Chapter 21
Chapter 21
Josephine looked at Ragnar in disbelief. She thought, “The CEO of Levine Group. Is he a robber? Or is he used to giving orders? A robber who decides everything on his own as if he rules the world.”
Ragnar misunderstood Josephine and humilisted her with those harsh words, which led him to want to terminate the contract and even ask her to leave. Now that Ragnar found it was a misunderstanding, he decided not to terminate the contract
“It’s decided.” Ragnar decided everything unilaterally.
Then, he took out a black card and handed it to Josephine..
Josephine did not understand and asked, “Mr. Levine, what do you mean?”
Ragnar replied, “Take it. Although we have signed an agreement to be my wife for three years only, you are still my wife! I don’t care how many jobs you have had before. You have to quit your jobs. In the future, you can use this card for your food, clothing, and all expenses. There is no limit! I’ve told you before that after the expiration of the three–year contract, I will still give you a huge amount of money as compensation and reward.”
Ragnar thought that Josephine did not need to work on other jobs.
Now that Josephine had become part of the Levine family as his wife, her current job was to focus on taking care of the children!
Josephine did not accept the black card from Ragnar.
She looked at Ragnar and said, “Now, I don’t want to continue my contract with you, Mr. Levine!”
Ragnar laughed.
He looked at the stubborn and determined woman. Ragnar replied, “Okay. If you insist on terminating the contract, Ms. Yeager, it’s not impossible! However, since we want to terminate the contract, shouldn’t you pay the compensation first?”
Josephine was stunned and asked, “What compensation?”
Ragnar brought the agreement signed by them and let Josephine read it carefully!
It was already stipulated in the agreement. If Josephine could not do her job well during the three–year contract period, took the initiative to terminate. the contract, or fell for Ragnar, and so on, she would need to pay a penalty of 15 million dollars!
Josephine thought that was exorbitant compensation.
However, Ragnar said nonchalantly, “Danny, Manny, and my net worth are far more than 15 million dollars.”
Josephine was speechless.
She stared at Ragnar and asked, “What if you asked to terminate the contract first or had feelings for me, Mr. Levine?”
Ragnar told Josephine, “The agreement clearly states that I will compensate you an amount of 750 thousand dollars if I terminate the contract on my own initiative. This is money that you can’t earn in your life. As for my feelings about you…”
Ragnar though it was the funniest joke for him.
He laughed in a low voice.
Then, Ragnar looked at Josephine and asked, “Do you think it’s possible?”
Josephine remained silent.
She thought it was impossible indeed.
Because Josephine could not afford the liquidated damages, she had no choice but to compromise and continue the previous agreement. She had to be,
Chapter 21
Ragnar’s secret wife and the nanny of the Levine family.
However, Josephine still did not want the black card given by Ragnar.
She said, “Mr. Levine, you and I are in a contract marriage. I will take good care of Danny and Manny according to the contract. But we also agreed in advance that I could have my freedom. I hope you won’t interfere with my work!”
Josephine was about to leave after saying that..
Ragnar stopped her and asked, “Do you still want to leave?”
Josephine was furious and looked at Ragnar as if she was a fierce tiger. She answered, “My things are all with my friends! I’ll stay at my friend’s house
tonight.”
Ragnar told Josephine, “There’s no need. I’ll ask Adam to get your things. It’s more important for you to take good care of the children! You can sleep in your previous room.”
Josephine felt that she wanted to slap him in the face, but she did not dare to do it, so she turned around and went upstairs.
When Josephine returned to her room and closed the door, her eyes suddenly turned red.
She lay on the big bed and buried her head in the blanket. Her tears dropped one by one.
The contract continued, and Josephine continued the job as the Levine family’s nanny.
Yennefer called to ask about the matter.
Josephine casually made an excuse and told Yennefer, “It was just a minor misunderstanding. Mr. Levine apologized to me. This job is great. So, Aunt Yennefer, I decided to stay.”
As days passed, the two sweethearts had successfully adjusted their routines under Josephine’s care. They also gained a lot of weight.
The nannies, the servants, and the butler in the Levine mansion also got along very well with Josephine.
However, Ragnar was the only man Josephine tried her best to avoid.
Even if Josephine met Ragnar, she would keep her head down and chose not to talk to him. Even if he spoke to her, she would finish her words in one sentence without going to the second sentence. If Ragnar came to see the children, Josephine would leave quickly.
Soon, one month passed.
Ragnar left Sloummont because of the company’s business trip.
Josephine continued her work and life.
That day, Liliana and Josephine left the company together after finishing their work.
A van parked at the company’s entrance opened the door after seeing them. Several tall men came out of the van.
They stopped Liliana and Josephine.
One of the men with purplish–red hair looked at Liliana and asked, “Are you Liliana?”
Liliana was stunned.
She looked at the man and asked, “Who are you?”
“It seems that I’m right!” The man with purplish–red hair waved his hand. “Get her!”
Liliana had learned kickboxing before and combat arts when she was a child. She was not afraid.
12:59 Wed,
Chapter 21
Liliana stared at the purplish–red–haired man and asked, “Who are you? Why do you want me? We’re at my company’s entrance. There are surveillance
cameras!”
The purplish–red haired man sneered.
He was the leader of a famous gang in Sloummont. Usually, he relied on fighting and collecting money to live. It was nothing out of the ordinary for him to enter the police station.
He dared to take this job and drive the car directly to the company’s entrance to wait for Liliana. He would not be afraid of surveillance cameras.
However, he could clarify everything to Liliana.
He said, “Don’t you know who you’ve offended? Let me tell you. Ms. Lambert ordered us to treat you ‘well‘ for you to understand how to behave yourself. Don’t offend anyone that you shouldn’t offend! You shouldn’t be delusional. You’d better leave her alone if you know your place!”
Liliana frowned.
Josephine was also confused. She wondered what was going on and who Ms. Lambert was. She asked, “Is it Valeria?”
Valeria was the only powerful and influential woman who had the surname Lambert known by Josephine and Liliana.
The purplish–red–haired man did not deny or admit it.
He ordered his men, “Get her in the car!”
His men answered, “Yes.”
The hooligans who followed the purplish–red–haired man were about to take action immediately.
Although Liliana knew how to fight, she understood she couldn’t defeat them alone. These men would have more advantage in fighting her.
Liliana grabbed Josephine’s hand and ran away.
The purplish–red–haired man cursed and then immediately ordered his men, “Damn it! Chase after her!”
With a baseball bat in his hand, he immediately chased after Liliana and Josephine with the hooligans.
Finally, Liliana and Josephine were blocked in an alley.
The man cursed and said, “Run away, bitch. I can see you are running pretty fast.”
