Eager Nanny, Reluctant Wife

Chapter 109

Chapter 109

Gradually, Josephine indulged in his kiss, and her strength of resistance got weaker.

Ragnar’s kiss gradually became less fierce and gentler.

When the kiss ended, Josephine blushed.

Ragnar’s forehead rested on Josephine’s, and his tone softened a lot. Josephine, promise me not to mention the agreement ever in the future. From now on, you’re my woman and will give birth to children for me. Do you understand?”

Listening to his gentle voice, Josephine almost drowned in his tenderness.

But she really didn’t understand why Ragnar was obsessed with her.

She took a deep breath and mustered up the courage to ask, “Ragnar, do you love me?”

Ragnar’s body shook slightly when he heard that.

He looked at her with his dark eyes.

He smiled and said, “It’s so stupid to talk about love in front of me.”

The word “love” would never apply to him.

For him, love was a kind of bond.

He just wanted this woman to stay by his side.

He needed to form a family with this woman and then let her bear his children.

Josephine smiled at his words and said. “Since you don’t love me, why do you insist on keeping me by your side? Ragnar, I can’t marry a man who I don’t love and doesn’t love me. So, please let me go after the three–year agreement is fulfilled.”

Josephine spoke her words in a serious tone.

They were her genuine thoughts.

Ragnar’s expression turned cold instantly at hearing that she would leave him in the future. He raised her chin.

Then, he said coldly, “I will never let you go!”

The moment she said she didn’t love him, Ragnar felt as if a weight was pressing on his chest. Even his breathing became a little difficult.

“What’s the point of you doing all this?” Josephine said.

His domineering stance made Josephine feel powerless.

“No one can change my decision. Stay by my side. I can give you anything. Be a good girl.”

After saying that, Ragnar lowered his head to kiss her lips.

But Josephine turned her head away, and his kiss fell on her check instead.

Ragnar was not angry. He thought Josephine was just throwing a tantrum.

He let go of her and said. “Remember, bearing my child is your responsibility as my wife. Stop taking the medicine!”

After saying that, Ragnar took her hand and went downstairs.

Right then. Josephine was lost for words to describe her feelings.

They did agree upon a three–year agreement. Since when did she have to stay with him forever?

As a woman in the new era, Josephine couldn’t accept a marriage without love.

Maybe one day, Ragnar would find the woman he loved and let her go.

Thinking of this, Josephine took a long breath and suppressed her inner turmoils.

Ragnar didn’t even consider the morning incident as a bicker and acted as if nothing had happened.

During breakfast, he even took the initiative to pass the milk to her.

After breakfast, the two left separately.

At noon. Josephine received a call from Ragnar, telling her that Danny and Manny didn’t eat or drink after arriving in Muprary. They were crying nonstop.

Hearing the news, Josephine felt a pain jabbing through her heart. She instantly became anxious.

She asked, “What should we do, then?”

Ragnar was also anxious and said, “Ask for leave and wait for me at the gate of the company. We’ll leave for Muprary”

“Okay, Josephine answered without any hesitation.

She felt heartache when she heard that the twins were neither eating nor drinking.

After hanging up the phone, she immediately went to ask for leave.

Seeing her in such a hurry, Liliana asked, “What’s the hurry?”

Josephine glanced at her and said, “Danny and Manny aren’t eating or drinking. I have to go and have a look.”

“Josic, you’re just a nanny. You…”

*Liliana, since I’ve accepted this job, I have to be responsible for it. Okay, that’s it. I’m leaving now.”

She was afraid that Liliana would ask many questions later, and the matter would arouse her suspicions.

Liliana sighed helplessly. “Take care.”

Looking at Josephine’s back, Liliana couldn’t help but feel sad for her.

Josephine had really burned herself out for life.

Josephine waited at the door for two minutes before a car stopped in front of her. Ragnar rolled down the window and said,

“Get in.”

“Okay.” Josephine nodded and got into the car without any hesitation.

Soon, they got on the helicopter.

On the aircraft. Josephine frowned. “Is it because they’re not acclimatized to the new environment?”

“I’m not sure.”

When he received the call, Diana didn’t mention much on the phone.

She merely said that Danny and Manny were crying fiercely and refusing to eat or drink. He didn’t probe further and called Josephine straight away.

If he guessed it right, it should be that Danny and Manny were used to having Josephine by their sides and weren’t used to the change of environment after going to Muprary.

“It’s all my fault. I should have followed them to Muprary to take care of them.” Josephine felt guilty.

Seeing Josephine blaming herself. Ragnar was touched.

He had to admit that this woman was definitely a good mother.

The thought of not letting her go intensified. She would be the only woman he had in his life.

“Don’t worry. We’ll know when we see them,” Ragnar comforted.

A few hours later, the helicopter stopped on the lawn next to the Levine mansion in Muprary,

Ragnar led Josephine off the aircraft.

As soon as they landed, Josephine heard Danny and Manny crying.

They cried so hard that their voices were hoarse.

Ragnar’s parents and grandmother had been waiting for them. The worries on their faces eased a little at the sight of their arrival.

Before they could say anything, Danny and Manny had already run toward Josephine in tears.

They just learned to walk and were running unsteadily. If one of them was not careful, he would fall down.

Seeing this, Josephine was so anxious that she hurriedly said, “Danny, Manny, don’t run so fast. Mommy is coming”

After saying that, Josephine ran quickly toward Danny and Manny.

When she was near, Danny and Manny threw themselves into Josephine’s arms and cried more fiercely. They kept calling, “Mommy…”

Hearing them calling her, Josephine could no longer hold back her tears.

She hugged them tightly. “Danny, Manny, don’t cry. Mommy is here”

After saying that, Josephine realized something was wrong.

The children’s bodies felt warm. They were like two mini fireballs.

She let go of Danny and Manny and reached out to touch their foreheads.

Her expression changed, and she hurriedly said, “Ragnar, it seems like Danny and Manny are having a fever. Hurry and call a doctor.

Hearing what Josephine said, Ragnar was also anxious.

He reached out his hand and touched the twins. He shrank his hand back when he realized how hot it was.

He said, “Mom, Dad, please ask the family doctor over.”

“Okay, I will give the doctor a call immediately.” With that, Ragnar’s father, Clement Levine, dialed the family doctor.

The twins‘ grandmother was very distressed. “It’s all my fault. I didn’t notice that the babies are having a fever. If I had known, I wouldn’t have brought them back.” Diana’s brows were tightly knitted.

“Well, don’t blame yourself.” That was not what Ragnar wanted to hear. He said, “Josephine, take the twins back to the room first.”

While speaking, Ragnar wanted to pick up one of the twins, but the child held Josephine’s neck tightly and didn’t let go.

“They always cling to me. Let me carry them in
