Eager Nanny, Reluctant Wife

Chapter 111

Chapter 111

Josephine was moved by his words.

She hadn’t expected Ragnar to be so thoughtful that even he could tell she was nervous.

The family sat together in the dining room.

Josephine sat next to Ragnar, Clement and Sherlyn sat across from them, and Diana sat at the very top.

The food on the table was vibrant in color, aroma, and flavor.

Josephine was a little dazzled.

“You don’t have to be so reserved, as we’re all family. I don’t know what you’d like, so I made a little bit of everything.” Diana said with a smile.

Diana then picked up the fork and placed some food in Josephine’s bowl.

“Thank you, Grandma Diana. I’ll do it myself.” Josephine saw no reason to be reserved because she was already sitting here..

After all, Josephine had been with Ragnar for so long that she more or less understood his temperament.

He would always stay by her side, which made her feel at ease.

Josephine took a deep breath and tried to relax with that thought in her mind.

Then, she smiled, mustered up her courage, and said politely, “Grandma Diana, Clement, and Sherlyn, all of you should eat too. It’s the first time I’m meeting you today. I’m so sorry for not bringing the two of you any gifts because I was in a hurry.”

Sherlyn smiled. Her smile was kind as if it could warm people’s hearts, and she said gently, “Your arrival is the best gift for me and Clement. Ragnar has always been inattentive, and he is also not very good at coaxing girls. If he ever makes you angry in the future, just call me, and I’ll teach him a lesson.”

When Ragnar heard this, he responded, “Mom. I never bully women, let alone my wife.”

“You’d better not. I’ll punish you if I find out you bullied her,” Sherlyn said with a serious expression.

Josephine was moved. “It feels good to be protected,” she thought to herself.

Although her relationship with Ragnar wouldn’t last, she had to admit that his parents were very nice and gentle. “Sherlyn, Ragnar treats me very well. Don’t worry.” Josephine couldn’t point out Ragnar’s faults in front of Sherlyn. Besides, she didn’t have much to say about Ragnar. Apart from being a little overbearing, he was still very nice to her. “That’s great.” Sherlyn nodded with satisfaction when she heard Josephine’s words. “Hurry up and eat. The food will be cold.

later.”

“All right.” Josephine was no longer reserved.

She picked up the fork and began to eat.

Throughout the meal, Sherlyn kept picking up food for Josephine and encouraging her to eat more.

Therefore, the bowl in front of Josephine was full of food.

Naturally, Josephine didn’t want to go against her sincerity. She could only force herself to eat everything in her bowl.

The whole family was full of smiles and laughter, and the atmosphere was harmonious during the meal.

Everyone sat in the living room after dinner, chatting and snacking.

Clement and Sherlyn sat next to each other. Despite the passage of time, their facial features remained unchanged.

Despite being in their fifties, they appeared to be in their early forties. They seemed very young

Moreover, Josephine could tell that they were madly in love.

They were definitely an enviable couple when they were out.

Josephine, Sherlyn called her gently.

Josephine heard her and turned to face her. “What’s the matter, Sherlyn?”

“You’ve been married to Ragnar for a very long time. It’s time to have your own child,” Sherlyn said.

Diana added, “You took the words out of my mouth,” after Sherlyn’s statement.

“I took Manny and Danny back to Muprary just so they could feel at ease and give birth to my great–grandson, but this happened. Fortunately, everything has been resolved.” Diana clasped Josephine’s and Ragnar’s hands together as she spoke. “Ragnar, Josephine is a good girl.”

Chapter 111

Ragnar replied, “I know.”

“Tin glad you know Diana was very satisfied when she heard Ragnar’s response.

She smiled as she looked at them and said, “I already have one foot in the grave. I don’t know how much time I have left. I’m just hoping that the two of you can have a baby soon so that I won’t have any regrets.”

Josephine was at a loss for words in response to Diana’s words.

She shifted her gaze to Ragnar and looked at him in a pleading manner.

Ragnar noticed her gaze and said with a smile, “Grandma, having a baby isn’t something we can just wish for. Perhaps it’s because our fate with the child has yet to arrive. Besides, Danny and Manny are currently overly attached to Josephine. It would be extremely exhausting for her if she became pregnant.”

Ragnar’s words meant a lot to Josephine. Her eyes were filled with gratitude as she looked at him.

“That’s also true.” Diana saw Danny and Manny clinging to Josephine with her own eyes. It was really hard work.

However, she discovered that the young couple said the same thing.

Josephine also said the same thing the other day.

She sighed slightly. “Ragnar, please hire a few babysitters to look after Danny and Manny while Josephine recovers.”

She went on meaningfully, “You know my situation…”

“Grandma is really doing everything she could to help me have a child sooner,” Ragnar thought to himself.

“Grandma, I promise I will fulfill your wish in half a year,” Ragnar said when he realized Diana was going to use this move.

Josephine looked at him when she heard this.

She thought. “I didn’t agree to this, okay?”

However, Diana was beaming as she heard Ragnar’s words.

She gently patted Ragnar’s and Josephine’s hands on the back and said, “That’s great. You only need to be concerned about having children. We’ll take care of them for you.”

“Ragnar, Grandma is right. Once the baby is born, there’s still me. I can help you take care of the baby, too,” Sherlyn chimed

  1. in.

Josephine couldn’t say a word when they were having a heated discussion about this topic.

She didn’t know how to tell them.

After all, she couldn’t possibly have a child within half a year.

Josephine felt particularly uncomfortable when she saw the smiles on Diana’s and Sherlyn’s faces.

She was going to let them down.

They left and returned to their bedrooms once they had finished talking.

Josephine lay on the bed after she took a shower, and Ragnar was about to hold her in his arms.

“Ragnar, why did you tell Grandma Diana and Sherlyn that we’d be pregnant in half a year?” she inquired.

Ragnar’s handsome brows furrowed slightly, and he looked at her with deep eyes. “What? Do you feel aggrieved to give birth to my child?”

Ragnar had the impression that Josephine was deliberately implying that she didn’t want anything to do with him.

“No,” Josephine replied. It was not that she would feel aggrieved. She just couldn’t.

“So, what exactly is it?” Ragnar’s tone was cold, and he locked his gaze on her.

His gaze was like a vortex as if he could swallow her whole.

When she caught sight of his gaze, Josephine quickly turned away and stopped looking at him before she said, “I think what 1 said was very clear.”

Ragnar’s frown deepened. He straightened Josephine’s head, made her look at him, and said, “I’ll say it for the last time, Josephine. We will be together for the rest of our lives now that we have the certificate. I can provide you with everything except love. Be my woman and stay by my side obediently.”
