Ms. Yeager promised to stay for lunch and celebrate my birthday with me!”
Christopher looked at her dotingly.
He reached out and rubbed her head. “Yes. I heard it.”
It was already noon.
Christopher, Yvette, and Josephine sat down for lunch.
Christopher, who was sitting at the dining table, looked elegant and gentle.
He was a good father. He looked at Yvette lovingly and scooped dishes for her from time to time, taking good care of Yvette.
Yvette was an active person.
She talked from time to time, looking playful and cute.
However, Yvette looked at Josephine during the meal and suddenly said, “Ms. Yeager, it would be great if you were my
mother!”
Josephine was stunned.
At the thought of the fact that Yvette had lost her mother when she was a child, Josephine felt sad for her.
She did not know how to comfort Yvette. Josephine reached out her hand and rubbed Yvette’s head. “Sweetheart, you have the best daddy in the world who loves you the most, don’t you? It is your birthday today, and I happen to have nothing to do in the afternoon. If you want, I’ll go to the amusement park with you after lunch, okay?”
Yvette responded, “Okay!”
It was easy to satisfy a six or seven–year–old child. Yvette cheered up again when Josephine said she would go with her to the amusement park later.
Christopher was grateful.
He looked at Josephine with appreciation. Then, he fell into deep thought.
Christopher loved his wife very much.
Over the years, he had never forgotten his deep love for her. Besides, he was too busy caring for Yvette, so he had never

thought about getting married again.
“However, if Yvette needed…” he mused.
When they were about to finish lunch, Josephine’s phone rang. It was a call from Ragnar.
She looked at Christopher and Yvette and said, “Mr. Hayes, Yvette, I’ve finished eating. I’m going out to answer a call first.”
After she spoke, she went out with her phone and answered the call.
Yvette watched Josephine walk out.
She retracted her gaze and asked Christopher, who was still eating gracefully, “Daddy, do you like Ms. Yeager?”
Christopher did not answer.
Instead, he looked at Yvette dotingly and asked, “What about you?”
“Of course I like her!”
Yvette looked at Christopher seriously and said, “I want Ms. Yeager to be my mother. Daddy, is that okay?”
Yvette’s biological mother passed away when she was very young.
Christopher took care of Yvette as a father as well as a mother. He gave her the best of everything that he could. Yet, the only thing he could not give her was motherly love.
That was the only thing he owed his daughter.
“Yvette, do you want a mother?”
“Yes! But, Daddy, I only want Ms. Yeager to be my mommy. I don’t want any other unpleasant women!”
After saying that, Yvette looked at Christopher and asked uncertainly. “Daddy, can you win Ms. Yeager’s heart?”
Christopher was handsome and elegant.
He was tall and dressed in a black suit, portraying a mature and stable image without looking old.
He was 32 years old, the age of a handsome man that young ladies admired.
“Haha.” He chuckled in a low voice.
Looking at his lovely daughter in front of him, he asked, “Do you think Daddy’s not good enough?”
Yvette shook her head.
In her view, her daddy was the best and most outstanding man in the world. “However…” she mused.
“Daddy, you’re great, but Ms. Yeager is not a shallow woman,” Yvette said.
It was not that easy to make Josephine her mother. Yvette said to Christopher, “Daddy, if you also like Ms. Yeager, you must work hard! Otherwise, she will be pursued by others!”
Christopher said, “Okay!”
When Josephine returned from taking the call, Christopher and Yvette had already finished their meals.
Yvette could not wait anymore. She ran over to Josephine and said, “Ms. Yeager, can we go to the amusement park now?”
Josephine agreed, “Okay.”
Yvette, Christopher, and Josephine went together to the amusement park.
*Ms. Yeager, I want to ride on the carousell Ms Yeager, shall we drive bumper cars? You and I take a car, and Daddy takes another car. Let’s go on the roller coaster too!”
Yvette was too young to take a roller coaster ride. That made her a little disappointed, but soon she became happy again.
“Ms. Yeager, there is a haunted house here!”
Yvette grabbed Josephine’s hand and ran ahead. Soon, they came to the haunted house.
After inquiring, the staff suggested that a child as old as Yvette should not enter such an exciting place, as she might get scared and have nightmares when she went home later.
Yvette looked sad once again.
Josephine smiled gently and looked in a direction not far away. “Yvette, there is a plaster figure painting there. Let’s go and paint it, okay?”
Yvette looked over.
Her eyes lit up again. “Okay!”
Then. Yvette grabbed Josephine’s hand and ran to the plaster figure painting stall. She carefully selected the plaster figures. for painting, one for herself and one for Josephine.
Christopher followed behind them.
He sat there and watched Josephine and Yvette paint.
Looking at Josephine, who was very patient with Yvette, he was determined to marry her and let her be Yvette’s mother.
The sun was setting, and night gradually fell on Sloummont.
At that moment, Yvette was exhausted as she had been playing for the whole day. Christopher held Yvette in his arms and walked to the parking lot with Josephine.
Christopher was handsome and tall. He had an elegant temperament that made others around him glance at him.
Although Josephine was skinny, she had a perfect figure. Not only did she have a good temperament, but she was also tall. and had a clean and beautiful face.
Yvette was smart and lively.
Although she was exhausted, she became even more excited. She kept talking to Josephine and Christopher while Christopher held her.
The pedestrians around looked at them enviously from time to time.
A man could
help but say to the woman beside him, “Look at the family of three. If I can marry such a gentle wife and
have such a lovely daughter in the future, I will die without regret!”
